I took my wife here for her birthday the Saturday that passed. We made a reservation and arrived right on time. We had to wait a bit still but found a nice spot by the bar. The drinks were great but a little expensive. However, the food was out of this world and well worth the price. The hibachi chef was great and super funny and the rest of the staff was very accommodating. Overall it was a great experience and i hope we could visit again some time in the future. Great atmosphere, excellent staff, and food to die for. I highly recommend you to try out the filet mignon steak and lobster tail if you can afford it. It was a big serving and cooked to perfection without a doubt.
This restaurant is open 24 hours a day serving all meals, It offers a complete menu for each meal. Quick but unattentive service, we came here twice for Breakfast and had the bad luck to be attended by the same lady which had a very poor service atitude. This Lady always left you speaking by your self each time you were trying to make an order. Always with a bad atitude.
We ordered Greek Yogurt & Granola, Whole wheat Toast with avocado, jelly butter, Flame omelette plus coffee and orange Juice.
Excelent and Cheap place, but please try to seat on a table were this lady isnt atending!
Great classic diner! Fast and affordable! Good portions and an incredible amount of options! The fries are the bomb, and kind service! And open 24 hours!!
Great service, fast and friendly! Would come every weekend if I could!
Friendly staff, delicious food and a great atmosphere! Would definitely go back
Perfect NYC Diner!. At first glance, The Flame delivers what you might expect: a fiery, fast-moving New York City diner providing the usual breakfast fare, delicious grilled burgers, and tasty international cuisine ranging from seared salmon to Sicilian pasta. But sitting in the cafe, you sense another kind of warmth. Though you may be just visiting NYC, the employees greet you with a smile and direct you to your seat. It doesn't take long to realize that you're surrounded by neighborhood regulars with discerning palates and exacting expectations, both of which seem happily met by the smiling staff.
In a symphony of service, the staff gracefully take orders, present fresh, steamy dishes, and refill drinks; cooks and crew, in accents that still reflect the home country of more than a century ago, chat with servers about the orders and steal glimpses of happily feasting customers; the delivery staff dances in and out of the front door, making dozens of trips throughout the neighborhood every hour or two, while the manager carefully inspects a growing pyramid of pastries, awaiting the morning rush.
Amidst the elegant hustle so appreciated by time-strapped tourists and locals alike, you notice that some of the regulars are slower-moving. Elderly or disabled, these guests are nevertheless warmly welcomed, comfortably seated, and graciously greeted by servers going out of their way to say hello and ask about their day. Not at all rushed, these guests are presented with special dishes, new items brought in by request or old favorites no longer on the menu, but still available for a friend. And that's exactly what they are. The manager and servers refer to each one by title and by name. "Did you get a seat by the window for my friend John?" "How about another soda for my friend David?" "Ah, my friend Thomas! Wait till you try the new dish!" It's no marketing gimmick, no dispassionate buzzword urged into usage by corporate strategists, but a heartfelt expression formed of delightful, sincere habit.
The simple name seems to refer to more than the diner's friendly atmosphere or its fiery grill; it seems to reflect the faithful light along the New York City shoreline that welcomes the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses, a light that glows as a city on a hill that cannot be hid. A diner that fills the stomach and warms the soul, The Flame shouldn't be missed by anyone who might be hungry near 9th Avenue and West 58th Street.
And the food? It tastes as good as it feels.
Very enjoyable. We stopped in here for dinner because we had seen the advertised specials on the board outside. We were not disappointed. Portions are generous; food is delicious; and prices are reasonable. Nothing fancy, just very good! Would definitely recommend.
Nice burger cooked to order, decent fries, good service.
A bright, clean and friendly neighborhood diner with quick service. Nice 24 hr option.
Simple, tasty, fast and inexpensive. My wife and I have walked past this diner at 9th Ave and 58th Street dozens of times but never tried it. It is always packed (it is open 24 hours), so I was very interested.
We finally gave it a go for brunch, and we were not disappointed. She had a egg, mushroom, onion and cheese scramble and I had corn beef hash with two eggs. Both were tasty. We also had coffee, which was hot and rich, and the price was very reasonable.
Found this place when I was staying at the YMCA for a few days. Great food and the best service I had on my whole trip. Lots of locals eating there, always a good sign! Coffee was perfect too.
This is such a little place, the food is good like in any other dinner, the service is super fast even on holidays, I went with my friend right after the Thanksgiving parade, we were starving and they saved our lives!
Strategically at the corner of 9th Ave/w58 st, a thriving diner in the neighborhood of Mt Sinai West, St.Paul Catholic Church,Fordham University, Columbus Circle, short distance from Lincoln Center. Fast service, indoor dining with variety breakfast, lunch, dinner & in between, spirits too.good for families or solo, affordable & friendly
This diner has the best burger I've had here in New York, the meat is fried to perfection, the fries are nice and crispy and golden, that's how you (woman) want it
Old school diner with refreshed interior. Great service and the food is always good. Suggestion: switch to a radio station with nice relaxing music, or switch it off, even better.
Exceptionally fast service at 9:30 pm. The sevice is nice and the food is good. We have been here twice, and on both occasions, we ordered breakfast food. The fries were really good. Thin and crispy.
Delicious!
We rolled into this place at 7:30am and got one of everything. It was all so good.
Nice old school diner. Love me a booth.
My girlfriend loved the Oreo Pancakes in particular 🤤🥰
Great diner for lunch! Had the chicken soup which was perfect for the cold winter day. Also had the chicken tenders from the appetizer menu. Crunchy and flavorful and had Buffalo sauce on the side. Would recommend! Service was great too!
Great lasagna and eggplant parm. But chicken soup was like Campbell's from a can.
Solid, nice atmosphere, harty portions. Revisited it again. Out of nostalgia. We had chicken parm, club and chicken sandwich, lemon soup and gazpacho. We just love the diner atmosphere. Staff is friendly, customers outlying locals and it feels sort of New York.
I was quite impressed by the value of this diner. Open 24 hrs a day, Flame has a huge menu with great options for snacks/sides, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. I love a classic diner breakfast and got it in record time, even at 1 in the morning. The staff were immensely kind too.
Always love to come here when I’m visiting New York. The only place that I know of in Manhattan, where there’s a Greek diner with all my homegrown favorites being that I grew up here. Spanakopita is excellent, salad is fresh! Omelettes are excellent also!
When it was so cold, the staff welcomed me warmly.
I thought there was a tip for sure, but it was good because it was included in the price. All you have to do is pay at the counter.
Lots of food and a variety of menus.
A comfortable atmosphere with all kinds of guests.
Went for late night for food and was exactly what we needed. We got late night dinner foods- chicken fingers, cheeseburger slider, and fish/chips. Really loved the cheeseburger slider as it was just what I needed. Atmosphere gave off classic dinner vibes and our server was amazing. Really good spot
