Forget about all the hype peter lugers has. This is by far the best steak in town. Go to the Park Ave location not the Tribeca one. You will not be disappointed. I have been to almost every "great" steakhouse in NYC, this is by far the best
A must visit in New York City. We were wise enough to make a reservation as this place gets crowded from 6 in the evening which only shows how popular it is. We got some soft bread as we were seated and went on to ordering our steaks. The porterhouse steak which serves two or more was suggested by our waiter. It was seared to perfection , medium rare juicy and tender . Overly satisfying for three people with a good appetite. Despite being uber full we had to try the desserts. My cousin insisted we try the hot chocolate sundae. It came in a tall glass with a generous amount of whip cream and chocolate sauce. Just a cherry on top of a great meal. Stuffed till the top we left with our tummies feeling great! A little expensive but I wouldn't complain to pay a buck or more for a great steak.
This is a place where you have to go big on everything. We always order family style porterhouse steak and the waiter will be able to tell how much meat you need to order. The steaks are well-seared and very tender. I suggest getting them cooked at medium. For the side dishes, our favorites include the cream spinach, german potatoes, and asparagus. We also love the caesar salad.
Schlag, their homemade whipped cream, is a must for dessert. Best with fruits, I say.
The porterhouse steak for two or more is a must try its so tender and juicy and full of flavor , by far the best steak I've ever had, highly recommend this place !
Put your cardiologist on speed dial first. Wolfgangs
Let me first say that if you are driving to Wolfgangs Midtown East then park up the street from the restaurant on the left (245 East 54th Street) and Wolfgangs will validate your ticket for a discount, we ended up paying only $10.00 for parking (as of Winter 2013) But don't forget to validate your ticket before you leave the restaurant. O.k., now to the part where you will not be saving any money.
You enter into the large bar area, we had to wait a little for our table so we had a drink which were nicely made. They have homemade potato chips out on the bar which I didn't care for, they were soggy. The main dining room has a comfortable atmosphere with wood floors, large unadorned chandeliers and wine bottles, oversized and normal size, all around the room. We started with a slice (yes, that's right, one slice) of Canadian bacon to split between 2 of us. It's a very large slice of bacon and it's $5.00 a slice. Canadian bacon is not my favorite but DH likes it. From there we had shrimp cocktail, which were nice size but not the largest I've seen, I can think of 2 steakhouses outside of Manhattan that have larger ones. But they were cooked nicely and they bring you extra horseradish with a tray full of saltines, which I didn't understand. DH got his tomato and onion's, which were very good. We got the steak for 2 for $94.00. The steak was cooked the way we like it and was very good but I felt we got short changed on the filet side, It was smaller then what we have come to expect from "steak for 2" from steakhouses. We ordered sides of creamed spinach and hash browns (which they call German potatoes), they were both good size portions and very good. Wines by the glass were not listed on the wine menu but the waiter told us what they had and that were all $14.00 a glass. It was a decent pour. Service was excellent all around. I enjoyed Wolfgang's, it's not my favorite steakhouse but I would put it my top 10.
I love this steakhouse. The porter house is fantastic and you have to try the Canadian bacon. It is nothing like traditional Canadian bacon, but it is amazing.
Amazing. We had an amazing time at Wolfgangs. The service was great and the food was excellent. We've also visited the Wolfgang's in Hawaii, also excellent.
I would highly recommend any Wolfgang Steakhouse and I look forward to going back to New York so we can have another wonderful Wolfgang steak !
A high temple of beef b. Everything wonderful. Best steak in NYC.
Wolfgang's. Best steak I ever ate in my life
excellent sides and salads great atmosphere
huge portions
porterhouse for two....yummmmm
Overall, the steak at Wolfgang’s was quite good. It was well-seasoned and seared to perfection right when it is served. I can’t say this is going to be on my “must eat” list for our next NYC trip. I would like to visit more steakhouses in New York for comparison.
We went because there are videos of people being very happy with Wolfgang's, and you can add us to the list. I brought my husband and son for belated Father's Day, and we weren't disappointed. The service is impeccable, and they had the drink is pre -ordered for my husband ready as we walked in. The tuna tartar was delicious, as weer my lamb chops and his steak. My son got the clams and I tried to sneak one or two because they were great as well. Don't forget the sides! The mash and creamed spinach were perfect, sauteed mushrooms were enjoyed and dessert was great. Would definitely come back (like for a birthday dinner)
Wolfgang's is one of my favorite steakhouses in NYC. The steaks are made perfectly, the service at the 54th Street location is always out of this world, and the deserts are amazing. I've dined at this particular location at least a dozen times and couldn't recommend it here highly enough. Also, Wolfgang's makes the best steak sauce bar none!
Always great place for steak and seafood platter. Drinks 🍸 also decent.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and while the quality of their food, beverages, and service was undeniably impressive, I was disappointed by the mixed standards and inconsistent attire of the patrons within the establishment.
Let me start by acknowledging the positive aspects of my experience at Wolfgang's Steakhouse. The food was exquisite, cooked to perfection, and the flavors were exceptional. The extensive wine list offered a great selection to complement the meal, and the attentive service provided by the staff enhanced the overall dining experience.
However, the inconsistency in attire among the customers was quite noticeable. Given the reputation and ambiance of Wolfgang's Steakhouse, it was disheartening to see some patrons dressed in shorts and flip-flops. Considering the average price per person of $150, one would expect a certain level of elegance and adherence to a dress code that matches the upscale nature of the establishment. The presence of guests wearing casual attire undermined the intended atmosphere and detracted from the overall dining experience.
Maintaining a consistent dress code is essential for upholding the refined ambiance and experience of a restaurant like Wolfgang's Steakhouse. It sets a standard of sophistication and contributes to the overall atmosphere that the establishment aims to create. Allowing guests to wear shorts and flip-flops creates a disparity in the dining environment and compromises the intended upscale experience.
While I understand that some establishments may adopt a more relaxed dress code, it is imperative for a high-caliber steakhouse like Wolfgang's to establish and enforce a consistent dress policy. This would ensure that all guests have a cohesive and elevated dining experience, while also maintaining the restaurant's image and reputation.
In conclusion, Wolfgang's Steakhouse offers a remarkable culinary experience with its exceptional food, beverages, and service. However, the lack of consistent attire standards among patrons, particularly those wearing shorts and flip-flops, was disappointing. With an average price per person of $150, I expected a more uniform and elegant atmosphere. It is my hope that the management of Wolfgang's Steakhouse takes note of this concern and implements a consistent dress code to enhance the overall dining experience for all guests.
What a great steakhouse in midtown-east! The food was simple amazing. And the steak was cooked to perfection! We had steak for 3 and it was outstanding!
Steak was "okay"
Portions are small and the drinks were made by a non experienced bartender even though the prices were high.
Quite noisy.

From Beginning to End the dining experience at Wolfgang’s was outstanding . Started with an Espresso martini paired with freshly cut non greasy potato chips . Both were delicious. The perfectly laid out bar makes for great place to have a pre dinner drink or eat . Though I’ve eaten here before I had not had the pleasure of dining inside . I had no idea how vast the restaurant was inside . Simple class and cleanliness with a comfortable warmth is the best way to describe the back room . The tables are far enough away from each other that there is no noise interference from other patron conversations . We loved this rare feature not found very often in Manhattan . Exceptional service and a magnificent meal ensured we will be back soon .
Wonderful, as expected. Delish!
Been coming here for a dozen years.
Amazing staff. Steaks are great, consistent.
Normally the steak is amazing, but this time the filet was over cooked and not the medium rare I ordered.. Otherwise this place is amazing....
