Good tavern style pizza. Crunchy crust with a sweet sauce. The kids loved it. They serve Peroni so that's a huge plus. Lots of seating and bathrooms are clean.
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I had their pizza for the first time 6 months ago, on my first visit to NYC. On my next visit a month ago, I tried several other places, thinking that someone else HAD to be able to have a pizza as good as theirs. I went home disappointed, and dreaming of Denino’s. Then this week, I legit flew to NYC from Oregon for 36 hours JUST so I could get their pizza again. It was absolutely worth it, and I’d do it again!
On this past visit, we accidentally ordered the wrong style of pizza. It was our fault 100%, and we took full responsibility for our error and asked them to bring us a second pie. Despite it being fully on us, they insisted on comping the second pizza and wouldn’t hear of letting us pay for it. This would still be a 5-star review if they hadn’t comped it, but the professionalism and passion for their customers’ satisfaction is what makes me wish I could double the stars given. When you eat at Denino’s, it’s the real deal, in all ways. This will forever be the pizza to beat for me, and I would be shocked if any other place comes close to challenge. I cannot wait to go back!
Extremely authentic Italian food. Great atmosphere and great food. Mozzarella sticks were crispy while the cheese inside was soft. The Italian egg rolls were full of pork flavor and the balsamic glaze was the cherry on top. The pizza was fantastic. We got buffalo chicken, margarita, prosciutto, and vodka. The dough was crisp and had the best flavor of any pizza I had in awhile. Definitely go here
I was introduced to this restaurant about a year ago by my daughter, and then have returned there twice recently. She gets excellent service as a regular but we observed that they were hustling to serve everyone. Pizza and meatballs were outstanding, and we tried a few pasta dishes. Overall, a very welcoming place with some great menu items. Travis was a hero behind the bar too.
We make it a point to come here every time we come to the city. The original pizza is some of the best and several years ago the owners son was serving us and told us to order the rigatoni alla Norma. We normally do not order eggplant, but this pasta was amazing and we order it every time now! Great place and definitely worth a visit.
This restaurant is excellent when it comes to pizza! Unfortunately, their stoves were not working when we went, so no pastas or hot appetizers were available.
I wanted to come here ever since seeing this restaurant featured in the Food Network as one of the best thin crust pizzas out there. They weren’t kidding!
The margherita pizza was excellent! Never had tomato sauce that tangy and delicious before on a pizza! The mozzarella was sparse but so delicious.
The pizza dough and crust are delicious as well - still retaining a good level of crispiness under the weight of the sauce.
Service was also really good - staff are attentive and helpful throughout the entire meal.
Had a great time here meeting friends on a Thursday night. We made a reservation for 7 and tried a bunch of pies - the clam pie was the highlight but they are all thin, super crispy, and delicious. A tiny bit pricey, the pies range from like $27 into the 30s but the flavor is there and the atmosphere was super chill.
Oh wow.
I got a pie that was 50% Raab and Sausage and 50% Prosciutto and Arugula ... and both sides were delicious.
Glad I stopped by here for my Friday afternoon lunch!
First visit was on 1/25/23. The father and son team are very friendly and attentive. We had the Chicken Milanese @$28 and the Chicken Francaise with Penna @$31, tequila soda with lime or lemon is $14. Food is very good and the place is well kept.
We had a nice dining experience here. Food was really good! Their thin crust pizza was excellent. I also liked their calamari and Cacio e Pepe. Love the vibe as well. The service was nice too.
Fantastic pizza! Clam, vodka, and garbage pies are excellent! They also have a happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 which has $5 beers, select wines for $8, sangria for $9, and select apps for $9.
Warm, cozy atmosphere and good service. The food is reasonably priced and very good. The place has been around 85 years and they know how to deliver.
My partner and I were visiting NYC from Australia in February. We walked in by chance before going to the comedy cellar. We didn't even look at the name. I finally found this place on Google. We are planning a second trip to NYC and Denino's is on the list to revisit. Definitely one of the city's hidden gems. Pizza was top notch, service was fantastic. See you next year guys.
New York City pizza from the early twentieth century, this place is testament to a bygone era. A perfectly done thin and crispy crust that is hallmark of an authentic New York city pizza can be experienced here. The Vodka Pizza is worth getting. Top quality, definitely worth visiting.
Shared a clam pizza and an orecchiette. The pizza was very thin. The pasta had a tasty sausage, and I forgot to find out what the nice herbal flavor was. Both satisfying.
Outdoor dining. MacDougal is one of the most lively streets in Manhattan. Very loud especially on the weekend. A beggar and someone selling skittles separately solicited most of the outdoor tables.
Highly recommend the burrata! The CLAM pizza is pretty dry since there's no sauce and it does taste like garlic bread. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria for 3 people since the waiter said it'd be 4 full glasses. But they turn out to be more so we were having a hard time to finish. I would suggest half a pitcher if you're not looking for drinking a lot.
On May 20th I saw at Food Network Chanel a show about best thin crust in USA. Me as pizza lover told myself I gotta try it. So today may 21st me and my wife we went try this place.
We had meatballs appetizer and GARBAGE Pizza. Very flavourful best pizza we had in our life .
Great experience.
What a delicious pizza we had today. I wanted to go to Staten Island but wife insisted we try this location. One guest wanted to try another place but won't be doing that after eating here. He loved the pie! My only complaint is that I had to share the pie with other people. Server was kind and on top of every need we had. Street scene was better than most locations. The bill was much higher than Port Richmond location, but no ferry ride. Great place!
