My friends and I are such foodies, have been wanting to try and decided to. I will say 10/10 ! From booking the reservation & being greeting by the staff was absolutely easy/pleasant. Our waiting staff was named "ANTHONY" shout out to him for being so attentive and kind. I had the frittas, goat empinadas, my friends and I had entrees of jerk chicken & oxtail, washed down with passion fruit lemonade. Nothing usually reminds me of my mom's dishes but this was a place to be. The space itself is sophisticated yet still playful with its ambience and fun designs, music was great, gave me nostalgia of back home and overall a VIBE !
It has been years since I've been here. They switched it up and the atmosphere is inviting and welcoming. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable in regards to choices and service. The food was dynamic and the portions were good. My only complaint it's that it is BYOB. It worked out because they have a liquor store around the corner. The selections are minimal but if you get some rum the restaurant rum punch is good. Definitely plan on going back soon and bringing the family with me.
The codfish fritters are delightful
The spring rolls are delicious
The oxtail with the peas and rice stellar.
My friend enjoyed the fish as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (cleaned my plate :o). The appetizers were yummy too, I had to give the garlic butter its own pic. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and they remembered from my special note in the online reservation made. That was thoughtful. There was a charge for the dessert they brought out, which was fine… it was also delicious. They do not have a liquor license right now which they remind you of at the door. If that’s something you desire or need, plan ahead. There is a liquor store nearby and you are charged a bottle fee. See their website or call ahead. Our server was pleasant and personable. After ordering, our food was perfectly timed. The restroom was clean and there was a lovely attendant on duty (tip her!) They also had a photography team in duty for photos for a fee. This was Easter so not sure if this is the norm. Lastly, the music was fabulous.
This is still a favorite place of mine for great food!
Unfortunately at the time we visited on October 15th, the food costs went way up and the food portions went way smaller. I can appreciate one or the other needing to occur but not both.
Nevertheless, the food quality is still amazing. The Staff were beyond amazing! Especially the Hostess "Lasagna!" Shout out!!!!
the food was amazing!! loved the non-dairy rasta pasta take although there chicken was a tad dry. the oxtail empanadas are also super yummy
Their food is full of flavor! Had the Negrils tasting platter which consisted of oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken and rice & peas. Everything tasted amazing. Also tried their chicken goat empanada which also tasted amazing. Their Mac and cheese was decent. Great service and beautiful atmosphere.
The food is phenomenal. Delicious appetizers, great service, amazing energy.
We shared a tasting platter and two sides and came home with leftovers. Very tasty authentic caribbean food with great non alchoholic options such as sour sop lemonade. Does not disappoint. The service is friendly and helpful.
Everything we ate was delicious, from the seasonings, to the presentations, and portion. We had jerk wings as our appetizer and jerk salmon and curry shrimp as our main dishes. Our server was very attentive but not overbearing and did not rush us even after we finished our meal and chatted. The establishment is not currently serving alcohol but even so the food, atmosphere, and service made up for this! Lastly, the venue is gorgeous with two floors of a vibey tropical theme. I can see this being a spot for weekend events and being a hot spot for local young adults. Would def come back and recommend.
Everything was nice. This is my third time going. I love how the hostess attentive and I believe the other woman is the manager. Very nice. Food is always good.
Food was gone before i could take a pic 🤤 DELICIOUS! music was on point! -1 star because there was no liq served but you were allowed to bring your own liq and make a mixed drink with theirs. Servers were very attentive to our large party will def go again!
This place blew me away.
It’s definitely Caribbean food done in a classy way.
They no longer require masks to be worn & proof of vaccination. The decor has a modern flare with a touch of a green tropical feel.
Their food program seems pretty traditional. I felt like they had items on the menu that reminded me of what would be available at my grandmothers kitchen in Jamaica. The food was fresh, flavorful & delicious.
Definitely a great place to visit.
The food was very good. They were not serving alcoholic beverages when I visited. But overall it was a good experience
They still don't have a liquor license, so it's BYOB. I'm not a big drinker, so that was fine. My server couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. My tamarind ribs were delicious, and the sugar cane juice was excellent!! I can't wait to go back.
Delicious food ! I had the snapper with plantains & white rice. I also tried the curry goat empanadas. There’s a lounge downstairs also. My waiter was very nice. My only complaint is they weren’t serving alcohol. I had to Uber eats a bottle of wine. I wish i would have known that before coming, bc it would have been more affordable to grab a bottle along the way.
PLEASE DON’T LISTEN TO BAD REVIEWS! Not sure why anyone would leave bad reviews. The service was excellent! Rene our waitress was phenomenal! Now to the food! It was spectacular! We had a variety of everything and it was all excellent! The vibe and the atmosphere is worth is. With our without the liquor license bringing your own bottle isn’t a bad thing, it is worth it! If you want authentic Caribbean food and a great atmosphere with amazing music this is the place to be! I will certainly be back!!
I really liked this place! Very nice ambiance, decor great vibe! Nice music, I like to keep it authentic. Oxtail stew and greens with rice and peas were my favorite followed by The jerk salmon. I could use a few more pieces of oxtail on that plate though for the $44 price. Overall we enjoy dinner and we'll return on our next visit to NYC.
The girls and I got together and took a trip out to NYC. When we arrived we were lucky to find parking. We missed our reservations but we were able to sit downstairs where the DJ was. Ali was our server and another nice young lady with blonde braids (I don't remember her name) was very helpful as well. We found out they didn't have their liquor license at the moment because it was being renewed. My friends had to order mocktails which they liked. For my meal, I got brown stew chicken. My friend's jerk chicken came out first and she said it was just ok. When my chicken came out I dug in and it was very tasty. We had a good experience and the bill wasn't too bad.
