A classic must-do NYC experience. Festive and lively. Food is good and the desserts are great. Reservations recommended, and if you can't get a table ahead of your trip, try the day of. We had lots of options the day we were in town. It's very crowded and there is no room to wait inside, so it's very cold in the winter, waiting outside. We were seated right at our reservation time. Staff were friendly and service was great.
Serendipity 3 was a great experience. It’s best to have a reservation because it’s a popular location; however, the service was fast and friendly once we were seated.
The food was tasty. No doubt, the food is expensive. You’ll pay more for every type of food here than you would at most other places. However, you’re certainly paying for the experience, too.
While the food was pricey, we were giving heaping proportions. We weren’t able to finish everything! Based on the quality, amount, and atmosphere, it was worth the price, and we’d likely return.

Just loved it! Great food ! Worth the wait. Not bad with reservations. Frozen hot chocolate is a must. It does come in different flavors such as peanut butter chocolate and more. Pretty decoration. Ice cream land. Love it 😀
A fabulous experience! The servers were fantastic, nothing was too much and they were all super friendly. And the food?! Wonderful. We ate Bacon Mac, an American Cheese Burger and a Foot Long Hot Dog between four of us, plus a Frrrrrozen Hot Chocolate and a Banana Split. We had a marvellous time, and would go back in a heartbeat!
Serendipity Cafe in NYC is worth a visit for its charming pink decoration. The cafe is known for its famous frozen hot chocolate, which is a delightful treat. Topped with a generous amount of whipped cream, it is a must-try for any chocolate lover.
Wow! I've wanted to come here since I was little. We brought our daughter to celebrate her 15th birthday. The service was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food was delicious! We ordered drinks, the Thai peanut salad with chicken, Grandma's chicken sandwich with loaded fries, a cheeseburger, and a black truffle burger with bacon. The burgers were absolutely delicious and well seasoned. The Thai salad was so good! The chicken sandwich had a really tasty sauce on it. It was very crispy and the chicken was juicy. The loaded french fries were really good too.
We had to order the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate too! That was so good! The whipped cream was thick and had great flavor. The frozen hot chocolate was so rich and creamy. A must have if you visit!
One of the most charming restaurants I have seen. Decor is very fun and whimsical. My daughter got the Wicked frozen hot chocolate and ate as much as she could. She described it as "the best thing she ever ate." Went without a reservation and got in after a 15 min wait. Staff was terrific.
We had lots of fun here for my daughter’s birthday. Our server was excellent (Michael) and the foods was very tasty. I regret that we weren’t hungry enough for a big dessert! THe decor is fun. It would be nice if the music was a bit quieter - We were shouting to hear each other. Definitely an iconic NYC experience.
Had to check this place out and it was worth it! Saw a few kids having their birthday here and got to join in on singing. The staff was super friendly and knew a lot about the menu. The black bean burger was tasty, but HUGE! The drinks were divine and the atmosphere feels lucky.
Serendipity is a staple New York City dessert and dinner diner! It’s known for its over the top food items and of course the frozen hot chocolate. Everything on the menu is price where everyone in your group is about to spend 50$ or more so just prepare your wallets. Other than that, it’s fun the music is cute, bathroom decor and restaurant decor is fun for all ages. I recommend making a reservation for you and your group! But yes definitely recommend getting the frozen hot chocolate, I personally love mint! So that’s what I ordered. I do want to come back, and get some food items or maybe order a sundae, and other ice cream delights!
I visited this place on a Friday afternoon, walked in without a reservation and they were very accommodating. We had a vegan burger with onion rings, cauliflower and Mac and cheese. Burger was good, rest of them were just okay. Food is average and I wouldn’t go back for that price.
Desserts are good. Frozen chocolate is one of the best I have had.
We had the most amazing experience starting with the friendly person at the door, to our server. Then the scrumptious Mac and cheese came out for myself and the fried chicken sandwich for my daughter and OMG! Even though we could not finish our food, we knew we needed to share dessert, we ordered the frozen hot chocolate, it was fabulous! Oh and we got to sit at the actual Serendipity table in front of the fireplace, it was magic.

We had a great meal here for our anniversary a few weeks back. The best part of this place, without a shadow of a doubt, is the friendly and kind staff.
On our way in, one of the hosts saw my husband taking a picture of me outside the restaurant and instantly offered to snap a pgoto of both of us, even though he was working inside. When we came in, him and his coworkers were so friendly and asking us about marriage tips, etc and just very thoughtful.
We'd mentioned that it was our 5 year anniversary in the notes and they ended up seating us at the best table, aka the one by the fireplace that Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack sat at in the movie... Literally could have died of happiness right there!!!
Our server was really good at well, and we ordered a mixture of different appetizers and the frozen hot chocolate of course. The FHC was out of this world awesome and I'm so glad we tried it! The appetizers were huge but great also, especially the dynamite shrimp.
Thanks again to the staff for being so great, would definitely recommend a visit here, especially if you love the movie!

It had always been of dream of mine to visit Serendipity, ever since I watched the movie. This November 3, 2023, we were finally able to go to New York and of course we made reservations at Serendipity, to celebrate my mom’s 75th birthday. We arrived a bit early, but the guy in the front was awesome and seated us early! The waiter Leo was great and the burger and waffles were delicious! However, my mom had asked for HOT chocolate and it was brought to her in a glass and it was warm, not even close to hot. So I asked one of the servers if they could either warm it up or get her a hot one. It was taking kind of long and since our waiter was busy, we asked another guy named Renzo or Ranzo, something like , and he literally yelled at us to tell us they had to make it all over again “because she put her mouth on it”. He was so freaking rude! That incident kind of put a damper on our whole experience. Especially being my mom’s birthday! If it wasn’t for our awesome waiter Leo, who was super nice, our night would have been ruined! I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn’t for this guy! Definitely a place to visit though. It’s super cute, and the famous frozen hot chocolate was so good!
A nice and cozy place in the big apple with some mouth watering delights. Great selection of items with a better interior. Two floors provide adequate space to hold the queues that's always outside waiting to get in. Would recommend making a reservation beforehand to avoid long wait times. Perfect place to grab a bite or go on a date.
I have been dying to eat here since I watched the movie. We went on my birthday! They sat us at the actual table. The service was terrific and food amazing.
What a treat! As a family of 6 we were easily accommodated, and having a reservation make the wait very short. Our family shared some appetizers, tasty but in my opinion overpriced. The nachos had what seemed to be cheap cheese dip as the “cheese”. Potato skins were the smallest portion, but dressed nicely with toppings. We came for the dessert so let’s move on— The Apple pie sundae- so good with excellent pie crust and whip cream topping. Spiked hot chocolate was rich and strong, so good! My Son said cheese cake was super smooth and rich, he was happy but compared to the servings of the other desserts it did not- compare. The unicorn Sundae was flashy, rich, and the layered rainbow cake was the best!! Overall the service was excellent, the fun was plenty, desserts lived up to their reputation- as for food I would eat somewhere else first! What a great memory! Just be sure to bring your checkbook!
