Would give it a 4.5 if I had the option to because the food was a little too salty. First off, this place is a gem. If you’re looking for a cozy, quiet place to enjoy some home cooked-style French meals, this is it! We ordered the rabbit stew and sea bass which were excellent, although the stew was too salty for our taste. They give you tasty complementary bread, and the stew came with some green beans which I absolutely loved as a palate cleanser. Their soufflé is a must-have! It’s expensive, but it’s something you can’t try anywhere else in the US. It looks enormous but is mostly air inside - 2 people can easily finish it so don’t be intimidated by the size like we were. Reservations are a must here. The restaurant is tiny so you will most likely not have any luck with a walk-in. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning the service was great. They were very friendly, and I’d definitely come again!

This restaurant is really cool. It’s small and intimate and the food is pretty decent/good. The owner is extremely nice and the wait staff are all completely amazing. The bartender and owner may put on a facade as if he is a super tough Gothic dude but inside he’s really sweet, warm, caring, and quite funny don’t let his appearance freak you out/stereotype. Overall is great and I definitely would return.

Chez Napoleon is an absolute gem of a French restaurant that deserves multiple visits! My recent dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional. The Soupe a L’Oignon was an absolute delight. Unlike many places, the soup here wasn't laden with greasiness. The hint of vegetable broth made a delightful difference, and the slightly charred cheese on top added a wonderful flavor dimension. Coq au Vin was a revelation! Tender chicken immersed in a beautifully balanced red wine sauce made this dish an absolute winner. A flavorful, adult dish that left a lasting impression. Cordon Bleu was a classic delight. The perfectly breaded chicken breast stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese, coupled with the delectable mushroom sauce and flavored rice, made for an unforgettable meal. And let's talk about the Soufflé (Grand Marnier)! This dessert stole the show. The generous portion, impeccably baked top, and the heavenly, fluffy interior made it a heavenly treat. I couldn't resist - it was beyond delightful. Moreover, the attentive service added an extra layer of charm to the overall experience. The ambiance exuded a lovely French bistro vibe, and the house wine was easy to love, perfectly complementing the scrumptious food. In every detail, from the attentive service to the delicious food and cozy ambiance, Chez Napoleon has won my heart ❤️💕

The atmosphere is very intimate, and cozy. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I met both the mother and son in person, which made the experience even more special. For appetizer: Foie Gras (first time) - unique and tasty For dinner: Cuisses de Grenouilles - So Delicious! Came here specifically to try these and Chez Napoleon didn't disappoint. If you are looking for a unique French dining experience with a very personal feel, this is the place.

If you've never tried escargot but have wanted to, this is the place to go, they were lovely. And if you are a fan of duck, that dish is a spectacular showshopper.

I loved the cozy atmosphere of this place, made even more welcoming by the mother-son duo who run the restaurant. The food was similarly very comforting, and was a perfect pre-show dinner! I ordered the rabbit stew, and it was just absolute perfection. (Another fun but weird perk: the bathroom is an interesting shade of purple!)

This is the last and best true French bistro left in NYC. Even in Paris today, this place would be a rare treat. All of the classics, done with care and precision, and wonderful soufflés make for the cherry on top. Absolutely the best restaurant in the area.

A fantastic little bistro! The food is phenomenal especially for its prices, the atmosphere is festively French and even the French bread is fresh baked on premises. The lamb was perfect!

Had a great evening at Chez Napoleon tonight! It has been 20 years since I have been here. The food was excellent and the service was great. Small, quaint restaurant. No frills, but a focus on food, comfort, and hospitality.
