The view was fabulous with the roof open and the breeze coming in. The food was vey good and reasonably priced although as a woman traveling alone for business I did not find the wait staff to be very attentive to my needs and had to ask for a second drink several times. Overall I would return for another dinner.
Always great, fresh food! Had a wonderful dinner, forgot how much I enjoyed the food here.
Her Amerika tatilinde mutlaka yemek yemeğe uğradığım mükemmel bir yer herkese tavsiye ederim...
Just fabulous 👋🍸🍽

Great Place in New York with Fantastic Food & Beautiful View upstairs
Food was nice good hospitality and lovely customer service.
A really wonderful Turkish restaurant with great food. Could become one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Sit up stairs if you can. Very attentive service and excellent lamb dishes.
Mükemmel yemekler ve servis👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This restaurant is vey lovely with great service and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. A great restaurant to eat at in the city.
Definitely coming back here! Great service great food....Thank you Ali Baba :)
This place was dope. Went here with my GF and her sister. Everything was incredible. That Turkish pizza, Lahmacun was my favorite. If you are looking for an authentic Turkish dining experience than look no further. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent authentic Turkish food (just like what we had recently in Turkey!). Everything was good especially the freshly baked bread. The food was super flavorful and not salty. So happy they have imam bayildi which is one of my favorite eggplant dishes and so rarely offered in NYC Turkish restaurants.
Also impressed they have künefe which is also less common in NYC (although this one was not as good as künefe in Turkey).
The service could be improved. A few things were off. I ordered ayran and had to remind the waiter twice yet he gave the other table that came in after my group the ayran and told me that was the last one. Also had to remind them to fill water. But overall food wise definitely recommend this place.
I had their Lentil Soup ($10), which is a puree, it had too much pepper for my taste. As my main course I had the Mixed Cold Appetizer Plate ($24), it comes with Balloon Bread, seen in one of the pictures included here. The items on the plate are, as stated on the menu, the chef's choice, so I asked that they include nothing spicy, they respected that request. I enjoyed four of the five appetizers on that plate, the hummus was bland. I took the platter home and photographed it there. I ate there a second time and ordered the Mixed Cold Appetizer Plate again, and it was almost completely different than the last time I had it. The waitress replaced one of the items that I did not like at all with a different appetizer. If you order Shish Kabab, tell the waiter how well you want it cooked, otherwise it is likely to be served well done, which was tasteless.
The service to begin with was great , and the food was literally mind blowing.I Got the lahmacun myself and it was everything i have been craving. My friend got the alinazik and the sauce underneath the lamb was so suiting for the perfectly cooked lamb on top.We got the baklava too which was good but i have had better i am ngl. Their hospitality was great they made us try turkish tea on the house and even gave us a refill for free too. I will be back :)
Great experience all around! Delicious authentic Turkish food. We particularly enjoyed the Ezme, Lahmacun (fresh from their oven) and the Lentil Soup. The Mixed Appetizer plate was overall amazing, fresh and not overly garlicky. We would recommend trying one of the Turkish Pizze (Pide) as well since they have this amazing oven.
Delicious! Ali Baba is great place in NYC. I never had that tastes before, definitely will be back again.
We wanted Mediterranean food so we gave this little restaurant a try. They serve every table with a very interesting bread that was extremely tasty with butter. I think it might have been better with olive oil and sea salt. The dolma was good. The filet mignon kebab was flavorful but slightly overcooked. Very friendly staff.
A midtown mediterranean restaurant . A Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. A live jazz music. Indoor and outdoor seating. Our outdoor seating was comfortable and decorated with potted flowers made us believe that we are on a backyard. A plate with a big warm Turkish bread was served with olives and olive oil complimentary. Our orders included a plate with a large chicken shush kebab and a whole Bronzini which were served with a sided fresh veggie, lemon and charred coaled veggie. A hot Turkish tea has ended our dinner. Highly recommend this place for a dinner as this restaurant is opened at 5:30 pm.
We were in Ali Baba yesterday for a Sunday dinner. Ordered short ribs, Mixed appetizer plate, and 2 glasses of Turkish Okuzgozu red wine. This is the real Turkish taste! Ferhat was very friendly and served very well. I wish I had not eaten 3 hours ago in another place, and wanted to finish what we ordered :) thank you Ali Baba Family. New York deserves you!
A memorable evening with exceptional service.
Last night, my dining experience at Ali Baba, a Turkish Mediterranean gem in Manhattan, left me thoroughly impressed. Despite a minor hiccup with our reservation, which was inadvertently given to another party, the staff handled the situation with utmost professionalism and grace.
Upon realizing the mistake, they politely addressed the issue, ensuring we were seated comfortably. This initial mix-up could have marred our evening, but it was their exceptional service and sincere apologies that set the tone for what was to become a delightful dining experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, perfectly capturing the essence of Mediterranean charm. As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a testament to authentic Turkish flavors, prepared with care and presented beautifully.
The staff, attentive and knowledgeable, made sure our every need was met. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, turning a small oversight into an opportunity to showcase their commitment to customer satisfaction.
I understand that a previous review highlighted the reservation issue, but I firmly believe that the way the staff rectified the situation deserves recognition. It’s rare to find a restaurant that not only serves excellent food but also prioritizes the customer experience to this extent.
In conclusion, Ali Baba is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Turkish Mediterranean cuisine in Manhattan. Their ability to turn a mishap into a positive experience is commendable, and it’s this level of service that will keep me coming back. Highly recommended!
We would recommend trying one of the Turkish Pizza (Pide and lahmacun) as well since they have this amazing oven.…
This was I believe my second time here. Their food is delicious, freshly made bread is tasty and hot, ambiance is nice, music is not overwhelming, and the service was great. I will go back for sure when I am in the area and have already recommended this place to my friends too.
Turkish Restaurant offers Halal Food. It is one of the best restaurants in NYC, serving tasty food with good portions, reasonable prices, and great service.
Awesome place with delicious food. Everything that we ordered was 10/10. Freshly baked bread just from the oven was crispy and full of flavor. Famous stuffed eggplant impressed everyone. Shepherd salad with feta cheese was fresh and well flavored. Baba ghanoush was one of the best in a city. Cheese plate was good. Mix of meat / kebabs was delicious and each of us found best bite. Was impressed with liver cubes. You enjoy the taste of liver with each piece. For desert had kunafe and it was great too. Also, the Turkish tea and coffee are awesome here too. Thank you guys for having us today
Me and my fiancé are in this street very often whenever we are in Manhattan, and we love to try all the restaurants around the neighborhood. Finally came to Ali Baba and was a very pleasant lunch experience.
We also brought my mother which she had been wanting to try Turkish food after she had finished watching a Turkish soap apera on Netflix.
So we brought her for lunch and we were very happy with the food, the service and the staff. Amazing over all experience and will be back very soon to have another lunch.
The food was perfectly cooked and delicious.
This is a lovely and authentic Turkish restaurant. The food was cooked perfectly, each dish was flavorful and fresh. The restaurant is lovely. The decor, table placements, the brick oven. The vibe is restaurant dining, with a home feel to it. They had a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Their falafel’s may be the best I’ve had. The owner and staff were all very kind and welcoming. Service was top tier and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back to visit on my future travels.
I recently dined at the Turkish Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, and it was a delightful experience! The food was incredibly flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. The staff was attentive and provided excellent service. I especially loved the variety of dishes they offered, and their baklava was a perfect way to end the meal. I can't wait to go back and try more from their menu. A fantastic culinary journey! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
