Carmella was the best! Some people may find her "rude" because she shouts and yells all over the place but that's just how she is, an authentic Italian "la mama". We loved it! The food was great!

This place was amazing. Carmela has a heart of gold and the pizza is top notch. Clean and a great atmosphere. Stuffed Spinach Pizza, Grandma Slice, Dominic Style....AMAZING! Don’t waste your time anywhere else.
Been coming here for years. Great food. Great service and excellent value. Carmella is the real deal! She is the reason we keep coming back. Highly recommend.

Service was impeccable! Sangria was perfect and the foooood!!!! Oh wow! I thought my husband made good lasagna but my oh my! Calamari was on point as well as the chicken alfredo! Couldn't have been happier to make this one of my dining experiences while here!
My son loved the Mac and cheese Pizza. We found Carmela hardworking and charming. The pizza has a wonderful crust and delicious toppings.

Loved it, just the kind of great neighborhood restaurant you find in NYC where the food tastes like at home. Try the meatball & spaghetti 🍝, the cannoli for dessert.
We ate here a few years back when in NYC and loved the food and company. At first I was a little taken back by the staff member that seemed a little aggressive but shortly after forming that opinion, we warmed to her ways. We had a great night and still talk about the experience.
We have been back to NYC several times since but haven't managed to revisit. It is still on my list though.

That was one fabulous pizza!! For the price I was expecting a smaller pie, but was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The meat was fresh and the crust was perfect. Can't wait to go back.
The food was really good. Carmela ( the waitress) makes sure you get good food and great service. Prices are great! I will return.
I thought this place was going to be your typical N.Y. pizza tourist trap, and some ways it is. Don't let that stop you from enjoying it's authentic charm.
The pizza here is shockingly good. I ordered the Mac and cheese pizza which I would normally avoid. I've had more than one terrible Mac and cheese pizzas. It was so tasty I couldn't put it down.
There is an Italian woman hosting and yelling at people where to sit and what to order. She's that combination of sweet, too honest, and loud that I can't get enough of.
Definitely stop in for a bite and beer or a glass of wine. Prices are extremely fair as well.
We wanted real New York Pizza so we asked a local Italian guy where we should go and he told us emphatically, "UNCLE MARIO'S!"... and we were NOT disappointed.
I can't compare it to any other NYC pizza, but if it was in our hometown it would be the best in town by far.
The cheese is generous, the crust delicious and the sauce quite fantastic!

Good pizza. Decent seating area. Lots if reviews complain about service but it was fine. Only one red wine that wasn't good. The nice thing is that they're open early.
We ate here last night and the food was great! We ordered a large pepperoni pie and had tiramisu for dessert. Restaurant was very clean and the staff were very nice. If you're in the area I would absolutely recommend this place!

First time ever in NYC and the first thing I wanted to do was try authentic NYC pizza and this place was right around the corner from our hotel so my wife and I just tried it on a whim.
OMG the Tony Roni pizza was phenomenal and my wife had the Uncle Mario pizza which was also incredibly good. Huge portion size for a “personal” pizza.
I’ve learned from other comments the older Italian waitress is name Carmela and some are saying she’s rude, and honestly I would have agreed with this initially, had I not actually talked to her. Spend just a little time with her and you’ll see it’s simply her personality and she’s actually a very sweet woman and is very engaging, if not a little much at first glance lol.
My hopes were very high and this place still blew me away. Nothing like this where I live. Excellent from top to bottom.
I love the Uncle Mario Pizza, prosciutto and arugula is so fresh!
My server Carmela is an amazing human being! She will help you with good suggestions. I love how she speak the italian!.. is one my favorite places for pizza!.
This place can be hit or miss on delivery, but their Mac N Cheese and Grandma pizza are so good and the wings too. This is your typical pizza joint with more space than normal to dine for a NYC pizza shop.
The appetizer and the pizza were both incredible. A clear recommendation. Only thing that disturbed the atmosphere was the rushed personnel (the even had a fight in the oven area that could be heard by the customers... well, Italians have a hot temperament ;)

Every time my mom and I travel down to the City we always stop in and get the Margarita pizza. The best pizza in the City. The owner is so nice and she is amazing. My mom and I love it there. The next time we come down we will definitely be coming to Uncle Mario’s.
This is our favorite go to place in New York City. The food is top notch delicious. Our waitress Carmela is like my Italian mom. She always has some good suggestions for food and for wine. We love her! Definitely will keep going here whenever we're in the city.
My first true New York pizza, and I did not leave disappointed. We absolutely loved our pizza and enjoyed the experience. From a guy from the South who is used to a pizza full of meat toppings, enjoying a pizza with relatively little meat is saying something. It was really good, quality food. We also enjoyed fried squid, which a first for me. The beer was cold and the wine was tasty. The waitress/manager mentioned in posts before mine is instantly recognizable. We thought she was going to make us it one piece of pizza that we had left...it was like Mom telling us to clean our plate. She is definitely unique, but I don't think she means any harm. She curses like a sailor, though, but we enjoyed it because she wasn't cursing us! We would DEFINITELY go again.
