Golden Unicorn was the best it's ever been, they have definitely upped their game. Great service and the variety and quality of the dim sum was superb :-) Used to have Jin Phung at the top of my list but Golden Unicorn now holds the top spot.
The dim sum spread is hands down one one of the best I’ve ever had and that includes my trip to Taiwan. The restaurant is very clean and the staff gets the job done. Make sure you have the turnip cakes :)
Great place for dim sum! Well worth the 30-minute wait.
Awesome food! A really nice place to go for a very good meal in New York City!
Had my daughters wedding there last night. Best wedding ever. Food was amazing. Service was awesome. Could not have asked for more. Thank you Jimmy and staff for everything
We had a fabulous time. I got there 20 minutes before my family and they sat me at our table anyway. We are at 10 am
which is a bit early but it was Chinese New Year and by the time we left at noon there was a long line waiting. The food was very good as was the service and there is an elevator that takes you into the restaurant.
Great food great service great atmosphere! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Decent food but you’re mostly here for the Chinese banquet hall experience. I’ve definitely had better food elsewhere, and it is kind of difficult to get servers’ attention because of all the people. But the dining area is unique and it’s great for large groups
I actually ordered for delivery so I am unsure about how the restaurant’s atmosphere is, but I’ll give them 5 stars for it anyway. The food we got delivered were so good and everything was accounted for. Will def order again and would also recommend to everyone.
It was a family and friends dinner the day before the wedding. We all shared the dishes that came rapidly one after another. The food was fresh and tasty. I personally liked steamed shrimp dumplings. For desert, we had puffed sesame balls with lotus seeds paste, and red beans soup. I never had it before, and i liked it. I never saw the menu because it was arranged and paid by groom and bride. Thank you very much, J&J 😊
Love the food, yummy. Came with a group of 4 on a Sunday lunch. Got seated on second floor so we walked up the stairs. The staff don't rush you once you are done with food.
Absolutely fantastic food! The service was great and the atmosphere was pristine. This is one of my favorite meals I have had in my life to celebrate a wedding. Would recommend and will return when I can.
There aren’t too many options for dim sum in Chinatown and the ones available are just average. However, Golden Unicorn is definitely stands out from the rest. The food is fresh and authentic. All the typical dim sum items are available here and cooked perfectly. I especially liked the crispy fried taro dish. It’s lightly fried and maintains its flavor.
Price: On the pricey side. Three of us ate for 70$ after tip and we didn’t eat that much. My aunt told me it’s more expensive here than other dim sum places.
Food: Food was good, pretty fresh but nothing insane to brag about, other than it wasn’t bad.
Service: The manager helped clean tables and dim sum carts were ready and available.
Environment: Because the cost is higher here, there was no wait. We went to another spot and it was at minimum a 30 minute wait. Tables were clean when we arrived and table placement wasn’t too crowded.
A solid dim sum spot with a good selection of dishes and experience of the large banquet hall seating. We stopped here for lunch, ordering a number of dishes to try and share. Based on portion sizes, this was probably enough to share for three, but plenty for two. The dishes were flavorful, cooked well and filling. The service was great, as they were able to seat us with relative ease and took our order and brought the dishes out efficiently. Pricing was reasonable too.
I chose this place for the dim sum carts. My kid likes watching and picking up them. It is definitely delicious too.
Just had a party there and the service was very fabulous. They gives us whole 5th floor for our event. Angela was very helpful and help us from the beginning to the end. Off course the food tasted very good and my friend said it tasted as good as Toronto restaurant. Highly recommend for gathering.
Price was reasonable and most of the dishes were served within few minutes. Dim sum was really good and delicious! We were here during weekday, and there were only few tables. We both prefer having a nice and more quiet lunch, so it was perfect for us. Because most of the time those Dim Sum restaurants were packed with people. Anyway, it was very nice and we will visit back soon.
Exuberant, exhilarating place to eat great food in the nation's second largest Chinese community. Excellent service, great prices! Must go@
FOOD:
1.) Ha gow Shrimp dumpling
2.) Cherng fun long noodle roll
3.) Cha shu Bao = yummy white fluffy outside w sweet inside
4.) Dan tat egg tart = yummy but three very small tarts, flaky crust
5.) jook rice porridge
I’ve eaten here many times and I appreciate the dimsum all day and they are one of the rare spots that actually have a ice porridge and long noodle rolls, two of my favorites. Overall the food has always been enjoyable and that’s why if in Manhattan, I will dine here again repeatedly.
SERVICE:
It’s fine. Always appreciate the bottomless tea at Chinese spots mmm…
ATMOSPHERE
I also like that they have different levels, I like windows w a bit of a perched high up feeling and overall had a Chinese banquet dining hall feel with the red platform stage in the front for the bride and groom phonic and dragon, the chandelier lighting, white table clothes, round tables, you know.
