Mouth watering Italian food. Reminds me of the little family run trattoria's found in the towns of Italy. At the top of my list when I come to NYC. Small and quaint but you can't beat the quality for the cost anywhere in New York City.

Tiny restaurant nestled away in mid-town. I got their daily special: Penne ala Vodka, and added lobster. Great food, but the service was lacking, took about an hour to get our food in a 6 seat restaurant.

Magnifico!. This Italian cafe is well worth a visit. We had the 'signature' spaghetti lobster and it was delicious!! One of the tastiest pasta dishes I've ever had! The cafe is cosy and the service is simple (but effective) so don't expect too much in that regard, but the food is mouth watering. You won't regret it.

Outstanding! Fresh ingredients, lots of history. Tight environment, we got lucky and got a table for four. Well worth visiting.

I'm so glad my friend told me about this little Italian cafe!!!! their food is to die for, fresh and tasty like being in Italy.
This place looks beautiful, the style is organic, charming...at its best! wood, old tins and reclaimed barn wood everywhere! it's a surprise in a surprise, walking on Madison avenue you wouldn't expect to find such a rustic Italian place, like making a turn in one of this little cute street that I love in Firenze!!!!
Must try the spaghetti lobster....mmm....delicious! the pasta is cook al dente, just perfect, and the lobster is juicy and tender, you can taste the olive oil and fresh basil, so good, nice touch the bruschetta!!! I'll definitely be back to try the rest of their menu! the vegetarian lasagna looks amazing! They do not offer a lot of dressing choices, but the balsamic vinegar from Modena in organic olive oil is one of a kind!
By the way they sell great capuccinos!!!! I just had mine, I know, I know you should never order capuccino after 6 p.m. but I'm a big fan!!!!

Ciao Piccolo!

Great little hole in the wall kind of place. Very vintage and hip ambiance. Good food, italian inspired. Seating is a bit smushed but other than that it's great. The music playing in the background is almost exactly what I have on my ipod, so they have a good taste in music :)

Service: It is more self-service, so can't really comment on this. Ambiance: Imagine outside in central park with the tables and chairs, really chic and minimal. Well that is exactly what is in the interior of this establishment. I'm not talking about the feel, but the actual physical tables and chairs. It's a nice touch aesthetically, but it's not that comfortable for the indoors. It looks nice, but it doesn't feel nice. Food: Truffle and egg sandwich This is my first time having truffle on an egg sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Definitely something I would recommend anyone who likes truffles to try! Overall: Everything was fantastic minus the chairs. I can see why this a nice spot for locals or people on the go, but most likely would not return again just because it didn't have that "special feeling" I would get where I connect with the food/place.

Assortment of delicious lovingly-made breakfast sandwiches (that come with a medium coffee) and pastries. No wifi, but you won't need it with the great people watching on Madison Ave.

I love this place! Great and authentic (there are plenty of italians) pastas and paninis. I used to go there twice a week for lunch when I worked in the area. The place is small (piccolo) but you might be able to find a table.

It's pricey. It costed $15 only for a sandwich and soup. But tastes good.

I go here for the coffee (which is really good) and an everything bagel with cream cheese in the morning since my work is around the corner. I really like it, and it's a good price. Shockingly great bagels too. They crisp it better than most places when they toast it and don't overwhelm the bagel with cream cheese. The staff is interesting and they clearly have a lot of regulars. It takes a while to get your food. I'll definitely have to try them for lunch sometime.

This place has been permanently closed since at least March 2020. I live a block away from it and have tried to get google to list this as closed but they keep responding with "unable to verify". Attached are photos of the shop window with a "For Rent" sign prominently displayed. Additionally, their phone as listed by google is disconnected.

We were trying to look for a nice place to eat in NY that wasn’t a boring chain restaurant and we stumbled across here! Really cute restaurant with nice atmosphere and delicious food! I personally got a veggie panino, which was really good. My Italian friend got cacio e Pepe and she says it was some of the best she’s had outside on Italy! Reasonably priced too! Would really recommend

Was looking for a unique New York food place and this definitely fit. I can't eat gluten which generally makes it harder to eat out, but I was surprised by amount of gluten free options (I had almost the whole menu available to me) Good prices too. Would definitely visit again

Very charming place and you’d walk right past it if you didn’t pay attention. The wallpaper has old Italian style newspapers as part of the decor. Limited seating but never had to wait for a spot - seats roughly 15 people. The menu is plentiful but not overwhelming. Definitely go for the paninis, especially the eggplant one. Also tried the ravioli which was lackluster; the sauce was boring and reminded me of a chef boyardee flavor.

Loved the pesto pasta which was the only vegetarian(no egg) pasta they had. Quite a long waiting during lunch hour on weekday. Not much space to sit but you can walk down to Bryant park.

I've gone here at least a dozen times for lunch, and probably a dozen more for coffee. The pasta and sandwiches are excellent. The coffee is pretty cheap, relatively speaking; and decent, too. True Italian style.

The wait was much longer than we were told. It's a VERY small hole in the wall, but the menu was impressive. I got the signature steak and my wife got the green foccacia sandwich with side of brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious. The sandwiches came out hot and my steak was fresh. And the John Legend music in the background was just perfect! Would highly recommend.

It's big portions for a small price, 11 dollars for all pasta (gluten free substitutes are an extra 1.50), paninis are $11, gourmet eggs are 6 for a half and 11 for full, salads are 11, and etc. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting a bite to eat for lunch.

Four blocks away from the Empire State Building is one of the 4 Piccolo Cafe in NY, a must-visit place to have a cup of Italian coffee and eat something really good, whether it's for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner! Fun little cafe with great desserts and pastries. It’s very tiny with small tables and is open in the evening. Our family loved the chocolate mousse.

Yummmmy. Came here for lunch, the place was packed with takeout ppl and sit down ppl. My friend and I both stayed and had the gnocchi and asked for it with parmigiano. It was heavenly. The sauce was delicious. The gnocchi was excellent. And just like that this became my new favorite lunch spot. I want to try everything on that menu, but I may take it to go next time. The seating area is really tight and kind of difficult to secure a table during lunch time.
