Good and big coffees. The view from inside is impressive because you get to see the huge Rockefeller Center from down there
Great selection. They have stations for each type of food. I have only been there twice, but each time was very good. It is nice with a group of people because everyone can get what they want. The first time I got a great salad bowl and the second time I got a personal pizza. Both were yummy.
I stopped by here for lunch on a cold day. The setup of the cafe was a little confusing, but I figured things out after a few minutes. I ordered the Thai chicken wrap and a cup of lentil soup. The chicken wrap was delicious- perfectly crunchy lettuce, the right amount of lemongrass dressing, well-cooked chicken, and a non-soggy wrap. I would definitely buy it again. The lentil soup was not terribly impressive, but hot and well-seasoned enough to make a good addition to lunch. Lunchtime is definitely busy- there will likely be seating available, but it might be across from a stranger, or in an odd corner of the room. Still, altogether, it was a fine place to sit down, warm up, and eat good food.
lunch time in midtown Manhattan is always challenging everybody's waiting to get food and you have to wait on crazy long lines and it takes forever and your food usually isn't that great because the chef is slapping together the food to accommodate the amount of people he has to serve. however at this location the man behind the counter that serves the food really cares about his job and you could see that he wants to make sure that you have a good experience and that's a good feeling especially in midtown Manhattan.
This cafe is like an oasis, hidden from the hustle and bustle of central NYC only a few feet away. Chefs prepare your food directly in front of you and expertly create dishes to meet your requirements and happily cook off menu. The veganivore is absolutely amazing, recommend!
I used to love going there to get lunch but this location has closed down. I passed by and it’s closed, called in and they confirmed. They have a new location on 46 and Lexington.
I ordered the Chicken Habanero Quesadilla. It wasn't too spicy which was cool either way but very flavorful. Also this place has the best double chocolate pound cake EVER. 😋

Easy lunch spot if you work in the area. Offerings, including the daily specials, are consistent (usually chicken, beef and fish options). They also offer salad, pizza (wood stove), sandwiches, soups and quesadillas. Breakfast options span from bagels (not New York style), eggs, omelets, French toast and pancakes.
I go to this Metro Cafe all the time for lunch - they are pretty quick and have a space to eat inside and outside, which is great when it is nice outside. I am a big fan of their salads and pasta bar. They offer a bit of anything, including paninis, quesadillas, soups, sandwiches, salads and pasta.
I loved it!! They make fresh pasta right in front of you.. so much variety of food from salads to burgers to wraps to even expresso coffee!! Staff is extremely friendly
EXCELLENT FOR CATERING!!! Not sure if this store is connected to the Catering..but I heard they make all their food onsite in midtown. We used to use Guy and Gallard for our catering events..they started skimping and raising prices...and was embarrasing when your 10 people ran out of food after the sixth person passed through the line. Sizes were getting smaller so it became hard to gauge how to order....but I wasn't going crazy..other people at the venue were complaining about Guy and Gallard.... and move away from them. So I got a contact person at CafeMetro's catering dept...and explained what was happening. They promised to give us a taste of what they can do..and boy did they ever! Everything was fresh..the coffee was Lavazza and the portions were more than enough...The pastries were so great...actaully everthing was great..NO COMPLAINTS. My crew and client were really happy. You can see it on their faces! I never got that with Guy and Gallard...ever!
The food is filling and flavorful but service is painstakingly slow (only one cashier during a particularly busy morning rush hour). Prices are reasonable, especially given the location of the place.
Have a breakfast here and you'll have energy for the whole week!
Lovely lunch place hidden underground. Reasonable prices for the area. Went during a busy lunch hour without having to wait for anything too long.
Was very busy when we came here. Maybe too busy, but not for nothing. Food was so good that I know I a,m coming back here for more. But definitely not on the busy hours.
