This place is fantastic. The best lox in the city as far as I am concerned. That being said, everything is great. My favorite thing is the whitefish chowder. I can't stop eating it. It is that good. The decor is amazing as well. Half Jewish deli half swanky Manhattan cafe, this place really ticks all the boxes. A little pricey but the tip is included so that helps.
There's a little bit of wait but it's worth it!
The boards with different kinds of fish are delightful! They come with bread, bagels, cream cheese, and all the fixins. Great option to share. Staff is very nice and friendly. Plus, prices already come with the tip included, so don't need to extra tip.
If you like smoked fish, it is a good choice to visit Russ&Daughters. You can custom make your sandwich or order anything from the menu. There is a big variety of fishes to choose from. If you happen to be visiting the Jewish Museum this place is a very good idea for a lunch break. You have traditional jewish dishes to try out. All the tables were taken, so we decided to take our sandwiches outside and eat them in Central Park which is very close to this restaurant.
Delicious Sunday morning breakfast.
Excellent service and solid takeout as well.
For an extra fee they will package in a tote.
FABULOUS. Excellent bagels, perfectly "scooped." would have like more salmon. The deviled eggs had a touch of caviar - great flavor. There's a "no tipping" policy. I like that. Food was a little more expensive to compensate. In spite of the no tipping, service was very attentive and professional. Highly recommend.
Found!
Russ & Daughters has blessed the Lower East Side since the turn of the century. I recently learned that a purveyor of appetizers relates to food desperation for a Kosher restaurant. Either way, their fish is top notch. They have a couple of benches outside but plan on bringing it wherever you go, especially to your mother’s house!

As usual great experience with their fish boards, only problem is the long wait but one of the best places for an original brunch in NYC.
A must visit in NYC. Close to Central Park and located in the Jewish Museum.
Superb coffee and incredible food served by the most attentive staff.
Bagels were amazing.
Pricy and not much soul, but the food was to die for. There's no tipping, so that lessens the price pain. The staff was very efficient and helpful. Did I mention that the food was to die for?
Art. Traditions. Food. Joy. When traditions are kept alive and treasured, going to the Museum for art and culture, and then enjoying delicious meals from Russ & Daughters is such a gift. It was Christmas Eve and we found a perfect Jewish Restaurant to enjoy a Christmas Brunch. After all, Humanity is one. And we are all the same under the sun. Unforgettable moments at Russ & Daughters. Dejando huellas...Montserrat
