Super simple and sumptuous!. Folks - If you love BBQ and you don't find yourself in Memphis, Austin or Kansas City then you'll just have to settle for Daisy Mae's AMAZING NYC BBQ. The bourbon peaches are a knockout and the dry smoked ribs were super delish. Here is a video to give you a taste of the staff and atmosphere. http://www.marcs-culinary-compass.com/2011/07/episode-66.html
I wish we had this at home!. The Oklahoma jumbo rib was amazing! I have never experienced soft meat that falls off the bone when touched with a plastic fork!! If we had food this awesome at home in Aus I would be as big as a house!
Daisy May's BBQ. Stopped in here last week while I was in town for the Auto Show. Space was a little smaller than I was expecting but no big deal. I got the Brisket which was pretty good, a few of my slices were a little tough tho. I also tried the Mac N Cheese and while it didn't look great it sure tasted great. I also got the beans with burnt ends and they were pretty good but it didn't have a single piece of burnt end in my entire cup. Overall a nice BBQ place but I have had much better in my travels.
Awesome!!! Brisket BBQ Sandwich is amazing!
Different but good. Had the pulled pork which was a little different considering they didn't use a lot of bbq sauce but, the unique spices and juiciness combined for a nice flavor. the cornbread was ok but, the bourbon peaches were off the hook! I recommend this place for the experience even though it's very expensive
BBQ...in New York?. I never expected to find a place like this on Manhattan Island. The pretty girl outside offering samples of pulled pork was impossible to ignore, and it was good enough to draw us in.
Loved the ribs and the pulled pork sandwich. Enjoyed the staff as well as the great food. The sweet tea in the mason jar was very refreshing on a hot day as well. This is real BBQ and despite the location is worth a visit.
YUMMMMMMMMM. I had the Kansas sticky ribs. WOW. Fantastic. And you don't get cheated on your servings. It is a little expensive, but you don't go away hungry at all.
I'd give a Yankee his credit for this. Seriously, I was...confused.
I already determined during the same trip I encountered Daisy May that I had to concede on the point that New York pizza is the best around. It's not just a saying, NYC pizza is damn good, the best I've ever had and it pissed me off more than anything that that elitist, Yankee New Yorkian tried-but-true "must be the water -crapity-crapity-crap-crap-crap" saying was actually correct....but then came news even more unsettling...
From the South, BBQ is just something that's a part of life, and something I could say is part of my local pride. Kinda like our strawberries and oranges...
But on a trip to NYC with the wife (we were staying around Times Square), she surprised me by taking me to this place one evening. So the wife and I strolled out to Hell's Kitchen, ordered up some food sat down and prepared to be cautiously optimistic.
Its...um. Strange to say that NYC has some damn good authentic BBQ. This is some good stuff. The portions were on the larger-than-average-side, the pork was moist and had a good smoke ring to it and the sides were also delicious. I recommend - no I challenge any fellow southerner in his travels to NYC to try this place out, it'll make you misty eyed for your home state and local BBQ eatery complete with some people partaking in a pig-pickin'!?!?!?!
Daisy May's - a reminder of why I love the wife.
Yes, you CAN enjoy a pig picking on the UWS. This place is great for parties. The food is tasty and you can enjoy either a half pig or whole pig. You forget you're in the middle of NYC for just a bit!
Good tasty beef brisket. I had the beef brisket sandwich for lunch today. It was very tasty with the good slow smoked flavor just like you can get all over Texas! I felt the beef wa great tasting and a good value; the sides taste good but are very skimpy portion for $5 each. I like their BBQ sauce as well. I can recommend this place
This is the best BBQ joint in New York City hands down. Dallas BBQ's and Dinosaurs BBQ need to take some lessons on how BBQ is done right. Loved everything about the meal. Was worth visiting. I am now officially hooked!!!
Probably The Best Q in Town. When I went they didn't serve beer. I picked up a six of frosties at the nearby gas station went back and was simply blown away.
Always gooooooooooooood!. Just go - you'll be happy you did.
The portions were extremely generous and the food was of the highest quality. The ribs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was tangy and not overly sweet. Without a doubt the best ribs I’d ever had. The pulled-pork was also tasty and tender. All of the sides were excellent; in particular, the Mashed Potatoes with Red Eye Gravy was comfort food at its best.
Daisy May's BBQ is a barbecue joint in Hell's Kitchen on 46th and 11th Ave. They also have a BBQ food cart on 50th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. As soon as you walk in, you'll see signs telling you: 1. where to order (to the left) 2. where to pick up your order 3. where to sit The menu is standard, like any other barbecue restaurant: pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and chicken. The list of fixins' Black beans with burnt ends Rustic Creamy Corn with NY State Cheddar Creamed Spinach Mashed Potatoes with Red Eye Gravy Cajun Dirty Rice with Beans Sweet Potatoes with Brown Sugar Bourbon Peaches Collard Greens Macaroni and Cheese Creamy Coleslaw Golden Spicy Corn Bread I tried the Brisket Plate Special, $14 which comes with a nice portion of brisket and 2 fixins'. The brisket was lean and covered with barbecue sauce. Actually one of the best brisket I've had. The collard greens; not spicy like other spots, but was delicious. The creamy corn was almost like a low carb mac and cheese, with c
Daisy May’s is worth the trip outside of Midtown. All of their meats are prepared in the style of a different region which really makes the place unique. Instead of focusing on just Memphis style or Texas style, etc., they mix it up. There are a few quirk

Walked by a thousand times - read about the high end gourmet chef - hunkering down to satisfy gourmand appetites with perhaps the best BBQ in Manhattan - so this time - I entered - carefully analyzed the menu - considered my choices - tasted the creamed c
Happily, she chose Daisy May's BBQ, a place that has been on my radar for ages. It's been mentioned on Midtown Lunch a few times, and I even tried to get to their Wall Street Cart a couple years ago, much to my dismay, right after they'd stopped appearing
