If I could give this place 6 stars, I wouldn't because logically then I could probably give it an infinite number of stars above 5. This place has everything you need. EVERYTHING. You don't even need to know what you're eating. Just say, "small bowl" and any series of numbers between 1 and 6 and you're good. Other hits are all the deserts. Also samosas. Also pakoras. My roommate really fucks with the dates that you can get over the counter. Those will have you shitting real good, and nice. It's delicious, consistent, cheap, friendly, open 24/7, like wtf else do you want? Ambience? Fuck that.
If you like your food made with love then you've come to the right place. There is so much divine energy and blessings in this space. Food is not always about the healthiest option it is about the people who make it and the memories you have together. This place is the best.
Great all-vegetarian Indian food and always open!!
One of the best places in NYC to get authentic delicious Indian food. The food is here is delicious and reminds of food my grandmother makes in India. The price is also extremely reasonable. It’s definitely worth visiting. Great food that is easy on the wallet.
Simply put, this is a small deli with a good following.
They sell pre cooked meals here that change everyday.
The food is ok. Not exciting but filling.
The place is popular because of Kate night drunk youngsters needing a spice food fix. You go you eat. You don't go you didn't miss much.
Love love love this place!
Facts:
-100% vegetarian

Seriously...what more could you ask for? For a whopping $6 (less than what you'd spend at Chipotle) you can get a huge serving of rice with 3 veggie sides and have leftovers because you'll be that full. If you're into spicy food, this is the place for you. Amazing!
Cup of chai, pakora curry, and aloo paratha! 24-hr option for tasty and affordable food. If you're still hungry, top it off with kulfi on a stick from the freezer.
Neverending line of Indian cabbies driving up, chatting, getting food, and heading off. Great aloo tikki, samosas, spicy dal, and a stewed cabbage and pea dish.
I personally have a soft spot for the chickpeas, but pretty much everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious. And here’s another tip: I didn’t find this out until much later but they’ll put yogurt on top if you ask. (Make sure you ask.)
Before it became fairly popular a few years back, you might only see a "foreigner" in Punjabi if you looked into one of the mirrored walls, but now it seems to be a well-known favorite in the area. The good news is that it still caters to the taxi driver set and the quality remains constant. It's best to have a few things to scoop up with your roti , so get one of the specials (2 items and roti cost $5, below) The two picks on the plate above are curried okra and a chickpea stew, of which I am not sure the name of either. Sometimes the dishes can be overly salty here, but sometimes they are spot on. We had one of each on this occasion, but the saltiness is actually not a killer. The breads are fresh, which makes it all the more worthwhile to grab a few, as well as some pastries. The atta pinni (below) are only $1, and very good. It is simply fun to be here, and that says a lot. It's just counter space, and you have to wedge yourself some room in between hungry cabbies, but everyone is
