I like this bar. They’re doggie friendly so you can bring your pup inside and chill with other patrons. There’s been at least one or two other dogs when I’ve went and people have been welcoming. People who come here are familiar of the dog friendly policy which is nice. On weekdays it’s nice, you can meet a friend and have a quieter time at the bar with your pup. On weekends it can be pretty packed. During summer months during the day, it’s absolutely crazy. There’s a long line to get in so it’s not really ideal to go when it’s really busy. There’s a patio so you can chill with a group. Most people are locals from the neighborhood and some aren’t too far. Drinks are cheap. Service is decent.
Great Beer. The beer selection and atmosphere here are fantastic. My only criticism is that at 4:00 in the afternoon, I found the service to be a little slow. A small but perhaps unimportant note is some of the beer is not served in the appropriate glassware (Kwak). Nonetheless, this is a great little spot. Be sure to visit its sister location in New Orleans.
... There's Food Here?. I've certainly never seen food here - except for maybe a few slices of pizza smuggled in from down the street.
However, if you're a beer fan - and especially if you're a beer snob, or an open-minded drinker - this is one of the best places in the city. Two cask beers, a wide variety of interesting domestic and imported beers, and a wide variety of things you won't see anywhere else - especially not at such fair prices, and definitely not with a lovely rear garden.
