Went to a milestone birthday party. The staff was tremendously fantastic and very attentive. The food was out of this world! Such a wonderful variety of food and the white & red wine was delicious at each table. I would definitely recommend Don Pepe's restaurant for a couples, small and large parties! I have been a long time patron of Don Pepe's as I worked downtown Newark for 34 years before retiring two years ago.....Don Pepe's is always a great place to be!
Always a wonderful time! New Years party was phenomenal..never an issue with parking, the food, the staff, the food. We have been to dinner many times and never an issue. Don’t ask for butter with your bread people..it’s not that kind of place..use the olive oil. Remember you treat them well and you will get the same in return.
My husband and I were invited by wonderful friends for dinner last Aug 3. This venue is explicitly warm and vibrant. It is bustling with activity. I like that if you want to get your mind off things. Our dish : the seafood platter, branzino and rack of lamb were just tender, flavorful and herbs loaded. Paired with their refreshing red sangria. Our waiters were attentive and accommodating. Though quite a distance from us, it was so worth the trip! Thank you KEN and MILES ! �
My family and I have been going here for years. The service is always on pointe. The food is delicious and never disappoints. My favorite is the steak and paella, I highly recommend. I just had my sons baptism there and I was extremely happy with the service. My guests loved the food. The bartender Lawrenço kept my family and friends at the bar all night, Mixing some great drinks. Want to thank owners, Luisa and Pepe for everything, they are wonderful people. Thank you Don Pepe restaurant for making my sons baptism a memory we will never forget.
Great food, great service. The octopus appetizer was the best I’ve ever had (even better than what I was served in Spain!) and the seafood platter was tasty.
Excellent food and ambiance. The Sangria and wine were delicious. The food was scrumptious and there is a wide variety from seafood to steaks.Don Pepe's lives up to its reputation of excellent food. The staff were very professional and cordial. They were also very accommodating.
Great place , great attention from the owner in self Don Pepe.. The food is delicious always and if you love stake or see food this is the place to eat. I recommended 100%.

This place had the best Surf and Turf I have had in a very long time
More than enough food. Lobster tail was a very good size and cooked perfectley. The Filet was very large and tender. Very reasonably priced. Here in California this meal would have cost me at least $100. It cost me less than $50
Went there for dinner Thursday evening after picking my daughter up from the airport. Wonderful attentive service. Probably the best calamari I've ever eaten in my life. Nice wine selection very very fresh shrimp everything was delightful.
We haven’t been here since 2007 when we moved down to Florida. And this time when we were back up in NY we made it our business to have dinner here last night. Just as I remembered 10 years ago the food was excellent and served in s very nice portion!

We went to Don Pepe on weekday lunch, because they have their own parking lot, that saves us from hunting for street parking. Even then, we were the 3rd last spot in the lot.
At the entrance its a huge hallway with lots of sitting arrangements. Further inside they have another whole floor for restaurant diners. We got welcomed with some nice warm breads and pepe olive oil. Our server was pretty cut through, read us the long list of specials right away. The food takes a while to arrive, due to the lunch hour rush.
My bronzini was really well cooked, was lots of moisture in it. Despite being bone-in, I enjoyed making my way through the entire fish, it was a lot to eat!! Sadly the sides are boring, a boiled/baked potato, and some broccoli carrots. I did like the broccoli a lot, it had a hint of saltiness, but other were meh! I was surprised to see the fish was such decently priced at $23, was expecting to around $30+.
Overall we had a good meal. We might visit here again, but won’t be that often for quick lunch, since its more of a proper seat and dine place.
Staple in ironbound for steaks and paella. Celebrated my sons birthday here with a mom and son dinner. We had the octopus, escargot, gazpacho for apps. I had the ox tails and my son had the prime off menu fillet.
Today the food was not od his best. I had one of the special starter for today and my arugula was not fresh. Also, another party in the group her meat was a bit stuff.😫
Celebrated my mom's birthday here and they were very accommodating. Everyone loved the food and the service was great!

One of our favorite places in the world. My mom started taking me here since I was 12 and I now love sharing this experience with my husband. Food is consistently spectacular. Servers are kind and so friendly. Best meal ever!!! Easy parking is a super plus in this area.
