The place is tiny, but WOW! What a wollup it packs. Great food, great service, great prices, plus beer and wine! The owner is Moroccan and raised in France. He puts a very well rounded Mediterranean spin on his menu. His Moroccan food is lovingly prepared and tastes like home cooking. We had a sampler of three salads: a Turkish Choban salad, a Moroccan beet salad, and a Tabbouleh salad. All served with warm, crusty Turkish bread and a tiny plate of wine cured olives. Next was Moroccan Harira soup...lentils, chick peas, beef, rice and Moroccan spices in a hearty broth. Our main course was two tagines of homemade couscous, vegetables and meat ( one tagine with beef, one with chicken), and firey harisa sauce on the side. We finished off our meal with Moroccan mint tea and French macarons.
An amazing meal!! From Apps to sangria....to dinner...dessert and cappuccino....every bite was yummy..
The waiter and owner could not have been anymore helpful. Highly recommend!!!
Wonderful food, great service. We had the lamb and chicken tagine. Both were spectacular. The bread was amazing. Nice group of wines available by the glass. Good beer list too. We even had Turkish coffee and baklava. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is a great place to eat. The food was wonderful and the servers were so nice. They even have a kids menu. I recommend you try this place, we are definitely coming back.
Here several times for lunch and dinner. It is a great place. First there is the food, most recently I had the paella and the fish soup, both were excellent. But then there is the atmsphere. You feel like you are guests at someone's table, not a restaurant. They remember you, even when you have only been there a few times, and the owner comes around every night to talk to his guests. Finally, were there for "A Night in Spain" and the Spanish guitar player, Mr. Sedaka ( I don't remember his first name.) had a repertoire that spanned centuries . Thank you all for a fine evening.

I have never had a meal I didn’t enjoy from this place. The owners are so nice and always come out to greet the customers. May favorites are the Morrocan Meatballs, and the patitsio.
We had a great lunch at Olive Tree. They have an excellent menu, friendly staff and a really nice dining room. Thanks.
What a great new place! The food was excellent. I recommend trying the dip sampler. The eggplant dish, Zaalouk, was out of this world.
I've eaten here 3 times now and it was a wonderful and authentic experience each time. I highly recommend the mint tea and the salads are delicious. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable.
Amazing food, friendly staff, family atmosphere. The menu is varied, food is so well cooked, and the staff is so sweet. They never rush you, and are such a great addition to our neighborhood.
A hidden treasure nestled in a nondescript strip mall. After three visits can honestly say they have some of the best food around. Service is always good and the atmosphere is quiet and accommodating. One of our favorite “date night” go tos.
Great people, great service, great food. The owner is a great guy. We go there as often as we can.
This place is a gem. Excellent food, friendly and welcoming ownership and staff, and a very relaxing and casual atmosphere. Highly highly recommend Olive Tree Cafe for any fan of Mediterranean food, or just great food in general. We’ve never had a dish here that wasn’t excellently prepared and bursting with flavor. The Turkish Lentil soup is a particular favorite, also the Mediterranean Salmon. Try here and you won’t be sorry!
This was an amazing meal. The Moussaka was delicious and the atmosphere and service were 5 star
You wouldn't think that this delightful and unasuming place would exist, tucked away as it is in a tiny shopping plaza next to the Shop Rite, but once you find it and step through its doors you will immediately find yourself at ease with its charming Mediterranean ambiance. While in the opinion of this reviewer its probably not as authentic in the cuisine it offers as other restaurants in the area that offer similiar fare, (unfortunately the rice that was provided with my entree was a little bland) don't let that dissuade you. The standout hallmark of Olive Tree is it's excellent customer service. Unfortunately during the course of my meal, I heard one of the other customers complain that they used to offer olive oil and bread and olive and hummus, but they discontinued it. Perhaps if they offered them again and addressed the issue with the rice we might be persuaded to come back.
I love this place so much. I have ordered so many different things off their menu and it is all fantastic. Tonight I tried the steak gyro and tiramisu and I was in absolute heaven!!!!! It was so amazing.
The best gyro I've had in a very long time pleasant experience everytime waiters are nice and management is always nice too. Can't wait for them to reopen.
Awesome food, Lovely people, Great Service. Dinner there was a delight. They have very nice selection of menu from soups, dips and appetizers to main course and tea/desserts. We tried beef soup, meatballs, wings, clay pot lamb entree, Kebab platter and Baklava Sunday. Everything was very good and made to perfection. Clay pot entrees are very well presented. Lamb one has sweeter taste from apricot so just make sure of it before ordering if you like sweetness in your entree. Turkish mint tea was beautifully served in traditional pot. I never had Baklava Sundae. It was an innovative presentation. Would definitely recommend this place.
If you don't stop by this place when you have the chance, you are sure to miss a dining 'experience'. This place is tucked away in Chestnut Hill Plaza in Newark, DE. True to the reviews, the food speaks for itself. The reason behind it is that the owner cares - and it shows. He makes sure to greet and speak to every single customer. Doesn't that make you feel special? Need more reasons to visit? You can consider the welcoming nature of the servers and the owner make sure that they get everything right, the food, the decor, the ambience, and the food ...sorry, did I mention food too many times?
We ordered the following: Turkish coffee (from our experience in Doha, Turkish coffee made and served in copper vessel is a treat in itself. If you like coffee, there is no way you want to miss this) - it was the perfect companion to the Appetizer Sampler (2 pieces each of Falafel, Dolmeh and Spanakopita). For main course we had:
Adana Platter (with seasoned rice) - Traditional Turkish Grilled Ground Lamb Kebab with Spicy Harissa and Tzatziki Sauces. The kebab was juicy inside and lightly charred outside. With the spicy Harissa - the combo was just heavenly.
Spiced Rubbed Lamb Chops (well done and with a side of grilled veggies) - words won't do justice to how good this was. You have to try it to believe it. You always have the option of telling how you want the lamb chops to be 'done' - so, take your pick!
The kid had Moroccan Meatballs with fries (this was so good, that we finished whatever the kid couldn't). For dessert, we went with Baklava - which was, needless to say, as good as a Baklava gets!!
We enjoyed the meal thoroughly. The owner checked with us multiple times personally to ensure everything was going as per our expectations and believe me - everything was well beyond our expectations.
We'll definitely be back to try other items on offer.
The exterior of this place is so unattractive that we hesitated to enter at the beginning. However, the taste of the food totally blew our minds! I had a lamb with prunes, dried apricots and almonds tagine served with seasoned rice. The lamb was extremely tender and full of flavor, well combined with the sweetness of dried fruits and the chewiness of almonds. Amazing food that is highly recommended!
