Fun place to shop-I could have spent a couple hours looking around. Wish there was one in Ohio!
We had the pleasure of working with Carol in the floral department at Stew Leonard’s in Newington, Ct. for our Bouquets, Boutonnieres, and decorative flowers for our wedding. When we received our order the day before our wedding the design of our flowers were everything we ever imagined. Carol allowed us to add some personal touches, such as a charm with my grandfather’s picture who had passed away, a piece of my mother’s wedding dress, some hay and cotton as well to give them a more rustic feel. Excellent prices for chicken breast and ribs this week which prompted our journey from. Hamden to. Newington. Loved the complimentary ice cream cup for spending over $100 .

This is the best grocery store I've ever been to! They have amazing baked goods and a very entertaining store! It's definitely worth the 45 minute ride to shop here!
Stew Leonard's is a treat. I feel like I'm on a ride at Disney world, its just a good feel. I like the choices, freshness and reasonable pricing. The Deli section and Seafood section are both great, fresh, efficient. I stopped in for some lobster meat but ended up getting lobster 🦞 salad🥗 instead and glad I did, it really hit the spot and it's 95% lobster. I got .505 lbs at $32.99 lb - total $16.66
Stew’s ice cream is my favorite. Great place to shop for those unique grocery items, especially for entertaining. And they have best price on Rao’s Sauce. $5.99 for 32 ounce jar
The main reason I go here is for their coffee. I love so much about this place, and could write a very long blurb about how amazing their selection of veggies and fruit are and how fresh...to how amazing literally every section of the store is...but I will stop at the first thing you get to in the store. Come here for their coffee!! Get a bag of the Chocolate Truffle fresh ground. You will never need a Starbucks or Dunkin again! And the staff are pretty cool too!
very aesthetically beautiful grocery store with unique and rare groceries that aren't available elsewhere. a bit pricey but worth every extra penny just for the convenience of one stop shopping. if you have children, you absolutely MUST try a loaf of rainbow bread! only 4 bucks
I love Stew Leonard's! There's always so much to see. And it's very entertaining. They have a great variety of everything you can imagine. They have a great selection of flavored coffees that you can grind yourself. I purchased chocolate raspberry. My favorite! And I can't find it anywhere else. We love their seafood department! Very fresh seafood. They are the only place we go for our seafood. They have all kinds of freshly prepared meals and side dishes. They have freshly made donuts and pastries, grinders, pastas, seafood salads, grilled seafood, ready made side vegetables, platters, etc. And they have a ice cream shop! What more can you ask for in a grocery store? The staff is friendly and the store is clean and tidy.
We order thanksgiving food for 8 people. Food was delicious. We also buy shrimps and other things. Pie was also great. We had a problem because they give us Turkey and it was a hole in the silver thing. It messed the table and oven. Also when I was picking up the food women told me to go around the building with a signs for pickup curb. So I drive to the spot for pick up just to find out that they closed and I need to go back where I was …
