Beer flight I had was great, lots of variety and good beers. The food was pretty good as well. Our favorite dish was the jumbo pretzel followed by cheese curds. The cheeseburger was also pretty solid, nothing crazy just a normal burger. I didn’t like the mac and cheese but my SO thought this was her favorite.
Great place, when I lived in Normal this was my go to place after a bad day at work.
Lots of great things on the menu and the menu changes to keep it from getting boring.
Problem is you'll always see Rivian people there, when they are slow staff stops at tables too often to take stuff and when you do a kiosk order(literally doing everything yourself) the default tips are pretty high.
Such a cool space with great food and amazing beer!
We happened to stop by when they had a Deadhead event going on for a new beer release and it was such a cool experience to see everyone come together to celebrate.
We were visiting from out of town but went back the next day for lunch too because we knew the food and service was good.
The only downside is that they aren’t open very late.
I'm not from the area but was in town for a meeting and our team was having an outing here. I am not really a beer consumer, but I do like to try new things and was excited about trying something different!
I tried their apple cider and so glad I did! It was delicious. Their food was delicious as well!!
When visiting, if this is your first time, you will want to note that orders are placed by the bar and not at your table. Menus are provided and can also be scanned via QR code. When you are ready to order, you proceed to the order area inside. A line quickly forms once they open, but it does move rather smoothly and fast. Also, you will want to have your order ready to provide once you reach the counter. I would recommend looking at the menu at your table first and the proceed to the line with your order and/or any questions you may have once you are ready to order.
I gave this restaurant four stars because of the service. From the moment I walked in, to the end of our night the service was alright. Some staff of the was friendly and knowledgeable while others were not really friendly (like the one taking my order). Additionally, I felt rushed when placing my beverage order and the individual taking my order appeared bothered by the questions I had about their selection. (Which is out of sorts since one has to wait in line and there didn't appear to be any other place to ask questions).
The food here is excellent made up for the service. It was not too long of a wait for the food to arrive at the table, either.
Excellent experience for lunch! I have had several of the Deadhead series IPAs before, all excellent, so wanted to take advantage while traveling through the area. For lunch I had the Steal Your Haze Deadhead Series, it was a great IPA. My wife had a taster rack with a helles, hefe, blonde and cider and she enjoyed them all. I had the ancho chicken salad which was fantastic and the other meal was the catfish sandwich special with clam chowder, both really good. The food came out fast and hot and our server Ellie was very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and would definitely stop there again.
The food here is so unique. The brewery puts their own little twist on each dish and it’s remarkable. The dill pickle beer was rather tasty but the pale ales were my favorite
Absolutely amazing! Gordon Ramsey would be proud! Super simple menu and easy way to order. Food was amazing and delicious! Forgot to take pictures of the food before we ate. 😅 Would recommend if your in town. A must stop! We are not from around here but are returning soon. We will definitely be coming back!!
Place is great for families, groups, and individuals. Easy to order, food is great, lots of beer choices. Outdoor space is perfect for kids and dogs. Lots of indoor space as well.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Their food is always fresh and they have excellent portion sizes. The building is huge, so there is always plenty of space. The Barrel Room is also quite large and great for special events.
Never disappoints!! Every dish satisfies. Love the appetizers and the beer lemonade. It's so relaxing to sit outside by the lake on a nice day.
Cozy ambiance. Food is so delicious everytimecwith seasonal specials. Beer is always great.
What an awesome location for both craft beer and unique food. Great indoor and outdoor seating choices. Good is ordered at the counter then picked up at the counter. Beer can be sampled before ordering. Our food was fantastic. Staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely. Food was delicious and so was the beer. Sat outside with our dog, plenty of shade and able to watch the ducks and geese in the pond.
What a cool space! They have great outdoor seating and dog friendly which is a big plus. This is counter service place... you order and pick up your own food. We did not sample the beer but the food was very good. The pretzels are big and fluffy. Highly recommend the Sunday only fried Chicken dinner. Recommend this spot as it really stands out in Bloomington. It is very similar to Surly Brewing in St Paul, MN.
I brought my girlfriend here for lunch on Valentine's Day. We planned on spending the whole day in Bloomington and this was our first stop. I was looking forward to trying this place being that the Destihl restaurant on Towanda is one of our favorite places to eat in Bloomington. I quickly learned that this particular location isn't anything like the other location. It appears that the menus are different between the two and ordering process was a bit confusing at first. We navigated through it just fine once we realized everything was done through the touch screens at a kiosk. I ordered the grande grilled cheese with bacon and a side of tomato soup. My girlfriend ordered the buffalo chicken paillard salad. We also ordered a side of gose chips. Although the chips were cold and chewy everything else we ordered was excellent. Not a whole lot of interaction from staff in general however I did talk with the bartender and she was incredibly nice. The atmosphere was very clean and nicely decorated. Bathrooms were clean as well. Our meal came out to just under $40 which was very reasonable. Overall it was a good experience. I happen to like the other location much better though and they have a Cuban sandwich there that's worth driving to Bloomington for.
This is a really neat place to eat or just hangout. They serve a brunch on the weekends. We went to a vendor market here and stayed and ate afterwards. They had a fire going that you could sit by if you were cold. The steak tacos were amazing! You order and pick up your food yourself. There were lots of families with young children hanging out eating brunch.
