Very classy yet reasonably priced food. Great quality and quantity food. Loved the flavor of our dishes and definitely coming back again. All servers and staff were friendly and great as well. New favorite restaurant

Service is 6/5. I recommend so much (this is the PERFECT date night spot). SABI OUR SERVICER WAS LITERALLY SO AMAZING!! She was kind, attentive, and she handled my thousands of questions with professionalism. She gave me such clarity on the menu.
I ordered the blueberry martini, my boyfriend ordered the Bombay cocktail as well. Both drinks are a 1 and done. Great drink for $15. We ordered the shrimp for appetizer and it was so FRESH and FLAVORFUL - please get it. I ordered the Yellow Crab Curry for my entree, but subbed the crab for shrimp. My boyfriend got the lamb shank and we shared the garlic naan. —— as an Indian food lover, the naan was the best I ever had and my boyfriend truly regretted not getting the Yellow Crab curry because it was delicious. His shank was flavorful as well. I asked for my curry to be spicy and they made it with just the amount of spice. My boyfriend and I live in Temple Hills which is 45-50 mins away but we took a chance and tried this place and I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. That’s how good it is. This is my boyfriend’s favorite place now that we went. I love Joyti in Adams Morgan but it’s hard for me to pick a restaurant over the other because Joyti has the Kadai Chicken which I absolutely love but due to parking, Commonwealth Indian is absolutely way more easier to get to with a car.
We have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while and definitely glade we finally went! The restaurant was elegantly decorated and had a relaxing ambience. The staff was friendly and took care of our table. We would highly recommend the mango lassi as well as the classic dishes, such as the tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, and malabari chicken if you’re looking for a some spice. Do take note that they close promptly a their designated closing time which for us was 9:30pm. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing food and great ambiance. I got the butter chicken and samosa (not in the menu). They were great, and the wait staff made sure the water was never half empty. Great environment, food, and service. If anything was not great, it was the manager who hovered over our table once we finished eating, and we felt like they wanted us to leave asap.
Had one of the yummiest octopus from here. Nice ambiance and wonderful people.
The biriyani is boneless. I loved that they used white meat for my chicken biriyani.

I had an awesome experience here. The atmosphere is nice and quiet as you’re walking through the restaurant. Service is wonderful without being invasive. The food itself is priced fairly and the portion size is definitely enough to keep you full. I love the mango lassi and their chicken curry.
This has been the best Indian food I have tried so far. It was scrumptious. They had a perfect balance of flavors without making everything spicy. I really enjoyed my dinner here and I'm definitely going back.
Great experience! Booked a private party and the team was so accommodating of our requests. Pratap took our dietary restrictions seriously and provided great substitutions. The food was excellent. Bhaji was perfectly crisp. Lamb and butter chicken were the highlights but all the veg options were great as well. The service was right on schedule. We weren’t waiting around long for our food and we weren’t rushed either. It was just the right pace. The party room was cozy and made for a lovely gathering. Will definitely return.
Out favorite Indian restaurant in this area by far. You get not only delicious food but also excellent service in a beautiful setting for a very reasonable price. From the moment we walked in they really took care of us. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Always checking on you, making sure everything is taken care of. We started with the avocado and mango salad followed by the tandoori octopus. The salad was large and delicious and the octopus was tasty but a bit small even for one person. Then we had butter chicken, chicken Tikka, and chicken biryani. All of them were great and the portions very generous. Their mango lassi is also very rich and full of flavor. We ended the night with some rice pudding and gulab jamun. Highly recommend this place for a solid Indian meal in a beautiful place. We can't wait to come back.
Nothing but great food and great hospitality here. A versatile menu representing several regions of Indian cuisine. Try their lentil soup to start with go on exploring you can't go wrong. Highly recommended 🕊️🌿🍂🙂

Excellent food, one of the best chicken tikka masalas I’ve had, very tender chicken. Excellent service, I asked for hot water for tea several times and they brought it quite promptly and was gracious about it, and even warned me to be careful as it was very hot. The ambience is amazing very light soft music and romantic relaxing classy atmosphere. You can also have outdoor sitting as well.
We were fortunate to go at a time where it wasn't that busy and the service and food was immaculate. Not to say that it wouldn't have been like that during a busy period but it's always nice to be the focus. I am a big fan of Indian food and I make it at home all the time but there are times you want to have it prepared for you and especially when you are traveling. The chicken korma was excellent. The waiter and the owner's attention to detail between the atmosphere and greeting us we couldn't have asked for more. The next time I am down in the area I will definitely seek this place out again.

Just finished an epic meal here. Asked about what's uniquely good there and was recommended the crab in yellow curry, served with some perfect basmati rice.
It was one of the best things I've ever had, and I've had quite a few epic dishes in my life. The creamy savoriness of the yellow curry was complemented with just the right heat, to give it the lift it needed. The crab was succulent, tender and perfectly marinated in the curry.
Also had the mango and avocado salad with pomegranate and the flavor was as beautiful as the presentation.
Also had a great chat with my main man Pratap, really nice fellow who takes humble pride in their superb quality of cooking.
Highly recommended.
