So many choices..and everything looked yummy, even the pre-packaged meals and desserts to go. More than what you'd think of a deli...like visiting a little shop in Italy with all the meats and cheeses hanging around, except its located in the small, quiet town of New Haven, Connecticut. Worth the trip..so happy we visited on the way to Massachusetts.
This place is awesome as far as I am concerned. We drive an hour to get there when I have the need for authentic Italian sausage and cheese etc. They have an incredible amount of cold cuts and cheeses as well as a meat counter that amazes. Their sandwiches and take home entries are really good. They also have all the pastas, sauces and condiments anyone could want. The only thing you have to keep in mind is the physical store is small and always crowded. We love it.
My cousin brought me to Liuzzi's during my recent trip to New Haven. I love their sausage, cheese, and broccoli stuffed bread so much I smuggled a loaf back to Florida!
Tastes amazing reheated!
Best overstuffed subs and wraps in North Haven avg price 9 bucks but its 2 days worth, trust me. Italian prepacked dishes and deserts all made on premises. Suggestion, if you order ahead for your sub you can pick it up and skip the order line which is very long during lunch time. They also have a big selection of Italian coffees although you can get most of these for considerably less on Amazon. Average cost for lunch 14 dollars with chips and drink.
I love Liuzzi's. Love what they offer. Everything is delicious and typically Italian. If you like Italian food and want to either heat up, eat as is, or cook your own, this is the place to go. I have never bought a bad product from Liuzzi's. And the staff is always so friendly and gracious and willing to help. I just ordered one of their antipasto trays, filled with great Italian meat, cheese, and veggies and very generous in their amounts of each. I'm sure my guests are going to love every bite!
I loved shopping in Liuzzi.very clean store.
Good pasta, cold cuts,etc.
All kinds of food. They really have everything and its all from Naples, Italy. Will go there many more times.
All the ingredients you need! Fresh Italian-American! I can't say enough good things about this place. That Little Italy atmosphere without the NYC hustle and noise. We've made antipasti, charcuterie displays and regular ol' dinner with just about everything in the market.
I don't have an Italian grandma, but if I did, I think this is what her kitchen would smell like. As you come in you are welcomed by big wheels of cheese and cures meats, so definitely looks legitimate. Lunch was great, I had the chicken parmesan on a hero sub with mozzarella, and I was surprised by how fast I had a toasted sub in my hand.
