We had pizza, chicken batista (medium hot), chicken parm, chicken piedmonese, soup, caesar salad, and pasta with meatballs. All of it delicious. The kids loved their meals. Service was great. Can't wait to go back and try something different.

The food was excellent. I visited Basil Leaf when visiting family, having moved away from the area 20 years ago. Central NY has some very regional dishes (& bread) that I miss. I was so thrilled to have scrumptious Utica Greens again. I'm picky about the greens, having growing up in a Utica burb & these were delicious, as was the pasta & salad. The service was great & the ambiance was also. I would definitely return again.

We were visiting Syracuse for the National Bowling Tournament and we chose your restaurant for our dinner! First off our waitress Lauren was the bomb!! I wanted her to sit down and join us for dinner! She made us laugh and was by far one of the greatest servers we have ever had! To even make our visit better all eight of us had perfect dinners! Utica greens were phenomenal and something new to all of us! Thank you!

This is always my first pick restaurant to come to. Love everything here . We come in from Auburn once a month for lunch or dinner. We came yesterday ..had your wonderful greens and beans ...excellent ..then my chicken Bastia..which I loved always and yesterday it was cold ... I was so disappointed..I saw another chief and and not your usual chief there . I did not say another just asked for a take out to take home and heat up ... I brought 2 ladies there who have never been there before and didn't want to disappoint them.. First time this has happened so I'm staying with 5 stars... please be careful ... it is do worth coming here

Passing through Syracuse: My first time visiting this restaurant. My sister and I enjoyed a meal together. She had chicken Marsala but complained that the sauce was too runny. I had the stuffed tortellini and it was delicious. Overall, quite happy with our meal and the service. The employees sitting at a table by the exit and talking unkindly about another employee was very unprofessional. I sat beside the door waiting for sister to come out of the bathroom and it didn’t phase them, they spoke freely and frankly about what they thought of their coworkers- must be a rough place to work.

Had dinner with the wife, and the whole experience was excellent! Super friendly staff and waitress, and beautiful ambiance. Food was very good, and the Chicken Riggies were some of the best I've ever had. Prices were in line with other Italian restaurants. Will definitely be returning!

Wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent, I had chicken piccata and my husband had the chicken parm and both dishes were delicious. Our waitress, Candace, was great. She timed our meal perfectly so we could enjoy our wine and we never felt rushed. The chocolate molten cake was to die for. We will definitely be regulars at this restaurant. Just want to add we’re from Brooklyn and my husband is Italian so we know the real deal and this is it!! You will not be disappointed.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a welcoming hostess, our friendly and attentive server Candace was available quickly and checked our table frequently. The food is absolutely some of the best Italian quisine we've had anywhere. Everything was prepared and presented perfectly, portions were ideal, and the value is quite reasonable. Corn chowder with bacon, the day's soup, was ideal in flavor and consistancy. Lasagna will please the most picky connoisseur. We look forward to returning to sample other tempting menu offerings - no doubt everything here will be wonderful. A delightful find, with management who clearly value customer service and quality, which makes this an outstanding choice for dining.

Basil Leaf was kind enough to host our large family (and friends) after a funeral. Excellent service, excellent food. They were very flexible when we added more people to our party. Wonderful atmosphere. Cannot thank them enough for making it perfect.

We are frequent guests at Basil Leaf. Generally, we get take out. Lisa loves the linguini with red clam sauce. She has tried it most places we go and she said this place does it the best. This time she got the shrimp and clams fra diavlo. Two thumbs up! The sauce was fantastic, with a nice little kick. There's a picture of one of the clams to show how big they are. I usually get the pork chops cause I'm boring. The menu online says it comes with apple sauce, but the last few times I got it, there was no apple sauce. So c'mon, Basil Leaf, either make with the sauce or take it off the menu. time I got pasta as a side and chose rigatoni. Spoiler alert, their rigatoni is more like lined ziti. The sauce with this pasta was a bit watery. Soup or salad comes with the entrees, but we aren't very impressed with their take out salad, so we get the soup. It's a good chicken pastina, with nice chunks of real chicken in their. Seems like a nice place to eat, one of these days we'll have to do dine in.

When we walked in we noticed the ceiling was in need of repair so that sort of worried me. The bar is very unique looking so that eased my concern. Our waitess was very accommodating and bubbly. Loved her. The busing our table between courses was efficient. Food was good. I'd go back to try more choices there are so many that sound amazing. With 2 appetizers and 2 meals it was $80. We found to be very reasonable.

Really nice restaurant. Good food choices, wonderful decor, and friendly staff. Nice quiet dining, social distancing is not a problem with high back, booth style seating. The restaurant has been there for a while and when trying to decide where to go, Basil Leaf was brought up. Great choice! I am glad we went.

I was pleasantly shocked with the food here. Having been in the restaurant business my whole career I know high quality dishes when I see them. The baked clams were hands down the best I have ever had and could eat about twenty of them and want more .The fried Calamari was better than most and was obviously cooked in new clean oil with its nice light color yet still crispy. The Utica Greens were nice too even though I don’t like peppers , I was able to work around them and still really enjoy them. My friend and I both had seafood dishes over pasta. Beautiful shrimp and scallops perfectly cooked and the white wine was lovely. I would have preferred a touch more garlic in the dish but next time I will just request that. Excellent service by a young lady named Katlyn made the entire dinner an exceptional experience. Kudos to this owner on their beautiful establishment .

We started with the Utica Greens and they were delicious. I got a salad and the wife got the soup and they were good. I got the Veal Piedmontese ( something new for me)and that was very good. I got a side of meatballs and the were ok. My wife got the Chicken alla Parmigiana and she liked that. Place was clean. Server was nice.

Our servers were amazing and super helpful. The food was good but could have been much better. They were running way behind due to their new system that's been installed. FYI they will charge you for using your card.

We've eaten at Basil Leaf twice. The service has been very good both times. Food and drink orders were taken promptly. Our water glasses were refilled at least twice without asking for refills; I appreciate our server's attentiveness. We both ordered meals and an appetizer. (Meals come with choice of side salad or soup). Curiously, our side salads were delivered prior to our appetizer and bread. The side salads were fresh, but unremarkable, it would have been nice to have more than one cherry tomato in the salad. Our dressings (Italian and ranch) were both very good. When we got our bread, it was warm, fresh and delicious. Two thumbs up on that item. The clams casino was tasty, but there were only 5 clams; a little awkward if you're planning to share that appetizer. (we expected 6 clams). My chicken parm entree was excellent and ample. The angel hair pasta was slightly overcooked. My wife's shrimp scampi was very tasty, but there were only 5 shrimp, and not a lot of pasta. Again, we expected at least 6 shrimp. For dessert we ordered chocolate cake. It was rich with a nice flavor. Based on our most recent visit, I give Basil Leaf a solid 4-star rating. A few minor improvements would swing my opinion of this restaurant "from good to great"!! Try it for yourself!

The calamari was tender, as was the Utica Greens, and nice and hot (spicy) if that's what you like. I had the eggplant parm, very tasty and don't forget about the wonderful service. All n all , a great dinner.
