A staple of the town, have gone to this wonderful store for well over 50 years, and love to watch it evolve, yet at the same time stay the same. The best!
We were just looking for iced coffee. The service and options were absolutely amazing super friendly and delicious coffee. Who could ask for anything more.
McGraths is where my kids have grown up.. 25 yrs of shopping with an ever -changing inventory. The personnel there always have time for you, know your name and history. Terry Renault steers the ship with great leadership and is loved by all, young and old. Looking forward to the remodel
McGrath's is the foundation stone of Northeast Harbor!
I love this store! I've enjoyed being there since I was a child looking for candy, model boats, balsam bags and books. Now, decades later McGrath's and I are still around and I can still find the things I loved and can give to my grandchildren as well newspapers, books (including two I've written), gelato and chai. Thank you Dot, Terry, and everyone in your family who has made me feel welcome for almost seventy years!
PS. I'm enjoying the photographs that give a peak behind the curtain and looking forward to seeing the renovations. Congratulations!
We wanted ice cream after hiking Mt Acadia and this was the closest. They had an outdoor seating area which was nice to sit with our dog. We both had ginger. Price was fair.
Cute little store! Would have loved some gelato if it wasn't out of season. Coffee was good. I appreciated that stationery paper was available for purchase, even though I didn't need any.
Stopped in here randomly while exploring the area. The manager was super friendly. We bought 6 gelatos. Lots of flavors to choose from and were delicious!
Awesome little place in Northeast Harbor. Ice cream, coffee, and a gift shop. Not many people come here because they're all in Bar Harbor. If you're looking for a quieter shopping experience, you should come here.
Delicious Gelato. Fun store with calendars, lovely greeting cards and souvenirs, nice selection of toys and games.
Amazing place where we stopped for coffee in the morning and discovered free internet, nice ice cream, Acadia postcards, extremely hospitable hostess who didn't charge us for coffee because her card-reading device stopped working and - where a gentleman was walking along the street presenting the passing by ladies with freshly cut flowers. What else do you need to feel like you are a part of a fairy tale?!
Fantastic quintessential Maine variety/book store with great coffee. Incomparably charming. Owner is an absolute gem. Amazing Maine topical books like the inspiring true story: Frankie’s Place: A Love Affair, a must read.
Book store, coffee shop, Maine souvenirs. Friendly service. It was the only place I could find my morning coffee in the quaint village of Northeast Harbor on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Most places were closed because it was past peak season and because of Covid. We were there to visit Acadia National Park and were not disappointed. Beautiful.
We were desperate for a good shot of espresso after a great ( non e-bike) bike ride through Acadia. After googling for a place and striking out in Northeast Harbor we saw the sign for McGrath's and walked in... and saw on the menu "affagato" and new we had landed in the right place. The gal who helped us was friendly and helpful. Lots of cute little things to stuff in a suitcase, though shelves were a little thin as it was the very end of the season when we were there. But my Affagato was Perfecto!
I had a nice experience. Bought a delicious moca ice coffee, a small blueberry gelato, and a small chocolat/vanilla (cant remember the name) gelato. Met an extreamly friendly chocolate lab who wanted all the attention. I will deffinetly stop in the next time i visit the island.
