We had an amazing dinner. Our waiter Mark was one of the best and even though he was busy he made time for us.
Highly recommend and we will be back.
The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. Great salads, but watch out, the menu is ever changing, the beet salad and butternut squash soup are seasonal, so keep trying new things, and don’t be disappointed they shake it up a little. Extensive wine and champagne list. The ambience is wonderful and the service is terrific. Also a nice touch is the warm French bread with whipped butter that comes to the table immediately as you sit down.
The food was excellent - I highly recommend the salmon or scallops and our server, Jordan, was professional, efficient, and personable!
Great place to dine in! I recommend reservations for weekends. Food was amazing. Great friendly staff as well.
We both had a favorite salad--pear & endive--and it did not disappoint. My husband had the lamb shank--amazing! I had the beef bourguignon which was out of this world! Service, wine & dessert all outstanding as well.

My mom and I have been coming to the restaurant for a long time now so it was no surprise that she wanted to have her birthday party at the place. The event planner was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and accommodating to all of our guests. The food was great and they even let the kids pick off of the menu. The price was really reasonable for the suburbs. Overall we had wonderful time, food and experience. My mom and a the guests left extremely happy.
PS great French wine selection.
Brad and I visited Mon Ami Gabi on Saturday night and had one of the best meals I have had in ages. Salmon tartare, warm goat cheese with bread and a little tomato sauce, fresh scallops and striped bass. Topped off with some profiteroles. If you are looking for yummy French food and great service, I recommend trying Mon Ami Gabi. <3
Love this place. Our server was Jamie. She made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. The food was excellent. The manager even stopped by our table. I defenitly want to go back!!
Every time I eat here it’s only the best! The service & the food is top notch!

We had passed by this establishment before, not really giving it a second glance, as the location was not where one would expect to find French Cusine. We were however delighted (on the recommendation of friends) to find that the ambiance and service was excellent. The menu is on the "high side", but the quality far outweighed the price point. My favorite adage is "you get what you pay for" and Mon Ami Gabi hit this out of the park. We will be back for sure with More of our friends to introduce them to this amazing place... 5 STARS! Cest manifique!
My wife and I decided last minute to go out to eat somewhere so we head out to Oak Brook to find a restaurant this place was awesome it is a French restaurant we had grilled salmon with sautéed mushrooms on the side and green beans on the side I will definitely be back again soon great place to go out not very far
A great place to bring your family or a date for some very good French cuisine. They have a huge selections of wine you can buy by the bottle to accompany your meal. Just so you know if you go there on a Monday, all bottles of wine is half off. For the appetizers we always have the escargot. Love how it’s prepared and is so tasty. When we dine here we usually have two appetizers with the escargot always being one and for the second, this time we tried the crispy duck confit. The crispy duck did not disappoint, it was so juicy it almost melted in my mouth.
For the entree they have a special everyday along with various steak and seafood items as well. You won’t go wrong with whatever you pick. I personally like there steaks with the different toppings they offer. My favorite is the Roquefort topping for my steak since I love blue cheese.
They have a very attentive and professional staff to make your evening that much more enjoyable.
You will also will not be disappointed with there dessert selections as well. Totally recommend especially after shopping in the Oak Brook mall there.

Lovely lunch experience.
No wait. PRIX FIXE Lunch for $21.95.
Caesar salad, French onion soup, Lunch cut steak frites x 2, and profiterole (vanilla ice cream w/ fudge) and blood orange sorbet.
Also, their French baguette was delicious! $1.95
Ok, I like this place but there something just a bit odd about it. The staff are really nice and trying hard to rock the French vibe but maybe a bit to hard. I had a lunch special and it was a good value but the taste was just off. Not in a bad way but just odd. The butter tasted unusual. The pesto/butter sauce on the steak was again odd. However the food was well prepared. The music was from WW2 France but it was fitting. Just not sure what to make of the place.
I was a bit nervous coming here for the first time due to their pretty small menu, but I was eyeing their salmon and steak online so decided to give it a go! I am SO glad I did! First of all, their lattes are definitely made with a high quality coffee and espresso machine as it was delicious. I decided on the salmon with the basil pesto sauce and it was AMAZING. I am not a huge salmon person but this was fresh, light, and had just enough sauce! 10/10 good. My family was also happy with their trout and corvino(?) I believe. Then we split the berry bread pudding and that was also a knock out of the park. 10/10 would recommend. Waiter was also super attentive, and the manager even have us a big bag of ice to keep our to-go burger cool while we went to the Sistine Art Exhibition down the street! I also hours later was able to steal a bite of the white cheddar burger I got for my boyfriend and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. All in all an amazing experience and will be coming back!
Great French restaurant. Beginning with a great large crispy baguette with butter and veggies. The pea soup with ham and creme fraiche was delicious. The steak tartar served with a side salad was fresh and well seasoned. The creme brulee. espresso and Armagnac complimented the whole meal. I will be back!!!
Everything is delicious. An upscale lunch or dinner that is priced from $10 to $25. Attached are pictures of the escargot cooked in a rich garlic butter house sauce, creme brulee, salmon hash brown benedict, croque monsieur and a cappucino. The waiters bring a loaf of warm crusty bread and butter to each table. Lovely atmosphere.
We attended a baptism lunch here with a large party & I was thoroughly impressed. The staff was amazing and attentive, even with our large party. The food was delicious, as were the drinks. 10/10 would recommend
My wife and I love to eat here, they have the best French onion soup ever!! We are completely satisfied every time we go! Great service, great management, great atmosphere, great food! The warm chicken and brie sandwich is my wife's favorite!
I’m a multi-cultures foodie that spent a few years working in different upscale restaurants. Despite that, each dish we ordered managed to blindside me with a unique, nuanced, and tasty blend of flavors I haven’t ever tried before.
Additionally, the hostess Olivia went above and beyond to accommodate me and save my date (I reserved the wrong day 🤦🏻). Our server Mark was knowledgeable, friendly and funny, so service was 10/10 overall.
If you are a foodie that likes trying new things, this restaurant is a must try.
The waitress was very pleasant and very helpful in making recommendations from the menu and daily specials.
The food itself was great, I had the open faced pork sandwich.
Wonderful French bistro. Lovely lunch experience. No wait. Food is a bit pricey. PRIX FIXE Lunch for $21.95. Caesar salad, French onion soup, Lunch cut steak, frites x 2, and profiterole (vanilla ice cream w/ fudge) and blood orange sorbet. The French baguette was delicious! Frites are amazing. Great lunch for $21.95
We love the food, but we should know that the service could slow down due to Restaurant Week. We watched at least 4 tables of people come in after us & leave before us, though. Then, our dinners came out cool to the touch. They were promptly replaced, but then we waited another 15 minutes for dessert.
We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu, so we thought that dinner would go quickly. We did get one drink comped because we spilled by accident, but we thought that the manager would have stopped by again to check on us.
We won't give up on Mon Ami Gabi, but we will check ahead of time to avoid special events which seemed to throw them off on their service. We don't want another 2 hour dinner!
Really enjoyed dinner here. The atmosphere, service, and food were fantastic. I'd recommend the escargot app and the bone in ribeye. I particularly liked the space between the app and main, the waiter specifically asked if we wanted to relax a bit before out main came out. Felt really nice to not have any semblance of being rushed. Great wine selection and the price for an app, main, and bottle of wine can't be beat.
The food was all phenomenal and very flavorful. The waitress was attentive even with tables in another room. Great restaurant for a celebration. Pricey, but the food is worth it. Some of the escargot were a bit tough
Special occasion restaurant. Moderately pricey. I had the tomatoe salad with salmon - fresh and delicious. Waiter staff is very polite and professional. Goat cheese appetizer was yummy but a bit too sweet for my taste. Mussels and onion soup are great!
The service was wonderful and the food and wine were delicious. We had the trout almondine and Salmon in puff pastry (pictured) and both were perfect. I signed up to receive text message specials so we also had the bread pudding for dessert for no extra charge. We always feel like we get so much for the money here, especially for a french themed restaurant which often tend to be pricey. Mon Ami Gabi is always a great deal and we enjoy the cozy atmoshere as well!
French bistro with great food and French atmosphere. I wish there was more cozy places like this. Only one small complaint the escargot should be served with shells and were a little oily and flavorless.
Sad to hear this restaurant will be closing in a few weeks. Good service and delicious food.
