After seeing the reviews for this place, I decided it would be worth a try. I skipped lunch, so I was starving and it was 3:30 after coming off the beach I called the restaurant at 3:45 and asked, was it too late to put my order in for them to make a sub before four and they were more than happy and willing and told me they will wait for me to get there. I drove up there in seven minutes and my son was handed to me and I brought it back home and it was one of the best subs I’ve ever had.
All of our subs were excellent. The club and the Italian subs were fantastic. Bread tastes very fresh. Everyone was super friendly. If you are looking for a great deli sub, this is the place. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Oak Island.
The subs here are SO good!! The best sub shop around, without a doubt. One of the walls is filled with hilarious sayings that keep me entertained 😂

This is a great lunch spot for those who like subs or salads. The food is good quality and it’s delicious. Far better than any sub you get from Publix. If you order online you can just go pick it up when you’re ready and avoid the line. And there will be a line most of the time! The subs really are good and well made. The owner or manager is always happy and willing to help and cares that you’re happy ! It’s a small local business and they do a great job. The prices are very good for what you get. The only down side is they are closed on Sundays!
The subs here are excellent. They put the chain sub shops to shame. I always go here whenever we visit Oak Island. It's an experience I look forward to.
We got a take out for lunch one day while down at Oak Island last week for vacation. The bread was exceptional, freshly made daily and oh so soft! I loved their chicken salad! It was the minced kind and was just like I like it. Also got a side of pasta salad, which was very good also. All the veggies in the pasta salad were cut up small so they didn't over power it. Great choices, will be back on next vacation!
Large, packed subs. Italian could use more oil and vinegar. Fast and friendly service.
Just picked up 2 california subs, absolutely fabulous. You guys never disappoint. Love your business.

Really good local sub shop. The food tastes great, and the amount of different meats and vegetables was great. My daughter is a vegetarian and the vegetarian selections are great. Their salads are fresh and the bread is baked on site and very tasty. If you're looking for a sub shop this is definitely at the top of the list

I frequent Oak Island to visit family and have always wanted to try out this sub shop. Family members of mine whom are local to the area have advised against this location due to past experiences. I decided to go against their judgment and give it a try anyways and I am so glad I did!
I spoke with Craig during my visit, and I had mentioned that my mother is particular and hasn't visited this location in quite some time. His kindness and charisma immediately put me at ease, and, as promised the sandwiches were made fresh and TO PERFECTION!!
Not only was the service I received exceptional to say the least, but the product was comparable to that of some of the best sub shops I've been to.
Yall are Rockstars and you have certainly made a regular out of me and my family! I'll be seeing you soon!

My favorite sub shop. I always get the deluxe. Turkey, ham, roast beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, salt pepper, oil, vinegar, provolone and extra mayo.
My first time eating here was back in June 2022. It was so good. The bread was soft and fresh. The sandwich had plenty of meat vs toppings. They use a high quality brand of meat. I would definitely recommend this sub shop. I can’t wait to get another next one summer!
If you haven’t tried Oak Island Sub Shop, you are missing out! This was our first time trying the sub shop and we came back a second day because we enjoyed it so much! The bread is made in-house, need I say more? The bread and veggie ingredients are so fresh! We tried the turkey, bacon, ranch sub, the Philly, and shrimp salad. All were incredibly delicious, with just the right ratio of meat and veggies. And I just can’t say enough about the bread!! If we lived locally we would be regulars! I can’t wait to come back next year!
Probably the best sub I have ever eaten!!! Had a grilled chicken parm on wheat (large size.) The sub was huge, the bread was the freshest I have ever tasted, and the sauce tasted homemade and delicious. My wife had the tuna and couldn't get over how great it tasted. Plus the pickles on it were perfect crispy dill! Fast friendly service!
