The Fish House was nice. It was very crowded with long waits. We lucked out that an outside table came open for our group pretty quick but seating inside was an hour or more wait. The sun was in one of our guests eyes and the staff didn't help lower the umbrella or anything which was annoying. The food was really good and the view spectacular. We loved the Oscar Mahi Mahi. The serving size is large so we could have shared 1 entry for 2 people. There is an uncharged if you do that though.
Superb seafood and big portions. Excellent. Flounder was super thick and shrimp and oysters were tops. Fantastic all the way and service was awesome.
Best seafood/regular food ever. Been here many many times and they have never disappointed. Great place to eat so long as you get there early. They open at 5 & if you aren't there early, the hour long wait is worth the food .
We went here during our vacation to Oak Island and it was the best meal we had the entire week. The place was absolutely fantastic. It was super crowded though so I would definitely encourage you to make reservations or go early. I heard their wait can top an hour especially during the summer months. We had a big party so we went the minute they opened and really enjoyed it! I had the shrimp and it was awesome. They also had a great dessert selection.

The steam pot was great! Crab legs, shells, shrimp, crawfish, and more. Corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage to round it out. Service was spectacular as we had about 12 in the party. This is one of my favorite places on the island.

The food on OKI doesn't get any better!! So sad to see the motel raized though; we have so many fond memories of fishing right out our room door.
Best place to eat on Oak Island! Everything we got was top notch! We got the she crab soup, fried seafood platter, and the theme park. Have been there a few times and never lets us down!

Excellent dinner with friends on a Sunday evening. Line wasn’t too long and starts forming half hour before opening. (Make sure your whole party is present) Jumbo shrimp on grilled pineapple was superb. The stone ground grits are delicious as a side. My sweetie had the chicken and broccoli Alfredo and it was delicious. Our side salads were nice and fresh. So glad we finally got to try this place.
We have been coming to Oak Island every summer for over 7 years, and the Fish House is one of the few things we ALWAYS ensure we hit up. There's nothing extravagant or mind-blowing, you won't have anyone coming to do tableside cocktail sauce, but the food is amazingly top notch. The dishes are well executed no matter what you order, with a flavor that is both simple but well managed. Balancing the unique flavors of individual items (looking at you, sweet and sour shrimp with grits), or somehow creating a symphony of seafood with the steam pots, everything is amazing. Word to the wise, though, this place is well regarded locally, and has a huge following. There isn't a downtime. Plan for the wait, and enjoy every moment.
You wouldn't think it would be hard to find a waterfront seafood restaurant that actually serves fresh seafood, but it is. We visited here on April 13, 2019. This restaurant is not fancy, but the seafood is fresh and cooked perfectly. We ate on the patio and enjoyed gorgeous views of the waterway and marsh. The service here was also very excellent. I wish I could remember our server's name, but she was the best. We mentioned we were there for my cousin's birthday, and she brought her a cheesecake with happy birthday written on the plate in a raspberry sauce. Yum! I'd describe this restaurant as fine dining with a beach house atmosphere. We came straight from the beach and didn't feel out of place. I can't say enough about how delicious the food was!! I highly recommend this place.
I love this place and just realized I have never given it a review. The food is some of the freshest, best tasting seafood I have ever had. Yes you have to wait to get a table, but that should tell you something! Just go visit the bar to get a drink and go look out at the water. Staff will always take care of you and the food is worth the wait. There is always some good down home Carolina seafood on the menu with some more fancy specials that will knock your socks off. Cant get enough! Been known to frequent 3 or 4 times a week when I was on the island and im ready to get back.
