For an Italian living in California it is hard to find restaurants with authentic Italian food. I usually strictly avoid the pasta at Italian restaurants in the U.S. because it never tastes like in Italy. I tried the carbonara and the amatriciana pasta at centouno yesterday night and I felt like back home. The torta fritta is a specialty difficult to find also in Italy. I was definetely not expecting to taste one of the best torta fritta in Oakland!
The environment, the table clothes, the menu is all truly Italian. I will definitely go back everytime I feel home sick!
My favorite new restaurant in Oakland. The sausage with onions from the brunch menu is amazing. LOVE IT!
I'm still in the middle of dinner and already compelled to write a review... Not sure if I'm in Oakland or Italy. Fabio is phenomenal, the roman chef is amazing, the food is tender and authentic, and the atmosphere is outstanding. I enjoyed it so much I had to write my first review!
An Italian comfort food gem in Jack London square. My favorites: torta fritta (wow!), housemade potato gnocchi. The chef Pabio is super friendly.
Our new favorite Italian eatery in the east bay--each time we've gone we've been impressed with the great fresh tasting food and comfortable environment
