TLDR: solid quiet local spot for Thai food, reasonable pricing, good flavor + texture + variety
They start you with some edamame for free to munch on while you order. We got papaya salad, which tasted very fresh and had good texture and crunch. Then we had chicken pad Thai and drunken noodles with tofu, which had good spice and a lot of heterogeneity when it came to taste and texture. The noodles were cooked nicely, and they layer their dishes with different elements like peanuts, fresh produce (tomatoes, cilantro, bean sprouts), and your proteins.
Service was nice too, food came out at a reasonable time. The selection of beers were also interesting, would definitely like to try out next time.
Hands down one of the best Thai places in the DC area, if not the East Coast. I haven't had such tasty and perfect Thai dishes for quite a while. The restaurant is tucked in an inconspicuous mall in Fairfax where we have passed by hundreds of times. Only recently we tried it out in the spirit of food adventures. It blew my expectations out of the water. I had panang curry with pork. In most other Thai places the pork can be really dry and tasteless, but not here. The pork was marinated, tender, juicy and consistent with the curry soup. There are a variety of fresh vegetable ingredients in the soup, giving a premium feel of the dish. I felt like a Thai royalty dining here. All other dishes my family ordered came out beating expectations, showing the consistency of the qualities. We will definitely be back.
The food is gorgeous and delicious. We had the green curry stir fry with tofu, the ginger chicken stir fry and Panang curry with chicken. I think it’s the best Thai around!
This is the best Thai food I've had in a long time.
Beautiful and clean inside restaurant, super polite and awesome staff. More than reasonable portions. And the food is just to die for.
I just had the pleasure of dining at Kob Kun Fine Thai Cuisine for lunch and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was cosy, creating a very comfortable and inviting dining experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well, which made the whole experience even better. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine in a welcoming environment. Overall, Kob Kun Fine Thai Cuisine definitely exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to come back for another meal soon.
This is one of our family favorite restaurants. I always get the crispy duck. My sister always gets the sukiyaki. They never disappoint. Food and drinks always come out fresh and deciduous. Definitely get the calamari for appetizer and Thai iced tea to drink. The free edamame they bring out is cool too.
The best Thai food I've eaten for a while. Definitely recommend eating here when you have the time!
Great dining environment and service. Flavors tend to be on the strong side. We enjoyed most of the dishes shown. The Crispy Duck was very tender, but the seasoning isn't what we'd expect.
The food was delicious! The staff so nice. I had the crispy duck with basil. It was amazing. I said to myself that I would try something different, rather ordering the same dish. I am so glad, I branched out. I've Thai food at a number of different places in Maryland. I took myself on a small road trip and stopped here, I am so, so glad I did.
Gluten Free Cashew chicken was great! Watch out for the spicey peppers! The rice was really small but they gladly bring more. The Pad Thai was a hit amongst the adults and kids. The staff is REALLY nice! Very friendly place.
