My wife and I decided to try it out today, seen comments on one of our Facebook groups. Definitely worthy of the hype, I had the coca cola Mel's burger. Burger was juicy and perfectly cooked. The missus had the rivere Canada, she loved it and the bbq sauce with get fries. To drink we had milk shakes, mine brought back memories of ice cream parlors from my childhood. Definitely recommend.

Loved it! Expansive vegan menu and the staff understands and respects vegans and their diet. Great food! Had a vegan egg burrito. Definitely recommended!!
I NEVER write reviews, good or bad, but I had to say how grateful I am that someone is making an effort to bring vegan food to Ocala. This place is awesome, the people are great and the food was even better!
Thank you for having such an amazing vegan menu! I finally got in to try the diner last week and was really impressed. The vegan not chicken waffles and not so chicken philly were both excellent! Vegans really appreciate good options like this. I will be sure to stop by any time I'm in Ocala.
Awesome food and service! Chris and Nina are a couple of the best restaurateurs in Ocala. I'm a huge fan of their place called Ocala Fresh Produce & Deli across the street and I eat there several times each week. The new Diner is equally as awesome! I'm a big fan of spicy food, and the Waiver Burger was OUTSTANDING! The "S-curve" fries here are also uniquely delicious, and this is the only place in the area to get them. Go check them out!!!
Gluten free pancakes are fluffy and taste just like regular ones! šš our server was awesome too. Very attentive and had a great personality. Canāt wait to come back!
Had breakfast there on Friday, and everything was excellent My husband is very particular about his food and he was impressed. He had. eggs, potatoes, sausage and toast and I had an egg white veggie omelette. Our waitress, Shawna, was friendly and efficient, even when busy, she kept checking back with us!!! The owner, Chris came over to check on us twice and truly seemed interested in what we had to say!!! Will definitely be back!!! .
Ive been vegan for 6 months & was EXTATIC when a friend told me they had a full vegan menu as well as regular! I ordered the "Dirty Vegan" which is a vegan BBQ sandwhich with a side of fries & vegan ranch (which taste like bloomin onion sauce) YUM! Will definitely be back! ļæ½ļæ½
Had breakfast here on opening day, service and food were excellent! Veggie omelette was fresh and grits were some of the best Iāve had!! We will definitely be back!

Mom & I stopped here for breakfast on a chilly Saturday morning and what a find! My sweet potato pancakes were dee-lish & mom said her eggs were cooked perfectly (which rarely happens) and her Belgium waffle was a blend of fluffy and crispy. Can't wait to work through the rest of the menu (it'll take a while - there's lots on there). A nostalgic remodel of a sweet little diner - cozy and neighborly, for sure.

We were in town for an event and visited here for a late breakfast. This was the quintessential small town diner with delicious food, friendly staff and excellent prices. The biscuits and gravy was outstanding and the pancakes were generous in portion and perfectly cooked. Don't forget to try the spuds!
We are so glad we came across this place and if we find ourselves in Ocala again, we will be back!

We visited Ocala Downtown Diner on a weekend, late summer 2023. This is an eatery that is open for breakfast and lunch. They are open everyday and close at 3pm most days except Sunday, where they close at 2pm. They were pretty busy when n we visited, but not overly busy. There were tables available. We were promptly seated with menus.
There were two menus. One for traditional folks. One for vegan followers. I didn't look close at it, but the vegan menu looked to have a fairly good amount of choices. So I'm guessing that this might be a good place for these folks to get a meal. The traditional menu wasn't huge, but adequate.
We ordered our meals, which came out fairly quickly. I will say that everything we had was quite good. I asked the folks at the next table, and they said their meals were also good. They looked good, that's why I asked.
The diner seemed reasonable clean, but they do allow dogs. There was a customer who brought in a well behaved dog, while we were there. He was very respectful as well and posed no issues that I could see. Some folks may not care for animals while eating. But it wasn't an issue for us. Especially when the customer(who was nice) and his dog were respectful to others.
They had individual male/female restrooms, which also seemed clean. All in all, the Downtown Diner, is smaller and a little tight. But not to the point of folks feeling uncomfortable. It does make it easy to speak with the tables next to you :)
Old time diner; quaint. Food was good, but service was extraordinary. Place was almost filled, but able to order quickly and got food in timely fashion. (Their waitresses really hustled and moved quickly to handle the crowd. Kudos. Made the visit worthwhile.)
Excellent vegan options and fantastic fast service! Sat outside in front on a rickety table that hopefully got replaced. We got the impossible burger, impossible Philly, smothered stuffer and a waffle. Everything was delicious. The grits could have used some salt. The bread on that Philly was soft and perfect. Standout was the waffle, one of the best ever! Our server was great! Highly recommended for delicious diner food!
The VEGAN menu was the most extensive we have experienced!! The service was PERFECT!! WE arrived 35 minutes before close and never felt rushed...we even took food home. Chef kiss DEF will be back!!
A local suggested this place for breakfast. I was super excited to arrive and see that they had a HUGE vegan menu in addition to their regular menu! Shake and food was delicious. Service was phenomenal everyone was so nice!! Will def be back next time Iām in town.

Very friendly customer service! Dog friendly! Gluten Free menuā¦French Toast, Pancakes, and Waffles! I had the Texas Waffle which comes with grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, two eggs your way, bacon or sausage, atop a delicious waffle! So yummy. I recommend getting over medium eggs over the waffle. Decent coffee. Great place overall!
I used to be a strict vegan, now I do eat occasional fish. This is the only restaurant in Ocala that I know of that really caters to vegans. The food was delicious even though the plates had processed āchiknā and soy meat. I loved the burrito with chikn . And, the side of taters were delicious. Atmosphere reminded me of an old fashioned NY diner. Some creative vegan dishes without the highly processed āmeatsā would be really welcomed. Definitely we will be back.
We were there at the busiest time, Iām sureāSunday brunch!! We were at a mountain bike race event at the park nearby and looking for something quick!

French Toast with cinnamon applesāAwesome!! We also had omelets and gluten free toast/with eggs (I think)! Coffee and iced tea with lemonadeāperfect! Nice people on top of all that!
The food always hits the spot! & without a long wait. Servers are friendly and attentive. The only thing about this dinner is the seating. You sit very close to other tables. My first time here was great I had breakfast with my boyfriend while a couple next to us had lunch. The womanās sweet potatoes fries looked so tempting; so I came back. I got a burger and those sweet potato fries tasted just as good as they looked!!! Must try this place I donāt recommend big groups though. The cheese on this burger was sooooo good šš½(I added the mushrooms)
I love that they had a full vegan menu! I ordered the most ridiculous thing I saw on the menu, and I'm glad I did. It was delicious. May go for something a little healthier next time since there are so many vegan options.
I love local places like this, you know your in a local favorite when you see every table filled. The staff is awesome, I ordered the Hearty breakfast and told the waitress I wanted bacon for my meat she then asked about the other items and I said whatever you choose I'm good with my meal was awesome. My wife had the BTL, son had Belgian waffle and my mom had the 2-2-2 everything came out quickly, the portions were large and tasted great. From now on if I'm going through Ocala this is the spot I'm going too to eat. I also love the fact that I could contribute to First Responders eating while on duty.
Best tailgate dog! Ordered side of gravy fries which paired perfectly with the meal. The cole slaw was amazingly good. Will definitely be back.
Wow! Vegan menu is amazing!!! The burrito with fries was to die for. Very impressed how the veggies were NOT oily. Staff was very friendly. I would eat here every day if I could.
Good and flavorful food! Good size portions. Kinda weird that my breakfast only came with a single piece of toast. But the food was good! Service was quick, server was pleasant. Definitely go again. Tab was $35 for two meals and two drinks.
