We seen Madigan's a bunch from crossing the Occoquan bridge and today we finally decided to give it a try. The back outdoor seating area was heated, so it allowed us to eat by the river even on a colder day. The menu offered many different options, for a variety of pallets. We started with the oysters on the half shell (very tasty) and the crab chowder (also very good). The blackened fish tacos were a good choice, as well as the crab cake sandwich. The crab cake was all crab meat and delicious. Definitely give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Madigan's is a long appreciated part of Occoquan, with riverside dining being one of its best features. The food is priced better than most restaurants, with great portions and good quality. The poke bowl was nicely flavored, and the chicken salad cold plate was delicious and healthy. My teenage son gobbled up the marinara mussels and shrimp cocktail. They had the lightest, fluffiest hush puppies I've ever had! My only regret was not leaving with another order of them. The sweet corn cakes were good, but we didn't care for the spicy honey that came with them. It would have been paired better with either a jalapeno ranch or chipotle ranch, though the server highly recommended pairing with the habanero mango sauce. We also got the key lime cupcake, which is less cake and more of a mousse. I thought it was okay, but my son loved it. I definitely recommend coming to this restaurant for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Great food, the chicken wings are amazing. Corn fritter are great. The seafood boil was great. The problem is that most of there plates were either dirty or chip. We sat on the patio looking the river. Amazing view. Inside of the restaurant have a bad odor. And if you use a credit card there will be a 4% up charge.

Walking down to the river we decided to grab lunch here. The crab chowder was delicious, creamy, and not too rich. I was surprised by the peas in it. The poke bowl was generous in proportion. It was a little under seasoned for me but the waitress was on it and had extra panzu sauce, and sesame dressing in moments. The reason for the loss of a star was the amount of flys in the restaurant. Not sure if it’s always that way but we were attacked and we were inside. The staff are awesome, the food was delicious, the prices were on par, and the portions were great. We will be back.

Although I gave the atmosphere 3 stars it was also Father's Day today so I'm pretty sure we go back it will be better. But overall I had a day on the Potomac AND wanted a good meal. This was tasty too, the stuffed shrimp and crab cakes will have you drive from MD. And our waitress ,forgot her name, was phenomenal, Thanks to all the staff we interacted with today.

It had been a few years since we had been here as we now live in Southern Virginia but stopped off here as it was the first restaurant my wife and i dined at when we first met. We were greeted at the entrance and asked where we would like to dine, we asked for outside with river views, all good, the servers were either changing over or short staffed but eventually came and we placed our order. Water arrived but not once asked if we would like a different beverage. The food came and it was very good. The overall place needs a face lift, it was looking tired. Our experience was ok, the food was good but service lacked some. On leaving we walked up and through the bar area and there was a lot of staff, now this was a Monday and late afternoon, there were more staff sitting around in the bar area that they could have used in the lower outdoor area. It was still ok and we will be back as the location is lovely.

Follow me @onerisbarett on Instagram ————— What’s up my fellow Yelpee’s, Googler’s and DMV’er’s! This was our first visit to Madigan’s for a close friends birthday dinner. We noticed immediately that the ambience was really cool. We also observed that they offer outdoor patio seating with a nice view of the Occoquan River (see pics). The food is traditional American style whether ordering for chicken, steaks and seafood. However, some of their dishes were pretty good, like the lemon butter mussels, seafood boil, carne guisada (Honduran style), jumbo crab cake platter and some others to name a few. I’d like to shout out Andrea (mgr.), Kayla (our waitress) who I’d like to encourage to work better on managing her time when serving food and Josefina (cute gal w/tat’s) and the rest of the team for providing good service.

We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was attentive and only there when we needed him. Sitting on the deck gave us a view of the water and all the people on it. We got to see birds amd other wildlife. Service was quick. Food was exceptional. my husband had the fish tacoshr chose the Maui Maui on the tacos. I had the Shrimp Po Boy, which was wonderful. Would suggest eating here anytime.

An excellent, low key, no frills, waterfront seafood restaurant. I went for lunch, Monica was my server and she was fantastic. The oysters 🦪 were so fresh and delicious. The crab soup was exceptional! The view is pretty great if you can sit outside. Highly recommend! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

My husband and I stopped by Madigan’s last Friday, Sept. 1 on the recommendation of friends. The restaurant is located on a river and we sat outside soaking up the wonderful atmosphere. Our server, Delmar, was very attentive and upbeat! By far the biggest compliment has to go to chef, Fausto, for his crab cakes. I consider myself a crab cake snob, having grown up/lived around the Chesapeake Bay my whole life. I’ve eaten crab cakes all over the East Coast of the U.S. but these crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the platter and there were 2 huge crab cakes, hardly any filler, with all back fin crabmeat, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The remoulade sauce was a perfect paring with the crab cakes. The whole meal was perfection! 5 Stars to Madigan’s for serving up the best crab cakes ever!!! We’ll be back!

Had an impromptu lunch. Chicken salad sandwich was very good and the chips were as well. Was on a date and the waiter was great…we stayed at our table forever while we were talking but the waiter never made us feel like we were taking up space. A nice place with a great staff and view.

Our waiter Daniel was very sweet & nice, he made our experience all the better! There is a nice little view while eating here & nice outside bar & lounge area, although not that big. The food was pretty good, I would have loved a little more flavor but the meat (crab meat & fish) was fresh & tasty! Would definitely come back here with some friends!

Loved our dinner at Madigan’s! We had a nice view of the water from the heated/closed-in patio, the food (fish tacos, crab dip, hot apple cider) was delicious, and the staff was kind. Will definitely come back!
