It's been a while since I've been but I don't imagine a whole lot has changed. As far as the 'ambiance' goes, it's a food truck. So you're not coming for that, you're coming for your catfish and chicken (and whatever else you may go for on the menu). This spot used to be a fan favorite of my previous co workers. It's on the east side of OKC, so some people have reservations about going there but it's no big deal. The chicken tastes great, the fish was on point. And the honey was poured heavy so just know that's happening, lol. My only complaint is that the 'smoke' flavoring / seasoning can overpower the taste of the meat at times. It varied but it definitely happened on more than one occasion. I don't go crazy with the fried foods these days but if that is a part of your normal diet I don't hesitate to recommend a visit.
Love it so much. Wish it was open more days of the week though.. I was hesitant on the honey being poured over everything but after I tried it, it changed my life
I chose to are here for my valentines dinner this year... one of my favorite places ever! the chicken is smoked and then fried... then some spicy seasoning and finally HONEY I love when you get the the bottoms and the fries are drenched! ahh my mouth is watering.

Honey chicken = heaven. Great chicken. don't fear the east side. the neighborhood is chill of knuckleheads but I've never had any problems.
Had wanted to try for a long time. FINALLY we did. Not a fan of wings but fried very good! Fries were good covered in honey but would ask to skip the hot spice.
Eat here ASAP. This is my favorite place to eat in Oklahoma. The chicken is deep fried, smoked, crunchy and covered in a honey sauce (a must have when he asks if you would like honey). Get the "4 piece" with honey and never look back.
They are open typically 8pm to 3am Friday and Saturday nights only. They close down when it's cold or the weather is bad so I would not recommend making the drive unless it's over 45 degrees.
If you are white (as I am) do not be afraid to go here, that is nothing but racism. I have been frequenting this place for years and I've never been messed with, people are there to get food not start trouble.
This is legitimately some of the bet food in the state I promise you will like it. There's nowhere to sit an it's cash only so prepare for that and if you would like to take your food somewhere else. Go try it!!!
MMM..MMM!!!!. Absolutely amazing chicken and biscuits! Now I understand why there is always a parking lot full of people waiting to eat here, even if it's freezing cold outside! It's simple, but tasty. I am SO glad I don't live far away :)
Late night eating at it's finest!. If you dnt mind going to the East side after dark they have some of the best chicken wings and bread you can find! You get a choice of honey or not! Every chance i get I eat here love it!

Loved it!. Bobo's Has some of the best chicken we have ever had! The combination of the smokey chicken with the honey is phenomenal! We also ordered the shrimp and they were fantastic. My husband also really liked the biscuits (3 of them). Bobo's is definitely not closed and is worth a vist!

The best.... I used to go all the time on Thursdays. Now, they're only open Friday and Saturday but opened earlier, so there's safer options. It's the best chicken I've ever had - smoked and then deep fried with honey sauce. The fries and bread are tasty too. It's cash only and can get quite the line, though.
Soooo good!. The chicken was the best I have had in all OKC! The rolls were more donuts like the rolls like but were soft and went well with the Chix. We got all three shrimp, catfish, and chicken. Which would I get on my next visit, probably all three again, family style were we switch half way through. The line when we went was pretty short, they can really move some food.
Chicken is smoked all day and then fried. I like the smoky flavor of the chicken, and the fried biscuit with honey. The fries have a nice touch of cayenne or chili powder that adds to the flavor. The catfish was not that great. They can occasionally be found in Langston, Oklahoma on the weekdays and on homecoming. Stick with the chicken, accept the honey, accept the artery blockages, and the food is good.
Best Fried Chicken in OKC Period!. Im telling you it will grow back limbs. The hickory smoked chicken with honey and biscuits are to die for. We drive 100 miles just for the chicken. My kids absolutely love BoBos they love the honey soaked biscuits. Bucket the owner and the fellas are on top of their game.
Best Chicken Wings EVER!. I can't get enough of Bobo's chicken! I don't care where it is or when it's open. It is so dang good! Shrimp is excellent too. I've been going there for about 7 years and it's the only chicken I eat in OKC anymore. People try to compare it to Eishen's... Puleez....Eishen's is not good at all. Bobo's is it!!
Great chicken, fun "roach coach" look. Mixed friendly crowd, security on duty when we were there. Not you average chicken! Smoked first for flavor I believe, then crisp fried. Save room for seasoned fries and those wonderful biscuits. Be sure to say yes when the offer honey. Worth the wait, worth the cold. For a different after game or party stop this is the place.
This is seriously some of the best fried chicken around. We went right around 7 when it opens to miss the rush. I hear comments of a rougher neighborhood but I suppose it depends where you are from to decide if its rough. Nothing bad. Service is quick in to the point. Order and stand to the side as you wait. Cheap and fast. The chicken was salty and nice and crispy. Smoking it before frying adds so much flavor. Delicious. Fries have a good kick of seasoning and biscuits are great. Will return time and time again! Must try.
Best Fried Chicken in OKC I've had. This is the best fried chicken I've had in OKC. I was there around 9PM on a friday night, line was huge, I waited roughly 1 hour to get to the front, however well worth it. Just go, dont be scared of the area, its not as bad as other areas in OKC. It is kinda ironic it is on "Hood Ave and NE 23rd". They usually start around 7PM, so you can get back to Edmond before it gets dark, if you are scared of that part of town.
Worth whatever trouble it is!

Went Friday night, got the 4 piece w honey. Chicken was delicious, staff was friendly, and my wife and I will be going again!
Smoked and Fried Chicken. You stand in line to order and wait to the side until it's ready. They smoke their chicken before they fry it. Once it's fried, they put it in a clam shell with some thick fries, and poor a thinned out honey all over the chicken and fries.
The chicken is delicious. Try to go earlier so that you miss the night club rush. That way you don't stand in line for 30 minutes. It's sort of a bad neighborhood, so just be a little bit more aware of your surroundings then you might usually be.
I don't think that this chicken is on par with Eischen's, but it's definitely worth trying their unique smoked & fried chicken with honey.

Everyone must try Bobo's at least once, and then again and again. Bobo's is brilliant. Bobo's has the stigma of being a little sketchy due to the fact it's a truck that's only open on Fridays and Saturdays at night. Don't worry about it. It's nothing at all and as I've always thought, food is what unites people. When you go, you'll find yourself among regulars who have gone every week religiously. Once you taste Bobo's, you'll see why, and you'll become a regular yourself.
The wings are amazing! My pet peeve about chicken is when people leave pieces of meet on the ends. Bobo's must be eaten to the bone. Every single piece. Go with some friends, get a 20 piece box, and you MUST get honey. Each box comes with fries and fried bread, which I personally love enough to get a box of that alone. Bread is 3 for a $1 but usually, he'll throw a few extra in there. Bobo's also has catfish and shrimp. I've only had the catfish but from what I hear, both are just as amazing as the chicken.
Bobo's is a quintessential experience for the Oklahoman. When that red truck is on 23rd and MLK, you know you're in a place of a whole lot of love and a whole lot of good food.
This criminalization of OKC's east side in Urban Spoon reviews is worrisome. If visiting a restaurant on NE 23rd is a fearful experience for you, just stay away. If not, go to Bobo's, be respectful and enjoy some damn good chicken.

Best in the world, hand's down. For years, I've been a patron of Bobo's, and only recently have I branched out and tried other chicken places,and to be honest, Bobo's has me ruined. Eischen's, Jim's Chicken To Go, and others wish they could be as good.
The menu is short, and to me that usually means good, because why have a long list when you are good enough to do just a few things? I usually get the 4 piece(they usually throw in a few extra pieces for me), and then I add extra biscuits and a box of fries. the catfish is just as good, but I do hold off on the honey sauce with the fish. the breading is just too good to mess with.
One of the reason's I love Bobo's so much is that the smoke then fry method actually reduces the grease content dramatically compared to other restaurants, so when you bite in, you get crunch without the grease splatter. I'm not saying it's healthy, but I enjoy being able to eat fried chicken that isn't grease laden. After the box is assembled with the chicken, fries and biscuits, the kind gentleman sprinkles on the spicy seasoning, and then asks the most important question: do you want sauce? Always say yes. It helps balance out the spiciness. I've been a regular for years, and I'll continue to be. before I had children, I would stop by with my friends after a night out, and the wait was usually very long, regardless of the weather. but now that I have an earlier bedtime, we prefer to go around 7, and we usually don't have to wait at all.
Be smart, and ignore the negativity that is somehow associated with this place, and try the best chicken in the city. I've never known anyone who's tried it, and didn't like it.
BEST LATE NIGHT FOOD!!!. After the clubs or bars, this is the place you need to be! Get some fried chicken and fries smothered in honey after a night of drinking.

Fried Chicken Delight.... As stated by another reviewer, as good as Eischen's, but very different. Also a great place to take anybody that's never been. The ride can be a little on the scary side, but hey, what's life without a little adventure?

Great chicken. This place is a tribute to simplicity, if a little mysterious. Somewhere near 23rd and Lottie, somewhere around dusk you'll see the truck fired up. Choose chicken, catfish, or shrimp, receive fries and a biscuit (order an extra biscuit, trust me), then answer yes when they ask you if you want honey on it. Beware, you'll need a shower and a nap after your meal, but it's worth it. The ten-buck 7pc meal should feed two comfortably.
Bobo's Chicken. Just about the only white guy that is there almost every weekend. I would literally die without Bobo's. Been eating there for almost 10 years. Gives me something to repent for at Sunday church. Absolutely sinful!
I arrived around 11:30 pm and Bobo's was located at NW 23rd and Hood; I understand this is the "regular spot". There was a line, yes at 11:30 pm. I ordered my wings and things and a bottle of water...and then...WOW.
Chicken wings: juiced up with flavor, smoked, coated with a batter of rich spices, fried, placed with the "things" (aka French fries and fry bread) in a styrofoam box, and then coated with HONEY.
Spicy and sweet. Delicious? NO...Bobo-licious
Perfect mix of spicy, crunchy, smoky, and sweet. A great deal too- we bought the 7 piece and had plenty for both of us and lunch the next day. Chicken & honey was a childhood favorite; this brought back memories!
Unforgettable. I had high hopes for this place, one of the most infamous eateries in Oklahoma City, and i was not disappointed. This is a food trailer in one of the highest crime-rate areas of the city. Take 23rd and watch for a giant spotlight on the parking lot. Going to Bobo's is like an adventure every time, and while you may feel scared, they've added a security guard in the past few months for safety.
Prices are very reasonable, especially if you split with a few friends. The food? Fantastic and perhaps worth a small amount of bodily harm. Smoked chicken, later fried, and then drizzled with honey and served with fries and bread. Order with a sprite for a refreshing combination of heavy and light!
The first night I went, Bobo's was on my mind the entire next day! Take your food and eat on the steps of the capitol building. Your food won't get cold and you can put some distance between yourself and potential danger.
The BEST chicken. This is the BEST chicken. I went at 9 p.m. this evening. The chicken was smokey, tender, juicy and crunchy. The fries were thick and delicious. The fried bread with the honey on top is part of the meal, but feels like a dessert.
I think some people are exaggerating of the potential threat of going here. I wish I would have went earlier instead of thinking of how "dangerous" it would be. This neighborhood is like any inner city neighbor hood in a big city, but it is in OKLAHOMA. This is not , New York, DC, Detroit, or LA. Please support a local businessman and do not discriminate based on the physical location. The chicken is wonderful in every possible way. Don't go at 2 a.m. if you don't want to be around the after club crowd. They open at 6 p.m. on Fri and Sat.

This Place is NUTS, but Oh SO GOOD. This place is insane. Hours? I dunno. I think Friday and Saturday nights from dark until morning? Maybe Sunday. Beats me. Sometimes I go out there and find nothing (I go as early as possible, but before 9P may be fruitless. Sometimes.).
"Bobo" pulls a trailer into a vacant lot and sets up shop for the night. He serves chicken wings. I gotta say, this chicken is every bit delicious as Eischens, but in a different way. This chicken is smoked, seasoned, fried, and (optionally) covered in honey (highly recommended). There is nothing like it anywhere.
Stay aware of people around you, get your food and get out of there, don't wear flashy jewelry and drive your clunker. Carry if you have a permit. Ok, even if you don't. Making it home unscathed is awesome :)
THE BEST CHICKEN IN OKLAHOMA!!!. This is ABSOLUTELY the BEST chicken you will ever find! I have been here nearly 10 times and loved it every time! The chicken is smoked, seasoned, fried, and covered in honey. It is a diet breaker, but for this deliciousness, it is totally worth it. It is a good idea to get there before midnight though -- it becomes very crowded past midnight and despite the security guard, can become dangerous.
Yummy. I've been eating at BoBo's now for over 10 years. I just recently introduced my wife to the deliciousness that you receive in the little white styrofoam box. There is absolutely nothing better than going to Bobo's and getting their smoke/fried chicken drizzled with honey after you've been out drinking all night. Definitely do take it home to eat as you may get shot and or stabbed if you eat it in the parking lot. You may also get car jacked if you eat it in your car, but the chicken is definitely worth the risk!!

The Shrimp was frozen out of a box.....wouldn't recommend it. Bullet proof vest is optional but recommended as well. Go early to avoid crowds.

This food was definitely a game changer. The chicken and shrimp was fried, smoked , and dripped in honey sauce and dusted with Cajun magic season. Omg!!! no words really can explain what is going on you just have to go for the experience. Hands down a winner.

Every time I go, the wait is at least an hour. But it's a good hour where I can savor that mouth-watering scent of good cooked chicken.
The crowd that gathers is pretty wild. Sometimes you got hungry, laughing college kids, sometimes you got bros who've been coming for years, sometimes you just got some people who just do too much but EVERYTIME it's not a boring.
The service is great for me. They ask what I want, I pay, and they let me know when it's ready. No small talk. They know I came for their chicken and they get to work.
Delicious, smoky, crispy CHICKEN; Crispy, savory FRIES; tender, flaky BISCUITS; a somewhat lacking drink options but that's ok cuz I like coke and strawberry soda anyways.

Bobo’s is an OKC staple. The food has a smokey flavor. Cayenne pepper and honey are added for an additional kick and sweetness that you won’t find anywhere else.
This is hands down the best fried chicken you’ll ever have. They do have some days when it’s not as good as other days, but it still hits hard af! If you ever visit OKC, this is a must visit place hands down. It’s cash and take out only. No way to know if it’ll be there outside of a fan Facebook page that posts pictures that’s it’s there.
This place has been around for 20+ years. It might be better now than when they opened. Be ready for a line and no frills. If you're from the east side of town, you know! Go get in line and get that Wings and things xiii Combo with extra honey!
Amazing!!! The perfect Smokey flavor and fried just right. The honey brings everything together. Grease tasted a little dirty but it was still delicious. Be prepared to bring cash and stand in line for awhile. The line does move but it gets very long. Yummy!!! 🤤

Their side bread, you better order extra bread cause everyone will steal your bread like they did me. I came home for my birthday and had to get some BoBos. Open late.
