Well, I'm here now. Waiter is good. Attentive, but it's also close to close sort of, so I'm not demanding a lot of attention or anything. Environment is nice. They have sushi tables and a grill area. They're a bit close together for my liking, but it's a good use of space. They gave me a BUNCH of ginger to go with my two rolls of sushi. I ordered the red dragon and the California roll. Not the freshest (or coldest sushi I've had) but the proportions are good. Presentation is good. Taste is average. It's not great honestly, but it's near a college town so it is what it is. Overall, pretty good.
Our Habatchi chef must have been very new as the show was lame. Food was ok.
Came here with a bunch of work friends and we all did the all you can eat. Usually I'm a one roll sorta gal (small stomach) but everything looked sooo good that I couldn't stop. The eel was delicious, and the hawaiian was amazing. I think we got three of those.
So good I made myself sick from overeating. Haha. Definitely bring friends if you're doing the All You Can Eat, so you can get a variety. And make other people finish what you can't.
Excellent. The whole family had a great time and a great meal.
Sakura is among the best sushi in Utah County. Every time I eat sushi, its all you can eat. At Sakura, the chefs were focused, and hard working, just like traditional Japanese sushi chefs are. The sushi tasted great, the tempura is thick and light. Their hawaiian roll really is something I had never had before. They were happy to get us so full that we couldn't walk out of there, and not once did they treat us poorly because of how much we ate. They seemed to love it. The service was great from our server to the chefs. The owner is friendly and loving. They are now offering delivery too!
Hawaiian roll is a must!!! Great fresh sushi. Can't go wrong. Clean and yummy. $18 for all you can eat, even the special rolls. The Hawaiian = shrimp tempura roll with mango and sweet sauce on top. Mmmmmm
Great sushi!. The only negative thing was that the waitress didn't speak english very well, and it was very hard to understand her.
but it wasn't that big of an issue.
the sushi was great, and the nigiri was very fresh tasting.
If you are wanting to spend an extra few bucks i'd recomend this place for an all you can eat sushi. but it is on the expensive-ish side.
about same quality as happy sumo. :)
The sushi here is great (be sure to try the Hawaiian roll). Our tepanyaki chef was a stud. You get plenty of food, great flavors--even the little salad you get is good. All around a better experience than Tepanyaki in Provo.
Great sushi and tepanyaki. The cooks are skilled and friendly.
The hibachi grill is all about the experience. I was really impressed at how well the chef was at getting my kids involved. He really put on a good show for them by going out of his way to see the things they were enjoying and doing more of those things. He used props and a lot of fire to make the meal really fun. I have been to many other hibachi restaraunts where they do a minimal show and just hurry and cook the food. The chef we had here was not like that at all. He really did do extra to make sure we had a great time.
Great selection of sushi. Buffet was $21 for dinner and we were not disappointed. The BYU doughnut roll is my favorite!! We asked if they could cut thinly the slices and they had no problem with it. I wish the nigiri were higher quality though, seemed pretty mediocre but is understandable due to Utah's landlocked state..Overall, well worth the buffet price if you plan on eating 2 rolls or more
Sakura has become our go to place with friends, ALL YOU CAN EAT! Although it does smell like eggs outside the front door and on the bathrooms. Still don't know how to get a picture on the wall.
They have an awesome selection of sushi at a great price. This is probably my favorite sushi restaurant I've ever been to!
Great sushi for all you can eat! My favorite in the area for sure.
I have been to many sushi restaurants around the country. My favorite is still Sakura. The venue itself is pretty simple, but the variety of rolls on the menu is numerous. The rolls are neatly made and stay together. The flavors are fresh and yummy. The Hawaiian Roll is my absolute favorite. The price is amazing for all you can eat sushi. One complaint....the bathroom is not so great. So, just plan ahead. :)
Hands down the BEST all you can in sushi. They have SO many different rolls and all are delicious. We have yet to try something we didn't like. This is one of our favorite spots for date nights with friends. We always have an awesome time thanks to the nice, comfortable atmosphere of the restaurant. Service is almost always great too.
Sakura is a fantastic restaurant. I've come here many times, and I've enjoyed every visit. Sushi is great, service is good, and the environment is good as well.
I haven't had any problems with slow service. Our glasses are always topped, and our order is delivered to the chefs very swiftly.
I can't speak for the hibachi grill portion, but the sushi is definitely worth trying out.
My wife and I love eating sushi here. We go about once per year for special occasions and we have never been disappointed. Sushi is our food-splurge and we enjoy getting sushi whenever we travel. When we travel to coastal cities expecting good sushi, we often find that in order to get sushi comparable in quality to Sakura, the cost is much higher.
The selection is fun. The food is good. We love to get the Hawaiian roll for dessert. The ambiance is nice. The staff are great. We've never had a problem here.
I've had slightly (re not-so-slightly) off-tasting sushi at several sushi restaurants, but never here.
We love the all you can eat sushi here, but they have some of our favorite sushi rolls in the area in general. If you like sweet sushi, you need to try the Hawaiian Rolls! It's or favorite way to finish off our sushi dinner. Food other than sushi is pretty average though.
The restaurant is rarely even half-full so it is one of the more quiet restaurants in the valley. Good for a night out when you want to visit while eating.
Haven’t tried the hibachi but the all you can eat sushi is great. There are a couple rolls that are not good but the rest are very well done. The nigiri is particularly good. They seem to be understaffed most nights but even so the wait time is not bad. Servers are always friendly and helpful. Parking hasn’t ever been an issue.
Love to sit in the grill to see the show. The service is amazing and the food it's really good.
Okay. Sakura does not have the best sushi in the valley, and is definitely not top quality. However, if you know how to eat here, you can eat a ton of good food for a phenomenal price.
Their all-you-can-eat sushi lunch is $16, and while they don't serve super high quality ingredients (few inland sushi places do), if you stick to fried rolls, you'll have a hell of a meal for very little cost. Sakura also has some interesting desert rolls that are worth a try if you can fit it in.
Those who follow my reviews may be confused by my four star rating of Sakura. If you're looking for more traditional sushi rolls, there are better places. But if you're feeling a variety of fried rolls both vegetarian and carnivorous, and a lot of them... this is THE place to go.
Decent Sushi for all you can eat.
