Ate lunch twice here on vacation. Food was awesome, much better flavor and value than theme park food(obviously), had the same server both days, believe her name was Clarissa? She took very good care of us, made us feel comfortable. Will be here again next time we're out this way. The Reuben is awesome, one of the best in the area by far.
Elizabeth was the best server I think I've ever had! Wonderful personality, attentive and just a hoot! My turkey dinner was yummy-and OH that French onion soup! It was a great birthday dinner with my family! I'll be back!!
Absolutely best burger I've ever had and I'm 70! Had to order dessert "to go". Hope to go back when visiting Orlando again. Problem is: too many good things to chose from.
Had a great time and food was delicious. The combonatiin of breakfast lunch and dinner sold me where I was going.
It's my go to place every time I'm in Orlando. Amazing baked goods and the tuna melt is so good.
Eric was an excellent server! Our food arrived quickly, he was very attentive, and he even wrote "get well soon" on my to-go bag when he noticed that I was sick. Great experience!
Always a great meal here one time had Shepards pie not up to par they could not have done enough to make it right just always good
Fast, friendly service and the amazing smell inside was inviting , food delicious !
Absolutely loved the fast and friendly service! Our waitress was very friendly and didn't over bother us while we ate. I had a drink refill before I needed it and never had to ask for anything.
The food was perfect. The sandwich is a little hard to eat, but it tasted so good I didn't care that much. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned.
We ordered the knish and it was so good we were sad we only ordered one.
Definitely our new favorite deli when we come to visit Orlando!
It was my 1st time @ a TooJay’s and I was not disappointed at all.
They have a large menu to choose from. Serving breakfast Monday-Fri till 11am and 2pm Saturday & Sunday or their lunch and dinner menu served all day.
We had the Avocado toast, the Matzo Ball soup and Corned Beef Hash and Eggs with a Bagel.
The soup was not too flavorful, but great portions.
The rest of the food was cooked to perfection and very flavorful.
They have a large selection of desserts and cookies .
My wife ordered the pick two, matzo ball soup tasted fresh and nicely seasoned, and shrimp salad was light and tastey. I ordered the deli dogs. Two natural skin dogs grilled with pastrami topped with coleslaw and absolutely delicious. Loads of coleslaw accompanied my lunch. Way too much honestly, but it all tasted very good. Upgrade the fries to their onion rings. Toojays onion rings are fantastic. We shared the banana dream layered cake and it was a perfect ending to a great lunch.
I did not like the blueberry muffin. The bagel I had was a bit over toasted. The employees there were nice and made conversation. I am willing to give the food another try in the future considering they have such good ratings.
A very casual diner setting was immediately elevated by our waitress, Debbie. She was fast, observant and always ready. It was a pleasure being under her care.
The beef liver was a bit on the tough side but still extremely nice considering most menus don't offer this dish. The chicken Capri was some of the most tender chicken I've ever had at a resturant, with the artichoke and capers blending with the right amount of punch and mushrooms to smooth it out.
The "Classic Comforts" menu came with some rye bread and our choice of soup or salad. With the big portions, we were fully satisfied with a to-go box to top it off.
Diner food is one of my favorite things. And, in my opinion, the mark of a great diner is a great Reuben. So, I tried TooJay's based on their ratings here and proximity to the Westgate Lakes if that helps anyone. First, overall impression of their presentation of the sandwich: 5 for 5. Traditional, nice portion, creative take; the way they roll the meat on the sandwich. Just really nice. Bread was great. Nice cook. Beautiful. That said, they meat was tough, and they could go a little heavier on the dressing. (I recommend getting a side of Thousand Island...which is also great on the fries BTW, which are also steak-cut, came out hot/fresh and are delicious.) The slaw was particularly good. Fresh. Not wet. Not too sweet. Cold. Nice. And a great pickle for dessert. No wonder they've been there since '81. Enjoy!
Loved it! You are treated to the sights of some amazing cakes and pastries as you enter. Our server was great- attentive without being overly in your face and checked in with us throughout our meal. The nova Benedict was awesome - eggs cooked perfectly - and the potatoes were very tasty. The mimosa was sparkling but beware you get a lot of fresh chunky bits in the orange juice, but after my first glass I didn't care (lol - hic!) My husband got an egg wrap and it was simple but very tasty. Had a look at the rest of rhe menu and will certainly return for liver & onions, meatloaf, soup,..... ah, the wish list is growing!!
This restaurant is fantastic. Superb food. They had the best Chicken salad sandwich & French onion soup. Food was off the charts. Very clean restaurant. Server was so friendly. Spectacular restaurant very clean in all areas of the restaurant. The Chocolate cake was to die for, so so so delicious, which why we purchased a Whole cake to take home. 10 Thumbs up
My wife and I found this place while spending the weekend in Orlando, I was not disappointed at all. Everything was extremely fresh and tasty, highly recommend this restaurant if you are in town!!
Absolutely love our Toojay's in Dr. Phillips! The staff works hard to make you feel welcome and the food is delicious. Special shout-out to the Ericka, Josh, Anya, and Cheryl.
Great food great atmosphere I really love a delicatessen that serves more than just what you expect them to have. This was my first visit when I received my food it wasn't exactly what I ordered. My server Jean thought it was necessary to disagree and argue with me. The manager came out they made sure our meal was fixed the way it was ordered. From that point Jean didn't check on us or offer drink refills. She quickly passed by and slapped the bill on the table without saying a word. On my way out I spoke to the manager about her unprofessional behavior. He was apologetic and sympathetic to the situation while being very professional. Jean receives -1 star the reastraunt receives 5 stars the very welcoming host and manager did a great job.
My co-worker wanted a good Reuben sandwich and I looked up New York delicatessen and this came up on Google Guides as a good place to eat. We were not disappointed. The Rachels' (a Reuben with both pastrami and corned beef) were huge and flavorful. The steak fries fresh, hot. We got some fresh cookies to go from their bakery. Their cakes look amazing, but we were way too full. The only knock was service was slow. I think they just were confused on who had what table. Once they got it figured out everything was fine. Manager came over to speak with us. Very nice. Not too far off Sand Lake and Dr Phillips.
Matzoh Ball Soup - Delicious. Yum.
Pastrami on Rye- Good. Enjoyed it.
Rare find. Home Style Cooking.
Cozy atmosphere.
Good Service
Came in for lunch with the wife and first thing me and her loved was the ambiance and interior design of the place. Which i would have snapped a shot if the place. But as for what we ate, wife went with Chipotle Burger Melt, Steak Fries, and Cole Slaw with a Pickle. I had the Reuben Sandwich with the same sides as her. Both sandwiches were good. But we both thought the same about our sandwiches " it's good but needs more of its signature sauce." Sandwiches were a little dry to our liking and just a bit more sauce would have been amazing. The Coleslaw tasted fresh and light. Not too heavy on dressing. Fries and pickle were good as well. If you are in the area and want some good ole deli meals, give this place a try.
We enjoyed our experience here. We were on our way to the airport and had luggage in tow. They accommodated us and our luggage. Love the hostess. Our waitress was great as well. Would highly recommend. 🙂
