Not bad Mexican food. I had their Tacos de Carnitas, the pork was good, though a little dry, but you can't beat a traditional style taco. As well, they have a pretty awesome two for one beer special.
The One And Only One “Acewingman” Here

I have eaten here dozens of times when they are offering the Mexican buffet. I really like the Sangria made right there at the bar. This is definitely worth the time to plan a visit for a great meal.
Sunday Buffet. We had the Sunday lunch buffet for $9.99 before going to Universal. It's authentic Mexican, so don't expect a pound of salt to be thrown on everything. Everything met expectations. Beef enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, tamales, various shells and items to fill them, hot wings, sopapilla, cinnamon twists, etc. All in all, I'd guess about 30 things, if you count the typical salad items also found there. Service was great. Nice decor. Nice atmosphere. Clean bathroom.
Salsa extra good. Rating: 4.5 out of 5
We visited this fine Mexican Restaurant on Christmas Eve 2012. A typical Mexican place with music and atmosphere. The chips and salsa arrived promptly and we noticed a clear fresh taste to the salsa, clearly homemade. The female waitress suggested we not get the buffet as it was winding down and she could not promise it being freshness. Our dinners 3 in all ranged from fajitas, to combo dinners. All arrived hot and fresh. The refried beans were very good tasting and much better than other typically places. The waitress said that on Christmas Day they would be open and she was coming n at 9:00 AM to made mode made tortillas for local families to come in and eat.

Just found this place: awesome!. The only mexican buffet around. the food is great. people need to realize this is better than taco bell. they don't use all kinds of chemicals like taco bell does. they are pretty fast about serving to which was good. the meat is sort of dry but this doesn't change how it tastes good after you add all the toppings and stuff. i love the meat. i guess some people like the nasty greasy chemical watery crap taco bell serves. so go somewhere else. for me, i will choose el potro every time because its always been good. the winter park location is my favorite!
Pollo loco is excellent. Seasoning was perfect. Dishes were large enough to share. Great value for your money. Please check this place out!!!
Some of the best queso I've ever had. Great service and really good burritos. Definitely a thumbs up.
We had great service and the food was great. Best tacos al pastor ever. My new favorite Mexican joint in Orlando must
Delicious queso! Amazing quesadilla! Buffet is the best!!!
Great Buffet- tons of delicious options. El Potro is often overlooked because its right across the street from Agave Azul, but if you're looking for a variety and plethora of Mexican food- this is the place to be.
The buffet is reasonably priced ($10.99 I think) for all the options they offer. Taco salads, burritos, tacos, anything you could want. Some are already pre-made and ready to eat, but you can also used any of the separately laid out ingredients and make your own. They have tons of stuff to choose from and also coconut shrimp, salad stuff, and desserts.
Make sure you come hungry.
The buffet is the best value, and everything on the long, L-shaped table is fabulous!
Food was delicious and very large portions. Service was excellent and atmosphere could not have been better. Bathrooms were very good too. I think this is our new go to place for traditional Mexican food.
My family and I were in the haunt for a mexican restaurant that could satisfy our raging craving for some tequila and spice. At El Potro, we achieved that and much more. Not we drank the best tequila of our lives, but we had amazingly delicious main courses to go along with them.
They receive you with nachos and salsa, substancial and satisfying enough to not need to ask for a starter. The nachos were great, but the real mvp was the salsa: pure perfection. We actually liked the restaurant so much that we went there twice, and the second time the salsa was way more spicy! For me, that means and upgrade hehe.
As for the main dishes, I highly recommend the Chicken Tacos! The Bistec a la Diabla was also fantastic and the Chimichangas, my mom's order, out of this world. The San Jose Chicken Salad, very delicious and fresh, super recommended as well.
They also have a kids menu in case you have picky children. My sister is, indeed, very picky so she ordered fried chicken with french fries, and she loved it!
For dessert, we tried the Flan, the Fried Ice Cream and the Churros, which are undoubtly my recommendation. Nonetheless, if looking for something less filling, the Flan is a lighter option that will equally satisfy a sweet tooth!
Besides its outstanding food, El Potro stands out for its incredible service: quick, informative, kind and welcoming. The waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and gave us really good recommendations, which was aprecciated as the menu is quite large and choosing a dish can be tough! Of course, I must mention that they were also attentive and helpful at all times, another plus to this experience.
The prices are extremely reasonable, furthermore, I would qualify this restaurant as pretty cheap.
Overall, El Potro is a must-go place to eat out at Orlando. Its cuisine is top notch, just like its people and the service they provide.
Made a quick stop here before heading to our hotel (we were super hungry!). Felt like Mexican, so decided to eat here.
Greeted right away, food ordered quickly. Can never complain about free chips and salsa either.
The food arrived hot and fresh! I decided on the lunch meal if beef enchilada. Came with rice and beans. Great price too of $9 bucks!
As you can see, devoured it before I could think to snap a picture.
Quick service, just what we needed.
Enjoyed!
Came to this location for the first time on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is big and had a lot of big parties , but we didn't have to wait.
Our server was great, attentive and friendly.
This location is away from the Orlando madness and had a nice family vibe to it with nice music and great environment.
I had a margarita sangria which was not my favorite (next time I'll stick to one or the other).
They give you a complementary first round of chips and salsa (the salsa had a kick to it) and I ordered a side of queso which also had a spicy kick to it.
For dinner I had the steak burrito. It was ok , definitely was not a fan kinda boring flavors.
My husband had the combo fajitas that had shrimp, beef and pork (I tried it and it had good flavor)
We also took the churros and the banana chimichanga to go and both were delicious! yum.
They have a big menu and next time I'll try something different. I'll recommend to try.
Finally a true-authentic Mexican restaurant in Orlando. I love the handmade tortillas, kinda small but really good. Al pastor tacos are on point. Totally recommend.
Food was delicious!! Staff was phenomenal! We had a group of 7, our waitress was fun and friendly and extremely helpful!
Margaritas were so good!
Not a single complaint from anyone in my party! 👍👍
First time visiting and had a great experience. Food was delicious, service was excellent and staff was super attentive. Most definitely will come back.
Papi, that food was tremendously good! I can't believe I passed this place and never stopped till now. "Aqua" ain't got nothing on your food. Bad thing is the drive home I had a food coma the whole way there. 🫔🌮
The Tacos Al Pastor were delicious! And the Grande Burrito was massive in size and flavor! Everything was very, very good. The service was on point, friendly and attentive. The food came out super fast, everything was correct and piping hot. Will definitely come back when in town again !
We mostly do carry out. However, I am very impressed with the food quality and taste. Their homemade tamales are the best. Will definitely dine in soon. Very friendly staff.
