The definition of exemplary, Customer Service and southern hospitality. Nikki and the entire staff were so welcoming and pleasant. We dined in the day we arrived in Orlando, and could not stop talking about the food so we came back two days later. The best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had in life. (you better get double grits or you’ll regret it !) The omelettes were great portion size, and the fried potatoes were well seasoned and crisp. A must visit restaurant every time I’m in Orlando.
Absolutely fantastic soul food place. We have had them for breakfast and dinner. Scrambled eggs delicious and grits cooked to perfection. My son favorite for breakfast is the grilled fish and the pork chops. Only thing I’ve tried I didn’t like was the salmon patties… had a salted and kind of pickled taste that was weird to me. I absolutely love the liver and onions cooked to perfection. The baked chicken was ok but the beef stew was fantastic. Oxtails we’re pretty good but you don’t get a lot. Pigs feet good too. You really can’t go wrong. Their side dishes are amazing!!! The potato salad, collard greens and yams are my favorites. But we loved the black eye peas, Lima beans and okra as well. We definitely will continue to order from this soul food gem! Food taste like my grandma work there. Love it!
I was so hungry for authentic soul food. The liver and onions did not disappoint. Seasoned to perfection. The greens were okay. I like sweet, sour, spicy, and smoked greens. These were good for the masses. The tea/lemonade was fresh and sweet. It's almost too sweet, but not quite. But the best part of Nikkis was the service. 10 ❤️'s. Kay was a mess! Hey, girl, hey! If you find yourself in Orlando with a taste for soul food, give em a try. Y'all, they had chittlins and hogmaws on the menu. That's real, fam!
Nikki’s Place is by far the place to go to for that “stick to your ribs” kind of comfort food. I visited the day before Thanksgiving, and even though they were busy with catered items, the staff still took the time to take to-go orders.
The customer service was impeccable!!
Ms Nekomie was so patient when placing my order because I had pre-ordered items but found out that they stopped taking pre-orders on a certain date. The vibe of the place just made me feel like I was at a family members home, and catching up with everyone. If you’re in Orlando looking for some really good food, don’t miss out on this hidden “gem”! Keep up the great job Ladies. I salute you!!
Excellent food and even better prices. Portions are definitely filling. The catfish and grits was great
The food was delicious, Ms. Ruth, the waitress was very sweet and kind. I definitely will be returning when I am in town again.
Awesome to go to a place with some real soul food. Everything fresh. Tasty and spectacular. Can't complain, truly enjoy southern food. Highly recommend this place
Was in town for the day looking for some good food and when I tell you this food was better than good, it was great. I had the smothered rib tips which I've never in my life had smothered ribs and they were EVERYTHING! The collard greens did me in, they were so good as well as the yams. That sweet tea better than McDonald's. I will be going back here next time I come to Orlando and I'll be sending my friends that live there here. My boyfriend had the beef stew and he cleared everything. Oh I almost forgot about the cornbread. Delicious
I celebrated Orlando's Black Restaurant Week on November 15th by trying for the first time a restaurant called Nikki's Place. I walked in and ordered the Chitterlings Dinner over white rice with sides of potato salad, collard greens and a corn muffin (see picture) for take out. The restaurant is a neighborhood staple that has a long history of serving the community with delicious soul food. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables for dining in, but very clean. Most of its business seems to be carry out. The potato salad was pretty good but a little sweet. The collard greens were very salty and I suspect were canned or frozen and not fresh. However, the chitterlings were the star because they were VERY tender and spiced perfectly, bringing back memories of when my mother prepared and cooked them. This dish is one of Nikki's more expensive dinner offerings (about $32 rounded off-tax included), but if you know how labor intensive and time consuming chitterlings are to clean, prepare and cook properly, you won't mind the cost. I sure didn't and will order them again in the future. Chitterlings are a delicacy and you get a heapful pile served every day at Nikki's as opposed to competitor P&D Soulfood Kitchen which only serves chitterlings once a week in mini chopped up pieces. I had to ask for my receipt and instead of a copy of my credit card receipt that I signed, I got a different handwritten one. Anyway, I plan to become a regular at Nikki's and try other dishes like the liver and onions next time. The waitress and everyone else were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend visitors and residents alike to stop by and try their tasty dishes!
Man let me tell you something. Every city I visit I Google best soul food in the city. This came up multiple times. They didn't disappoint. Alot of these soul food spots rather be more hood than good. Not this place. Nikki's was straight on point. Our waitress was super nice. I just couldnt eat any desert. 😋😋😋. Food filled me up.
