I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for fine dining and cheerful, prompt service. Jody, our waitress, was very efficient. My medium rare prime rib was cooked just right and so tender I could cut it with my fork. This was a first time visit but I guarantee you it won't be our last.
One of the best restaurants in this part of the state. The atmosphere and ambiance itself is enough to get you in the door. Great food, friendly staff, and the new craft beer selection is awesome. The Prime Rib was one of the best I've ever had. If you're in the area, make it a point to visit.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Appanoose Rapids. We loved every moment of the experience because of the fabulous staff who made us feel so welcome and the best chicken marsala we have ever eaten!!!!!! Thank you for making our evening of celebration the best ever!!!!
Wife and I finally went and tried it. Fantastic place. We had their prime rib dinner. Cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend them.
We were just passing through town, stopped at a local antique store and they recommended lunch here. Wow. Highly recommend and will definitely stop again if in the area. Excellent food and staff. Love the atmosphere also!

Last night was my first time at Appanoose and it was absolutely wonderful. My family were celebrating my mother's birthday and Appanoose was the perfect place! The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. Ottumwa has needed an upscale restaurant for a very very long time.
Best food money can buy in town. If you don't try this great establishment out you are missing out. The staff is top notch to match the incredible food. Thank you Dale for keeping it open and top quality!
This evening I reserved the private dinning room at Appanoose Rapids in Ottumwa for my daughters birthday dinner party. The food was fabulous and the service was incredible. We brought in a cake and they sang Happy Birthday and then cut and served our entire group.

I had the Smokey burger, it was delicious, Dana had the prime rib, that she could cut with a fork. An excellent choice to dine out.
Excellent staff, so friendly and accommodating. The owners are fantastic and really care about their patrons. We also had delicious appetizers, meal and drinks. Ottumwa is lucky to have this establishment.
I stopped here on my first night in Ottumwa for a couple weeks. Thanks to the awesome Yelp/Facebook reviews I think I found my go to spot! The staff was more than welcoming and friendly. The service was quick and attentive. Plenty of drink choices and the food was comparable to big city entree's. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic food and service. customer friendly. great atmosphere. I give it 10 Stars. We make a two hour drive every year too the Moberly Greyhound/ Indian Hills B-ball game and like to go early for some suds, food and fun. This is the place to go. Wished it was closer to home.
In the last 2 weeks we've had salmon at Appanoose Rapids, a well known establishment in Des Moines and Orlando, Florida. The salmon we had at Appanoose Rapids was by far the best!
