The people that run it are absolutely the most wonderful people you could meet. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable.
My favorite lil' local treat! Quaint atmosphere and great service that likes to check in and make sure you're enjoying your visit. #PapusaLove

So delicious! Love the pupusas. The staff is very friendly also!
If you aren't an adventurous eater, don't worry. This place will make you feel at ease and treat you to some great food.
Food is awesome and the people that run it are so nice.
Amazing thanks for the hospitality and the chocolate bananas. A must if you wanna not each chain restaurants.
Best restaurant in Ottumwa, hands down!!!!
This is a great place for anyone coming to Ottumwa! The food is affordable, incredibly tasty, and served with the absolute best attitude and attention to detail you’ll find in Southeast Iowa! I recommend this place wholeheartedly to anyone interested in trying something a little different than what you might be used to with a typical Mexican restaurant that every town has. This is Salvadoran home cooking at it’s best!
I’ve been coming here for pupusas since college. I’ll never get tired of them! The service is excellent also.
OMG, this hole in the wall restaurant serves the most AMAZINGLY Salvador food. This is a must go to restaurant, will be back. I would have eaten the plate but the plate is not edible LOL...
The food is great! I orders pupusas and tamales, my husband the tacos and fried plantains- all had a great flavor! I would highly suggest as they have upgraded menu items to include a bigger meal selection
Forgot to take a picture! Food was wonderful. We had one of each of the pupusas, one tamale, s shrimp dish, and beef soup. Great flavor! We ended with the plantains with cream and beans. All very good. We will go back! It is a cash only place.
The staff is unbelievably friendly. So many of them stopped by just to see how we were doing. The food is great. I haven't had El Salvadorian this good since I lived with a friend from El Salvador who was going to open his own restaurant. It deserves a better location, but that does not really hurt the quality.
I had the loroco pupusa, bean & cheese pupusa, plantains with beans and horchata. My spouse had the fried fish dinner and a pineapple jarritos. All the food was amazing!! The pupusas were melt-in-my-mouth goodness and went perfectly with the slaw and vinegary hot sauce. The plantains were sweet, cooked perfectly and great dipped into the beans and sour cream. The fried fish with head intact was very fresh, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The meal was very satisfying and around $30 for all the food I listed above. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be coming back!
