Delicious home cooked food served family style. Our server was so awesome and went above and beyond to provide us great service. The cinnamon rolls are to die for, they just melt in your mouth! Highly recommend Stroud's!
Tonight was our first time at Stroud's. A friend recommended them, so we stopped by while we were camping in the Kansas City area. I would have to say that this was the best restaurant meal I've ever eaten. The food was beyond excellent and the staff was vey attentive. Mari did a wonderful job of making it a great experience. We'll definitely be back every time we're in the Kansas City area!
Always way too much food! Is that a bad thing? Nope. Great service, great food and a reasonable price to boot. Go there. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200!
Excellent food and great service, the best thing is you always get enough left overs to take home for a second meal :-)
Hands down the best family style restaurant I have ever been too. Mary was amazing, she took care of us like family. If you are in the Kansas city area I would recommend a stop by. Make sure your appetite is healthy and wear sweat pants.
This was the best fried chicken I've ever had, and that half order of gizzards was enough for a meal in itself.
THE PLACE for fried chicken. Modern facility, but food tastes the same as the North location. Served family style & there are homemade cinnamon rolls that come with each meal. Expect to take home leftovers. I always bring a cooler! There is no place like it.
Great family style dinner! The chicken is tender and juicy. The side dishes are great. And then they hit you with cinnamon rolls! If ya go away hungry, it’s your own fault!!!
I had livers and gizzards and it was excellent! Perfectly cooked and the sides were fantastic. The gravy is the real thing. The best culinary experience in Kansas is chicken, not BBQ.
Great food !Great people!! Generous portions!! You will get filled up!!
Fined in my own but the waitress made me feel comfortable. Food was out of this world chicken livers So much food, hot, tasty. Will definitely go back next month when I’m there for work
One of my favorite places to eat. I used to go to the one that was under the bridge in KC. Amazing....I live in the PNW now, they don't have anything like it out there!!
The 'real' test was our granddaughters and they each gave it 2 thumbs up! They were also given a cup of chicken noodle soup which won them over as well. The chicken, potatoes, even the green beans & gravy were a hit!
I wanted to say Thank you. We had a wonderful meal and great service on Christmas Eve for my family. My father stopped breathing afterwards. A member of the staff (bartender?) helped to give him CPR. I cannot thank you enough. Because of this person and my sister in law my Dad is still here. Thank you. Merry Christmas. God bless.
Also, the cinnamon rolls are so good! Merry
It's just the best! You don't think you can possibly fit another bite in, and then those delicious cinnamon rolls come out :)
Stopped in and had a fantastic meal! The chicken noodle soup was a tasty starter. Then the main course came out and the gravy was phenomenal as always! The fried chicken was juicy and the green beans were super! The food is always top notch but honestly I could sit there and just eat mashed potatoes and gravy. The cinnamon rolls for dessert were fresh and hot. Our service was great and the take home portions gave me another meal, which makes me happy. Stroud's is a special kind of restaurant that just hits the right spot in your stomach.
The chicken is great, but there's a ton of other options. Today we tried the pan fried pork chop. We had the spicy one, and it was a perfect balance of spicy to sweet. We were afraid it would be like Buffalo sauce but it wasn't. We'll definitely be back, wish we had one closer to Lenexa.
Really love the food but it has gotten really pricy the past few years. It’s about $15-20 a person now. There was 2 of us total and our bill after everything was said and done was a little over $50. This included 8 pieces of dark meat, mashed potatoes, green beans, side salad, and cinnamon rolls.
I have been going to Stroud’s since I was little and finally got to bring my boyfriend there, since we are from Alabama. The food was amazing as always, and our server, Monzerrath Curiel, was even better. Definitely request her if you go!!
Delicious as always! First time trying hot spicy pork chop. Pleasantly surprised not buffalo flavor.
If you’re craving fried chicken, Stroud’s is the place to go. Their chicken is absolutely delicious. In my opinion, it’s the best in KC. And don’t get me started on their gravy or I might never stop singing its praises. Their house made ranch is a gift from the salad dressing gods. Everything is served family style; which makes it feel like a good ol’ family dinner. And their servers are so friendly. When you’re here, you’re family. Sorry Olive Garden, but your experience doesn’t hold a candle to Stroud’s.
There are signs on the door stating that they are having staffing problems, to please be patient with them. With a small wait, we were seated and they quickly took our order. The food like always was great, and plenty of it. We had more than enough to eat while there and brought about the same amount home. We forgot to take any other pictures, but here are some of the gizzards we had with gravy.
This restaurant's food reminds me of after Church at grandma's house dinner. It definitely has the taste of an older world. Technology can't fry chicken like that, only good ole cast iron and just the right temperature. While they currently are a little short staffed due to the COVID comeback, in my opinion, you shouldn't be in a hurry for this type of food any way. I suggest you sit back and order the Chicken Breast dinner with some mashed potato's, gravy and green beans. The after dinner Cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever had and they give you too many of them. Definitely a destination I will return to.
