We stumbled on this jewel by accident and I am so glad we did. The ambiance is great. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and funny. They helped me pick a delicious wine and even helped us with the menu choices. We started with the escargot. Absolutely delicious!! I love the garlicky sauce with the crisp bread and the perfectly cooked escargot. The lobster was fantastic with a dijan sauce. Unbelievable! Lobster ravioli was great but I must mention the amazing bread. They bring a basket with the meal and it is very good. We didn’t have reservations but they were happy to allow us to sit at the bar. I even had jeans on. What a treat. I definitely recommend this jewel to anyone who wants true Italian. Wish I could have tried desert but I was stuffed.
I went with 4 kids and the server David was fabulous. He treated them like anyone else. Some places look down on kids. He was amazing, knowledgeable, funny, friendly and not to mention good looking.
My kids adored him. The food was amazing. My son devoured the 1/2 pound of crab legs. The garlic bread was so yummy and the Tiramisu was to die for.
Excellent atmosphere and music. Fantastic food and service. I would recommend to everyone. Can't wait to come back and visit on our next trip to the desert .
Total class, ultimate service, excellent food. What a great vibe the place has. From the live piano music in the bar, to the friendly and professional staff. We make it a point to make our Christmas Eve dinner reservations well in advance. We wouldn’t want to miss out. Thanks Castelli’s!
I go here every time I'm in the desert. Great vibe (live piano/singer is really nice), excellent food and service. Brought my bf and his mom last night, their first time. They both loved it. Garlic bread is to die for.
Our first time, thoroughly impressed by perfect fettuccini, lobster tails, lobster ravioli! And, the garlic bread, so good! Our waiter, Tony, was very attentive! Nice evening indeed.
Osso Bucco is fabulous on a bed of mushroom risotto. A demitasse spoon for the marrow. Accompanied by a side salad and several glasses of the house zin resulted in a world class food coma. Thank you John for a nice dinner in the desert. I'll be back!
The food and atmosphere are amazing! The service was excellent. Brought my mom to celebrate her 82nd birthday. David was the best server. I will be back with my husband. So delicious!
The Biszantz family recommended this restaurant for our New Year's evening. The food was fabulous and our waiter was attentive. We rounded out the evening at the bar for drinks where the bartender was friendly and even though it was a busy evening, he still was aware when we wanted to reorder. A fabulous place to enjoy an evening.
Always GREAT service and food was outstanding! The wife had Lobster raviolis which were out of this world and I had osso buco which was fantastic! Great ambience and such a fun place to go highly recommended. Oh the shrimp bruschetta was out of this world too!
Great place for fun times while in the desert!! Great bar, good food. Always fun!
Michael Castelli one of the best Owner Operaters his warm greeting and personality makes you feel like family every time he greets you, warm and inviting highly recommend!
We go to Castelli’s every time we are in Palm Desert! The food is beyond amazing, garlic bread is fantastic, service is top notch...what’s not to love!?!!!! Run there next time you’re in the area! You won’t regret it!
So many great things to say!!! Best bartenders in town/ pork chops to die for!
Most delicious Antipasto for two, escargot, risotto al mare.
Great food and great service
Great food and the best service! It's a must every visit to the Coachella Valley!
Service was excellent and the food was superb! Pork chop, veal chop and pasta were perfectly prepared.
Food was amazing. Had the fettucinne Alfredo with shrimp. We had a great dinner with appetizers, wine 2 meals and tiramasu. Under $120. Would highly recommend
I would have gone 3.75 if that were possible, but 4 was a little to much. Had the Veal Ribeye with a side of Pesto Gnocchi. Wasn't thrilled that it was an up charge for the gnocchi, but it was worth it. The ribeye was good, nearly perfectly cooked, but almost to much char on the outside. Internally it was perfect and tasty though. We shared the Creme Brûlée at the end and it was a great finish to a lovely meal. The service was impeccable. Tony, our waiter, was awesome. Price was a touch high, but I'd go back again if I'm ever in Palm Desert again.
Food is very good. Atmosphere is old school, but so are the customers! Very busy place. The pork chop is very good.
A little place w great food.. Have to agree w Lisa... I have had the best Pork -Chops at this Italian restaurant. Everything about this place speaks of Italian Hospitality. It may be a bit small, but the food, wine selection, and service was all great. If you can find it, this place is worth a visit. Try the pork-chops.
Pork Chops are the best. This restaurant has a lot of atmosphere, and it can be really busy. However, my husband and I always try to eat here whenever we are in Palm Springs. I love the pork chops; they are a "signature dish" for Castelli's and they are great.
We spend 2 to 3 months each year in Italy and the rest of our time here in the desert. Castelli's is our go to place in the desert with an amazing old school atmosphere, John at the bar and his staff are wonderful, wait staff is on point and the best part of all is their food. Their Osso Bucco is legendary and rightfully so. Add in their terrific wine list and you have a place not to miss...see you soon!!
If you want a memorable, positive dining experience, this is the place! Very pretty on the inside and personable hostesses and waitstaff. And the food!!! Delicious. I had Osso Bucco (first time ever having it) and it was sublime. Perfectly cooked. Also you must try the Spumoni Ice Cream Pie. Flavor for days!! I highly recommend this establishment and we will come back next time we are in town.
I can’t rave about this delicious old school Italian restaurant enough! We booked a reservation for a family reunion meal that far exceeded our expectations. We had a blast. I ordered the lamb and bruschetta and both were far beyond my expectations and very delicious. The atmosphere, the service, the food!! Drinks and wine are A+ too. You won’t be disappointed here, you fact you might just enjoy the best meal of your life. I whole heartedly recommend Castelli’s !!!!
Oh my heavens, best restaurant I've eaten at in all of Palm Springs! This is a classic, "old school" Italian restaurant right out of the 50's and 60's. Reminds me of Angelo's in Little Italy district of Manhattan. Amazing service, amazing menu, great wine list and the food was spectacular!!! Wonderful evening, thank you!
beautiful, lovely food, good sized portions
One of the best services I’ve experienced in the valley. The high light of the diner might be the dessert.
I felt like I walked into a New York City nightclub circa 1960s and loved every second we were there! The wait staff was extremely attentive and the food was AMAZING! This restaurant came to us as a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. This place sets the bar high for other restaurants in the area. Don't question it...just go! Oh and the sunset views are beautiful!
Comprehensive menu with a variety of selections. Extensive wine list with many Italian varietals. Food was excellent and service was great.
We.just dined here again this evening and had an amazing time. The food was fabulous and our server Tony was the best. We will definitely be back again.
Steak marsala, veal chop, tiramisu, Caesar salad, martini, old fashioned DELICIOUS! Enjoyed live piano bar all night! Local spot, iconic
At Castelli's you become family. I felt like a Made Man. Gabriel took care of us. It felt like our table was bugged with the speed and attention to our every need. The food, top notch. The filet mignon was superb. The chicken breast with mustard sauce, to die for. We had the cannoli and creme brulee for dessert. 10/10. Would definitely go again. Thank you to the staff and hosts. You're like family! 🤌
Historical italian restaurant. Service was good and atmosphere was exceptional.
Absolutely love this place. Have never been disappointed. The wait staff is extremely attentive and friendly. They're garlic bread is amazing, and if you love crab, their crab legs is the best I have ever had anywhere!!! Oh yes and their chocolate lava cake is perfect!
Our server Nino was a wealth of knowledge about wines and the menu selections. My husband and I had a bottle of the Frank Family Cabernet Sauvignon, which we were familiar with and both love. For salad, we shared the Al Capone (our first time having white anchovy) and it was fantastic. For our main we had a special that had filet medallions with a Marsala sauce served atop fettuccine alfredo. The filet literally melted in my mouth. I wish I could've finished my plate it was so good (but hubs and I were trying to save room for dessert). For dessert we had the tiramisu--classic and very good here.
This is my second time at this restaurant though first time post-COVID. I'm so glad they survived and look forward to returning here next time I visit the desert.
I would give them more than 5 stars if possible. We never miss a visit to Castelli's when we are in town. The food and beverage selections are excellent, the staff exceptional and a very cool vibe with live entertainment. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken is the best I've ever had. Go!
I would have never selected this restaurant on my own. We attended for a group dinner during a conference we attended. I had the pork chop for dinner. It was well prepared and left me wanting more, even though the serving i had was plenty. Also got to try the fettuccini Alfredo. Not gonna lie, I wish I’d gotten an entire entree of the Alfredo. It was amazing. The servers were wonderful. They shared the story of Castellis with us and made the dining experience extremely enjoyable. The restaurant was very lively during our Friday night visit. Can’t wait to go back.
A must try if you are visiting. The atmosphere is wonderful with a musician complementing your experience. Genuine Italian, with great wine selection. Portions are plentiful.
Service is elite, never did we have a dry glass and they were very engaging.
Classic experience all around!
This is my absolute favorite place to eat at. The service is fanominal, setting is romantic/classy and the food was the best I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
