I admit, I was that annoying birthday girl who didn't plan ahead. My massive party and I showed up without a reservation, and the staff was so welcoming and helpful! They gave us a private room for the perfect amount of time. It really made my celebration all that much more special.
Highly recommend. Will definitely go again, but I will make reservations next time. 😂
This place is a one hell of a hole in the wall, definitely a place not to sleep on.
The service is awesome and makes you feel like you stepping into a tiki room, oh and don't get me started on the owner. Calm collected and down to earth I can't wait to visit here again.
If you have a bigger party. They have a room that you can reserve that will put you into a private room, make sure to call in fiirst before reserveing the room
Fun! Hawaiian Tiki bar vibe, with a great view of the street. Came here for drinks and an appetizer, highly recommended if you want some fun cocktails. Everything in Palm springs is expensive, but drink prices were pretty reasonable here.
Highly recommend ordering their pupu platter that you get to grill at your own table.
We will definitely return next time we come through.

They have a great drink menu, friendly and prompt service, and decent prices.
We went here for late night drinks, and we really enjoyed the ambiance.
It is a fairly busy place, especially on weekends and Friday nights, so be prepared to wait sometimes for a table.
The outdoor covered patio area overlooks the sidewalk, and indoor and bar seating is available, too.

Amazing! Daniel is the best server! We came for drinks and dinner and had a blast. Daniel recommended drinks for us and was friendly, helpful, and really went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable! Our first set of drinks were the Mohave Punch and the Nutty Chi Chi. Both were great but the Nutty Chi Chi is especially delicious. Then we had a Zombie and a Mai Tai. Their Mai Tai is the best I’ve ever had! This is the original Mai Tai with lime, and no pineapple. Daniel gave us a heads up that isn’t what most people expect, but wow! The OG Mai Tai is a revelation! So delicious! We split the pu pu platter and the food was amazing too! The egg rolls were the best I’ve ever had. The coconut shrimp, beef, dumplings, and sauces were all incredible as well.
I asked Daniel if they had tiki mugs available to purchase, and he brought the two they had to the table so I could take a look at them to decide which I liked best, which was incredibly sweet and helpful! He really loves and is passionate about tiki culture like us, and his knowledge and care truly elevated our experience at Tonga Hut to be maybe the best dining/drink experience we ever had.
We had so many bests here! Tiki bars are such a fun experience, and Tonga Hut might just be at the tippy top of the best there is! Thank again, Daniel!!
This review is primarily about the hostess working on Friday June 9. You were amazing and really upgraded our experience at Tonga Hut with your patience, knowledge, and ability to think of the perfect drink to fit everyone's preference.
I have been to many bars but never have I experienced someone who KNEW the menu front and back and was able to recommend a menu item based on two ingredients and allergies. At some point someone in my party said what they liked and didn't like and you came back with the perfect drink.
It was amazing. If that wasn't your bar then please let the world know when you open your own bar.
The location can't be beat on a Thursday night... looking down on the street fair with an umbrella drink....

A small tiki bar upstairs that has so much style and charm. We went there for my SO's birthday and got a huge, very alcoholic drink served inside a pineapple. The bartender was friendly and fun. We sat at the cool retro bar. If only it wasn't over 100 degrees out, we'd hang on the cool 2nd story patio :) Great oldies music too, Definitely recommend!
While the drinks are amazing the food is ok. The cook has a heavy hand on the salt - but it was still ok. I would recommend this place for a fun night out!
Came here for my birthday a few weeks ago and had an amazing time although I had to zombie drinks with admittedly made my night difficult to remember 🤣 Am back again with my family and some neighbors with party of 8, the owner who helped us out last time let us know they had a private room that would fit us all, super cool hidden and private room!! Amazing service by Leslie our waitress, and the food and drinks are killer!! So grateful the owner was able to accommodate and will be back soon!! Keep in mind room typically needs to be reservered with a down payment fee which is pretty reasonable for the private space and service provided!!
One of the best Tiki Bars. Felt authentic without the high price, and the food was very good to go along with the cocktails. It has a nice vibe to it.
