I heard that pulque is the new trending alcoholic beverage in Mexico to follow the revival of mezcal. But with a capital B, most Mexicans that you talk to are quite disgusted by pulque. I assume it's due to a combination of it's 1000 year old recipe origins and lack of refinement in some rural cases. That being said, I've been intrigued and allured by pulque for several years either not being able to find any locally or declined because of it's lack of authenticity. Though the Authenticity of Alebrije is genuine and I was not surprised to hear of a pulque cocktail (off menu) and jumped at the opportunity to taste pulque for the first time. They have used it in the most creative and provocative way mixing flavors of the fermented agave milk and toasted coconut in a cocktail almost familiar to a rainwater white Russian drunk from a soggy paper cup. I need a hobby.

The oyster crudo was delicious with salsa Verde mignonette and jalapenos. The poblano soup also was wonderful. Upscale Mexican food. No burritos or chips here.

Really enjoyed our meal here! I had the cauliflower appetizer (sounds unusual but tastes terrific) and the Roast Suckling Pig (also very good). Dessert flan was just okay. Great innovative cocktail menu. Will definitely return. Such an improvement over the last restaurant in this space (DISH).

Luckily found this place on my way to a pool party nearby and currently here. Bartender is wonderful, happy hour is great. Very cute spot. Happy hour margaritas are to die for! Didn’t order food because we had gone to eat breakfast elsewhere but the food I saw coming out from the kitchen looked great. So glad we found this place! P.S. had to edit this because I need to give the bartender a shoutout, so, THANK YOU, JOSE, for making our last day in Palm Springs so wonderful! Literally, if I could take this place and bring it to L.A., i would. 5/5

Authentic Mexican Cuisine! What a delight of the culinary senses. Service was great (thank you Christian and support staff), drinks were delicious (made right and reasonably priced) ... likely the best dining experience I have had in years. Highly recommended!

Impeccable service and hospitality. The menu choices are an ambience all it's own. So much flavor, so much aroma. Palm Springs has never experienced such an authentic Mexico City bistro. Relax and enjoy the full bar and imbibe the house specialties.

Again... our experience at Alebrije was wonderful. Here’s why: Food: great choices, all four of us ordered something different. Everyone loved their choice. I tried for the first time the rib eye dish. I was reluctant but I ordered it. The taste was delicious and honestly the best flavor I’ve had on any meat here in Coachella valley. A favorite though is the Roasted Suckling Pig, a classy carnitas flavor and the Creamy Poblano Pepper Soup. Drinks: We had wine experts w us and they enjoyed tasting the wines from Mexico City. Our favorites are their margaritas. I love the El Pastor. They’re different than most restaurants and the pour is generous. Ambiance: every time we go, the owners have added more beautiful artwork and warmth to the restaurant. It has its outdoor patio, bar area and dining area and all are aesthetically nice. Its modern decor sets it apart from every ethnic restaurant I have eaten. Service: NO DOUBT this was the best part of our dining experience. We had two phenomenal servers that simply enchanted us. I am a huge supporter of servers that make a customer feel welcomed. Chris went out of us way to accommodate our questions and needs and Moroni brought such a unique experience to our dining. He shared some beautiful legends of his homeland Mexico and tied it to the restaurants’ name Alebrije. And lastly the owner Alejandro “Alex” greeted us at the door, visited our table twice (and the restaurant was busy) and had such a warm and authentic interest ensuring our experience was wonderful.

One of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs, the food, drinks , and the amazing decoration of the restaurant make me feel like home . My girlfriend and I fell in love with this place on our first dinner, plus the great service that we have every time we go is extremely good. Thanks to Alex for taking care of us every time we go. Ask for el trompo al pastor you won’t be disappointed .

Fabulous new chic Mexican restaurant, reminiscent of my favorites from Mexico City! (Think Maximo Bistrot, Dulce Patria, Quintonil...) Service was excellent, drinks were on point, surroundings were lovely, and the food was on the whole delicious. A couple of kinks almost certainly because this was their fifth day open (!), but totally thrilled to have a place of this caliber in town. Kudos to Tamara for taking such excellent care of us. We'll be back!

Their happy hour margaritas are great, and it's a nice place with outdoor seating, but they didn't have any vegan food on the happy hour menu. I'll still go back tho, just not when I'm hungry

Oh my God!!! I LOOOOOVE the nachos here!!! I don't know what meat topping was on it but it was amazing!! The staff is so friendly it's like I've come home. Cesar, the bartender, knows his way around a bottle, man's a feakin magician with his concoctions. This is a must go to, so come by!!!!

Great UPSCALE Mexican restaurant. This is not your beans/rice/chili relleno kind of place, more on par with Rick Bayless in Chicago or Rosa Mexicano in New York. Excellent bar selections incl MX rarities not commonly found. Not cheap, but good value. If you really know MX food this is a great place.
