Team work makes the dream work! Restaurant was very short staffed and honestly, service wise, you would have no idea if your eyes were closed. The 3 employees that were serving guests, playing host and taking orders teamed up and made it work! One seated you, another took and delivered drink order and another took your order and the one who seated you delivered your order! One looked like the owner or manager and if so, huge Kudos to you for stepping in and making it all work!
Food was reasonable for the portion size and delicious! The challah French toast was absolutely delicious!
I was in the mood for pancakes and French toast but also wanted bacon! Holy crow, they had an entree that gave the best of all worlds on what seemed to be a limited menu due to the short staff and pandemic! I’ve never seen any place offer a meal with French toast and pancakes before! It was amazing! I asked for extra crispy bacon and it was cooked to perfection! Just the way I like it!
I definitely would return and highly recommend to others!
Please note: Due to Pandemic and short staff, the restaurant does not seat the entire place. Smart, if you ask me! You may have a 15-20 minute wait to be seated but after that, everything is streamlined and perfect! They are quite the team players!
First time to try and loved it! Went here for brunch with a friend and she asked me to try the Nutella French Toast - and it didn’t disappoint! Service is great, place is clean and food is reasonably priced. Will definitely go back! Enjoy your mornings here! 😊💕
This spot has a small menu but the food was fresh and delicious. That's the benefit of seeing a small menu, you know they are able to keep fresh quality ingredients. We had a very nice waiter who took care of our every need. If the busser was moving along quick. He brought us our drinks as soon as we sat down and when he cleared tables off around us, he made sure to place the dishes nicely so we didn't have loud crashing sounds around while we were eating. Love that! Great spot. Would definitely stop by again when in this neck of the woods.
We were just going to order sandwiches. Expecting something light just because we weren't that hungry. Instead we were given these incredible monsters. I ordered the Pastrami Ruben on Rye and he had ordered the Cuban Panini with the home made chips. Everything was so mouth wateringly delicious. The service was very quick, very attentive and just amazing. Very wheelchair friendly as well. Never rushed us and even made it a point to tell us to take our time. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.
I think this place is great. I asked for an off menu item and they immediately had no problem with it. The Pastrami Omelette! It was so good. Extremely friendly and prompt service, and the place had a great vibe. It is living up to the diner standard.

My friend and I usually stop in about every other month for breakfast before heading out on journey that day.
On this visit we did a late lunch around 2pm. At first I thought they weren't open because we didn't see any vehicles. So we had the place to ourselves for a bit.
Typical variety of foods you'd find in a Jersey diner. We enjoyed our sandwiches. Food was hot and filling.
Only negative I have (and it's always this way) With hardly no one there it was hard to get someone's attention without yelling out loud. Even though they were lounging at the counter. Other than that we enjoy our visits there.
I've been here 3 times. Chicken marsala dish is excellent. Service is always good. Havent been let down yet on quality.
The Empire is a great spot for brunch. They have healthy options, quick service, good food and fair prices.
A quiet diner with a good breakfast. I met here for a business meeting over breakfast. It was very quiet and there were only two employees on duty. The food was good and the portion was large. It was definitely quiet enough for a good meeting.
Went to Empire with a friend early on a Wed. afternoon. Place was slow but steady with patrons, staff was accommodating. Food was awesome!! Cooked perfectly, and not heavy or greasy. I had scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage, and they cooked it to my liking, and my friend had a California Burger, and it was beautiful!
Ladies restroom was decently clean - needed a little picking up, but that wasn't a problem. I had ordered a diet Coke, and they gave me a can of diet Coke with a glass of ice. I thought that was very cool!

Very fresh and delicious food! Good service and affordable prices of plenty of amazing dishes. The only issue I saw, was that the diner wasn't full with people. The manager told me that closed doors during covid pushed the clients away. Even though the diner already has been opened for a while, but the clients have not returned. I will be visiting the place more often.
I’m not usually the type of person to leave a review but wow. If you’re looking for a comfort place, this is the place to go. The service was sweet, the food was great, and the vibes were there. 10/10 would absolutely recommend (:
This place was legit! Such a cool place. Food was amazing. For my first NJ dinner experience, it was definitely an A+!!!
