Reviews Carrot Indo-chinese Restaurant

HAPPY FRIED-DAY! I had to get something fried on this most beautiful day of the work week to celebrate the approaching weekend! I pass Carrot all the time and wanted to give it a try today. I decided on the Chili Chicken since I'm not shy around hot and spicy foods. I used Grub Hub to order online and the order tracker was way off so the restaurant was kind enough to try calling me to say the food had been ready for a long time. Next time, I'll just call my order in. That doesn't factor into my review because it's not, to my knowledge, the restaurant's fault. The food was still hot (temperature-wise) when I picked it up so I am not sure if they kept it warm for me but if so, that is very much appreciated. The dish is actually an appetizer but the portion was enough for a more than modest lunch. I wish I'd known about the lunch specials because I'd have probably ordered that instead (you get more bang for your buck- all lunches are served with flavored basmati rice and include a bottled water or soda for $9.99...not a bad deal!) Anyhow, back to the Chili Chicken, which is deep fried chicken sautéed with onions, bell peppers and green chilies. If you like it hot and spicy, this is your appetizer. I wasn't quite aware of just how spicy it would be. My tolerance is pretty high, but just be warned it's close to five alarm, in my tastebuds' opinion. The flavor is great though and as I said, it's a sizeable dish! The fact that the restaurant is very small and bare bones somehow gives it more authenticity, maybe because to me, it means they are more focused on the quality of their food than the frills. For you vegetarians out there (I was veg for nearly 8 years) they have a nice selection of menu items! I look forward to my next visit. There are many items on the menu that appeal to me. Just make sure you call instead of ordering online or just order at the counter window when you get there, and you'll be set. This place is definitely more of a takeout joint. Cool little spot here!

Good food at the best price! They keep evolving, some other reviewers stating these folks aren't ready need to revisit it again. Like many, people struggle when they start something new doesn't mean they failed. These guys learnt and are now serving some tasty food at the most economical prices. Love their chicken 65, chicken lollipop and especially the biryani! Noodles and other Indo Chinese stuff is just icing on the cake! Hoping that the taste stays consistent now! Cheers!

This is a small place, not fancy.. but the food is AMAZING! I also love the staff here, they are all very friendly and upbeat even at 10pm! This is my favorite place to eat Indian food, sometimes we drive to just to get their food.

Very good take out. I called at 6:10 and wanted the food to be picked up at 7, when I got the food, it was pretty cold. But the food was very good. If I am paying 25 dollars for two things, it should be the best quality.

First off, this is one of the best decorated take-out style restaurants I have ever seen. With faux brick walls and laminated, rich wood tables, it is as cozy as a pizza tavern and very clean. The mountain of schezwan style chicken fried rice I'm mining away at is equally fresh - not oily or salty or burdened with fatty meat. The rice is delicate long grain, the dry seasoning is peppery and satisfying, with enough veggies to hydrate the dish. And I don't know what the orange smoothie had in it (papaya, mango?) but it was earthy, fragrant, and fresh. I'm glad this is on the way to work right off 287. I will Make this a ritual for (and then dinner) here often. Awesome!

Amazing small business restaurant! Great food! Their BACARDI CHICKEN, CHICKEN LOLLIPOPS, and also their GRILL items rock! I grabbed their newly introduced BENTO LUNCH BOX - it was yum for the price point. The HAKKA noodles were great.

Friendly owner and chef. It's a quaint take out place with some great indo Chinese and tandoori food. Must haves include bacardi chicken, chicken lollipop, butter naan with egg dry masala, mutton pepper fry, chicken 65/majestic, noodles and fried rice. Not a great fan of the masala rice and biriyani. Definitely try the chickoo shake.

Good restaurant, tried the chicken appetizers yesterday ..... pretty good. I like this place because of their prices, very affordable with good quality. As long as they maintain the quality, quantity at the same price I would say this place is a hit!
