I didn't have the opportunity to dine in here but the food was great. I love the pineapple flavoring. It provided a hint of sweetness while at the same time the way it was seasoned also provided a little heat as well. Either way it complimented the multiple meats that were in my meal rather well. I got the chicken, shrimp, and beef. I do think that there was too many onions and peppers for my liking but my wife didn't mind them. The meals were huge and fairly expensive however if we go here again we will definitely share the meal which will cut the cost down significantly. It seems one meal could feed to 2 or even 3 adults pretty easily! It also seems odd to say but the best refried beans ever.
Love the old building in an old school downtown. Atmosphere is good, but it is a small space. The salsa was really good but the chips seemed thick and store bought. We ordered the steak/chicken pineapple fajitas (most popular) and a carne asada Chile verde burrito. The fajitas were really good and served in a half pineapple. The pineapple brings a ton of flavor. The rice is really good as well. This dish is enough to feed two. The burrito was not good. The carne asada was chewy and the sauce had an off flavor. The staff was very friendly but seemed a bit too busy as many had to refill their own drinks. If it weren’t for the burrito, I would have rated it a five star.
First a visit. Good food. Grilled pineapple is fun. Two shredded beef tacos good. Shrimp Chimichanga excellent. Señorial Sangria is always a must. Service was good. Small place.
This place is so good. This is my first time here. The food is fantastic and the service matches it. You can not go wrong but make sure you try the pineapple fajitas. The shrimp is excellent.
My wife and I are pretty much regulars at El Tapatio... The pineapple chicken fajitas are so good that we haven't even ordered anything else. Servers are friendly and quick and so is the kitchen. Can't beat El Tapatio in flavor or value!
We LOVE LOVE LOVE El Tapatio! Always on the lookout for good, new, Mexican food, we were recommended by some friends to try this place out. They said, "Get the Pinapple Fajitas! You won't regret it!" They couldn't have been more right! This easily serves two people and comes with a choice of chicken, steak, or shrimp. We usually do a combo with chicken and steak! I should warn you, you'll be back! There isn't a ton of seating, but we've never had a problem getting right in. The service is quick and friendly. This quickly became our favorite place to eat, even though it's a bit of a drive for us. Totally worth it! I wish I could comment on the other items on the menu, but the Pineapple Fajitas is the only thing we ever get! Tell them Ryan sent you!! (just kidding, they don't really know me!)
Love love love their filled pineapple entree! Perfect sweetness combination with peppers, onions and meat. It’s plenty for 2 hungry adults.
We got the 3 meat pineapple fajitas and they were so delicious! It comes with shrimp, steak, and chicken and a bunch of vegetables and pineapple, easily enough for 2 people to share. They could’ve added more pineapple in the dish but overall it was one of the better fajitas I’ve ever had. Definitely worth a trip out to Payson to try it. Also their horchata was really good while the Jamaica wasn’t the best. I’d recommend not getting it.
We were driving from Salt Lake city to Zion National Park and stopped in Payson for lunch. Ordered Super Nacho with shredded beef. It was delicious. We found their Salsa very unique with lots of cilantro.
The food was amazing! Large portions, great flavors, good prices. We had Enchiladas, chimichangas, chili relleno (best my wife has had), fish tacos, flat steak, and chips+salsa+guacamole. Even the beans and rice were yummy. Out of the 5 of us in our group, there was not one complaint about the food. The table was a little sticky, and the atmosphere was a little bit loud for some of us. Despite these minor issues, the food was good enough for us to overlook them.
We highly recommend dinner here.
Best pineapple fajitas!! I get them everytime. I like to get both steak and chicken. You can easily share them and still take some home. Comes with beans and rice, also chips and salsa.
Finally made here on a recommendation for the Piña Fajitas. Grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, and pineapple with traditional onion and peppers served in a pineapple husk. The grilled pineapple gave the fajitas a unique flavor that we loved. This is the only thing on the menu we tried, but can recommend the fajitas with 5 stars.
Wow! The food was excellent! The seafood was so fresh and really tasty, I never tried anything that delicious before in the USA. The portions are so big, between my husband and I were able to just eat half of the Pineapple. The price was the lowest we've ever paid for seafood around.
You guys need to try it, I promise you won't regret it.
I back up everyone... THE PINEAPPLE FAJITA WAS AMAZING!! Heaps of meat, grilled pineapple, bell peppers and onions are served in a pineapple. Is there anything better. The meat was mouthwatering and the chicken was so tender yet flavorful! The pineapple fajita, to my surprise, was served with a plate full of delicious rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream. It is not your “authentic” Mexican food, but it’s dang good food nonetheless! Their free chips and salsa was amazing! The homemade salsa was authentic and delicious. Me and my wife finished half of the pineapple fajita it was so big. The pictures don’t do justice to how big the fajita was... It could easily fill three grown big eaters. It cost $20. Extremely good deal! The waitress was very attentive. The music in the kitchen was a little loud, but the place gave off that family owned vibe. Everyone was so chill. We will be coming back here!
My husband and I came here to eat, and it was awesome! Our waitress, Trice, was AMAZING! There was never a time I had to awkwardly wait or try to get attention -- she was on top of her game and gave excellent service! The food came out so fast too, and it was delicious!
Really good food. The rice and beans were really tasty and the pi~na fajitas are amazing. The staff was really friendly, but did make a few mistakes with our order and at another table we overheard, but they worked to make it up to us.
Not too slammed on a Thursday night. Nice quieter restaurant where you can talk to friends and hear each other. And the pineapple chicken fajitas are out of this world good. The chips and salsa are good too!
Crazy big burrito called the tapitio. It has 3 meats and lots of sour cream, guacamole, and sauce. Don't fill up too much on the chips. Had a picky little cousin, and they were really kind and accommodating.
