An unexpected and unassuming gem in the heart of downtown Peekskill! Great Guatemalan and Central American food at affordable prices. Staff is friendly and although English isn’t the first language, communication was not a problem. The pupusa’s and “chef’s specialty” were plenty flavorful and filling. We will be back!
Absolutely fantastic food. Extremely helpful waitresses. Food was just right. Atmosphere - the "real deal". Prices were OK - an excellent value.
A wonderful small town atmosphere.
Lots of g.f. options.
Delicious food. The pupusas were amazing! Will definitely be stopping by again
Just went for the first time. Everything was homemade and fresh and really delicious. We’ll definitely go again!
Very high quality food thats not over priced and is always delicious . Staff is always very friendly .
Food was excellent I would actually come back again but the plates are a little to small for my opinion
Good service, the Jamaica juice was good. The bean and cheese pupusa was crispy along the edges and flavorful. The sauce and slaw on the side packed a kick and was delicious. The fish dish was well fried and seasoned.
The sweet plantain dessert was good, just a bit sweet. Worth a try.
The best damn he huevos rancheros I've ever had!!
The reviews don't lie, this place was really great! The service was friendly and polite and the food was amazing! Highly recommend the bean and cheese pupusa and the whole friend fish. The outdoor seating that was pleasant and there is a great paleteria across the street if you want desert!
We stopped by during our hiking trip. Good food and good people.
Really good Guatemalan food for more than reasonable prices. Friendly people here too
Popusas at this location were great during my first visit
Fantastic simple, tasty & affordable Central American (mostly Guatemalan; though their "burger and fries is terrific) food and the nicest local family preparing and serving it. Highly recommend this local Peekskill eatery: Always enjoyable. Note: It does take a few minutes -which is as it should be- as they prepare everything from scratch, so don't be in a super rush. Not just good Central American Food, but good food period. A new Peekskill institution: I hope they lasts as long as the Central Diner or the Royal J did, though now both of those are gone after probably 50 years (and this place is WAY better!)
El Bambu is a great place to eat and we love their food! Service is great, very friendly. A wonderful place to enjoy brunch during the Saturday morning farmers market!
Delicious and speedy meal. We sat outside and there service was great.
Very good food, excellent service !
