The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because the salsa's weren't all that great. The chicken was excellent and had lots of flavor. I had the chicken burrito....Huge, most definitely can be shared. The potato salad was heaven! Was here for a wedding and if I lived here this place would definitely be a go to!
Best chip bar. Red sauce edged out the green sauce. They offer radishes in one bucket and sautéed onions in the other. Shrimp burrito with light rice was outstanding-order it light rice with extra sauce and super style aka guacamole &sour cream. Cannot go wrong with this place. I’ll bet it is the best of its style in Petaluma super tight roll with quality foil.

Good place for Mexican. Friendly fast service. Quality is good and prices low. Counter service with big menu including photos of various items to help describe them. For tacos it’s two to a regular order but they let give so much filling and two extra soft tortillas that you can make four tacos from order. Tortilla chips are excellent and they give you an empty basket to fill as much as you like from their station with chips and salsas. Free parking on street. Simple place but authentic and good.
Incredible quality food and fair pricing. Parking is a mess, so find a place a bit further away on a different street. Well worth the walk and walk back since you’ll need a bit of time to digest the generous portions. Also bring a jacket since the restaurant is criminally cold for some reason.
Best Mexican food EVER. Some Mexican restaurants can be stingy with chips and it’s not like that here. The staff is kind and ready to serve you. My kids beg to come here if we are out doing errands. Burritos are the absolute best I’ve ever had. Tacos well those aré equally amazing.
I have visited the Taco truck, down the street many times. I really really love the sopes!
Today I decided to try the restaurant, very happy to say this place does consistency well.
I do Vegetarian sopes, everything, whole beans;no meat.
The actual sope is so so good, great texture size and flavor.
All the toppings are on point. The flavor combinations, topped with the perfect amount of cheese & great sides of salsa’s.
I will continue to go to both restaurant and food truck!
Excellent tacos and meats here. I tried the pastor, asada, and Pollo and all of them were good. The tacos come loaded up and they have a free chip and salsa bar to go with the meal. The only issue is that parking is very limited. There is street parking but there is a time limit on the spots in front of the restaurant. The parking is strictly enforced so pay attention to signage.
This place was great, always a little line in all food trucks. Restaurant was not as busy but there were lots of to go orders. Tacos, salsas, nachos were excellent and cheap.
First off, the cashier was super welcoming, helpful, down to make suggestions and give guidance, and overall a great start to my first visit to El Roy’s.
I wanted to get a sampling of what they offer, so I just ordered a bunch of tacos. After Ms Awesome’s tweaking to my order, I ended up with two shrimps, a carne asada, an al pastor, and a carnitas.
I would order every single one again. In order, my favorite was carne asada, carnitas, shrimp, al pastor.
12 bucks for 5 delicious tacos, a coke, and bottomless chips and salsa. I’ll probably go again tomorrow.

I didn’t make it back the next day, but I did make it the day after that. 3 carne asada tacos and 3 chicken tacos. Carne still takes the cake but I’ve wouldn’t turn back a single thing I’ve had there.
Tacos dorados: shrimp, fish and chicken with a side of beans and rice. Salsa is incredibly fresh-tacos were crunchy, piled with lightly crumbled Mexican cheese. Salsa bar offers crispy thick chips and salsa. I traveled 1 1/2 by bus to try this place and it looks like I’m gonna have to go back-a lot! 🌮 🌮 🌮 👍
It's hard not to speak in cliche when taking about this restaurant... But it is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. I love trying new "hole in the wall" restaurants but Roy's is a step above that. You can tell that a Mexican restaurant is going to be great when they have a salsa, pickled jalapeño and radish bar. Don't hesitate... Just give it a go. The locals love it, and I'm not a local.
I love their tostadas, tacos dorados, soft tacos, and tortas. The torta de Santa Cruz comes with grilled onions and mushrooms that go really well with the carne asada. Their salsa (red and green) are the best around. I'll drink that stuff straight out of the cup. You also get free pickled jalapenos, carrots, and onions, which I love. Favorite Mexican food in Sonoma County.

I love the fish, and shrimp burritos. The grilled veggies burrito is also really good, and the chips are awesome! When it comes to tacos I think they're Pollo asado (grilled chicken) is the most flavorful with a yellow curry color to it. The carnitas is nice and crispy and I think would be really awesome with grilled veggies in a shrimp burrito. The carne asada (steak) is small bits of chewy bland meat.
I prefer their green salsa over the red.
Best veggie burritos in town and probably the whole North Bay. Not a big place to sit down but service is friendly with great prices and chips. Always busy so they always have a food truck at the fairgrounds and sometimes at Craftsman Flooring parking lot.
This place has some of the best food in the area, and not just because of nostalgia. All their stuff tastes fresh and amazing. Would totally recommend to ANYONE in the area
Always SO yummy! If they are busy its worth the wait. The staff is always working their tails off and friendly while doing so. It can get a bit hot inside in Summer but nothing that should deter you, they also have outside seating.
