Drove thru horrible weather from Kalamazoo so that my wife could have her favorite prime anywhere and it didn’t disappoint! I have delicious Chicken Alfredo and finished the last of the prime rib. Service was great and the staff made us feel like valued and welcome guests. Definitely will be back when we’re in the area again!
Love love love...fast orders, fast turn time, great food! Local go to place for the best service, food and to hang out with friends, old and new. A must see!
My husband and I had dinner with local friends at the Side Door. We have not been there since the new ownership and were very pleased with the food and service we received. The Pistachio Herb Butter Whitefish and the Steak Zolie entrees were delicious, as was the Bread Pudding we had for dessert! The hostess, bartender and server were all very friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back!

Best damn olive burger in northern Michigan......Everything from food to service to atmosphere can’t beat it.
My Husband an I always enjoy going there, the Olive Burger an Smoked Fish Dip are Soooo Good. Went last Fri. Couldn't wait, but fish dip won't start till end of May, that's our fav. Appetizer.
We had a late lunch and the cascadia was awesome. We also split a olive burger. Great. We'll be back in August.
The food is so good! I had to have two lunches! The Wakiki Quesadilla is out of this world!! The Turkey Pretzel sandwich, OMG!!

I could hardly decide what to order there were so many good options!! Had the Whitefish Quesadillas and they were delicious. My kids had the Lobster and Filet and a burger and loved it. Service was awesome our waitress was very patient with my friend and our 7(!) kids. This will definitely be somewhere we return!!!

Side door is a great family-friendly restaurant. The service was amazing. Their menu has tons of options to meet everyone's tastes.
The olive burger sauce was great, but the burger itself kind of had a frozen, bulk beef taste that I wasn't a huge fan of. My wife ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap, which was good. Their kids' menu thankfully had buttered noodles, which is 1 of the 3 things my picky 7 year old eats. The moms ordered soup and a quesadilla, which they both enjoyed. They don't have a fryer so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for fries or fried foods, but it is a suitable place to stop if you're looking for something tasty and affordable.

Great place! They make an awesome old fashion (if you're a fan like me), their foods great (I got a whitefish quesadilla that I inhaled without photographing), and the service was good! They also have a cute patio if you want to be outside and they are close to town, next door to puttputt and down the street from the State Park... what's not to like?
Food was excellent, service was friendly, attentive and quick, and the atmosphere very fun. If you like Mint Ice Cream or Oreos, or both, you gotta try the Mint Oreo Ice Cream, pie. Hard to go wrong at the Side Door Saloon when in Petoskey!! 5/5
The Side Door Saloon ... yes, it's a saloon type atmosphere! Beautiful long bar and cozy seating. TVs for sports enthusiasts. But the food is far better than saloon quality! The mushrooms olive burger is the best burger in town. "How do you want it?" Medium rare comes exactly medium rare. Tasty, juicy, and delicious. Plan to return again, and again ...

My first time there in over 46 years. (Because I lived in Florida). I went with my aunt and her husband. They had come up for a week. The food was great. Well, except for the huge slice of onion for my burger. Now I know to tell them to slice thin. Had a great time there and everyone enjoyed their meal.
I will start with my rating system. It is simple. I'll be a regular or I won't. This is in the category of I'll be a regular. In the casual dining category this restaurant is top notch. Great food at a very reasonable price. They are incredibly quick with food preparation even when it is busy. The staff is always very good. The place is popular for exactly the reasons I gave.
If you are not from the area you wouldn't know about this hidden gem! I was too excited about our meals that I forgot to take photos! I did manage to grab one of the appetizer though! I don't even like prime rib, but the prime rib is to die for! I love the Shang hi tuna just as much! Wait staff are super friendly. Food came out fast. We stop and eat here every time we are in town! Definitely don't pass up the opportunity to eat here if you are close by!
Got the prime rib quesadilla and the wife got the olive burger. She loved her burger and the quesadilla was really good as well. We also got the spinach artichoke dip for a app. All of the food had really natural flavor which was amazing. The staff was super friendly. I recommend this place if your in the area.
We had a blast at this really cool place. The food was great and the atmosphere was very fun and enjoyable. I got the blackened fresh catch of whitefish which would have been 5 stars but I got a few bones in it.

If you're in Petoskey and want a burger please go to this restaurant. Their burgers are great! Also, if you want a variety that would please any crowd, this is the place. Service staff was nice and gave some great recommendations!
Carol was an absolutely phenomenal server, the atmosphere was great. We had the pepperjack crab soup, Had the black and white fish sandwich, My daughter had the turkey pretzel comma and my son had grilled cheese. Parents had the chicken and cheese quesadilla and everything was fantastic.
The atmosphere here is campy and woodsy. It is also loud. It doesn't take much to make a loud murmur. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, because I enjoyed myself a lot. I had read that they were consistently voted in top 5 for Northwest Michigan.
I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It was cooked PERFECTLY! It was an excellent piece of beef! The bacon was excellent and bbq sauce was tasty. The bun was tasty, but not overpowering. The only thing is the burger looked small. Somehow it was deceiving and very filling. The person I was with had the regular burger and agreed on all points.
The service was friendly and competent.
Overall 5 stars. Would I return? Yes Yes Yes Yes, hmmmm Yes! Lastly the don't serve anything Deep Fried, so NO fries or onion rings. Just chips.
The pepperjack crab chowder is excellent, as with the salmon dinner. Servers all were busy and were able to keep our drinks cold and food on time
Their food and drinks are delicious. We love eating here. We have never had bad food. The service is great and atmosphere is nice.
