Since I grew up on the near north side of Chicago I felt qualified to put Scalisi's to the test. And since I feel nothing compares to my old favorite "Gino's" pizza on Superior St, downtown Chicago I couldn't wait to give Scalisi's a try. And so I have to admit. Scalisi's 2-in deep dish pizza impressed me. Does it compare to Gino's? Uh no. But I have to say it came pretty darn close. I was impressed with the cheese bread and I especially liked the recipe to their marinara sauce. So. Without a doubt Scalisi's pizza is the best "Chicago pizza" I've found outside of actual Chicago. Period. Definitely worth your time and visit. Congratulations Scalisi's.
I’ve been to different places owned by people from Chicago claiming they have the Italian beef and the Vienna hot dogs and so forth and was disappointed with all of them. I saw Scalis’s advertisement and thought we’d give it a try. Being raised in Chicago I’ve had the Italian beefs, the hotdogs the deep dish pizza so my expectations were very high. We ordered the Italian beef, the Vienna hot dog, the Gyro, we also ordered the traditional Italian sausage pizza. We wanted to get a taste of these well known dishes from back home. I gave them a 5 star review for the following the food was great, the service was great, talked to the owner Patty and she was also very nice. I can say this it will never be the same as home but this was very very close. Will be coming back soon for sure. Our next thing to try is the deep dish pizza, a heads up you need to order at least 35mins before arriving because the deep dish does take awhile to cook.
We had been wanting to try this place for a while...so glad we did!!! Food was great...hubby had penne pasta and I tried the deep dish! It was delicious!! On top of the great food, the customer service was TOP NOTCH!! Our waitress was great and very attentive!! The owner, Patty was very professional and attentive with us too. She was so sweet! I would highly recommend this place!
Great food! Tried the Vienna Dog yesterday and went back today for the Italian beef with spicy sausage! Yummy!!! One recommendation: call in your deep dish pizza before you get there. As with all deep dish pizzas, it will take about 35-40min to make.... well worth the wait. �����
I always thought that the best place to get a Deep Dish in the Valley was Mama Mia’s... that changed tonight. The Chicago Style deep dish pizza knocks out Mamas Mias with ease. It’s full of flavor and didn’t hurt my pocket. Definitely coming back for more!!

The calzone was delicious! Ricotta, meatball, and spinach inside enveloped with a garlic crust. Yum! I want to return for a deep dish pizza!

Fried Cauliflower with a hint of spicy flavor, awesome hot off the grill burger and crispy hot fries. I will be coming back to try the pasta!

Was dying to visit your restaurant and it was well worth the wait! I'm a big Chicago lover. Born and raised in the RGV but have been to Chicago several times and always have a great time, great food. Everything was delicious! Very nice restaurant and staff! Can't wait to visit again!

We had the spinach garlic hand tossed pizza today and it was delicious. Owner and wait staff very nice very friendly. Anxious to return again. Great appetizers as well.

Very delicious food. Deep dish and Texas toothpicks were mouthwatering. The deep dish is really cheesy and the crust has a unique flavor. Marinara and garlic combinations make this meal super.

Super good deep dish pizza, very similar to the one they serve in Chicago in Giordano's restaurant. The vegetarian lasagna was also delicious. 100% recommended place
A little Chicago style restaurant. The owners is a family that used to live in Chicago and they brought the Italian-American style cooking to The Valley. I loved this place. The pizza is simple different from other places; spaghetti, meatballs and lasagne they are great. And the desserts just amazing. You should try everything! 👍
This is far the best food ever since I have been here to Texas from California! Im a small person and usually don’t eat all of my food but here I ate it all plus I even felt like licking the plate that’s just how great this food really is. You now have a regular customer with me plus my daughter and friends will be coming here. Thank you so much for opening here close to where we live ❤️
We tried the pizza rolls there where delicious n the Cajun chicken was great too. For the pizza we got the deep dish meat lovers it's a good size n lots of cheese good food overall will be going back.
