Recommend : chicken rice, roti, Char kway teow (noodle dish)
Good : hainanese chicken
Ok: house special squid
The roti was light and delicious
Squid had dried shrimps in the sauce which was not for me but otherwise was ok.
Overall we enjoyed and food was quite good. The staff isn't particularly attentive, we had to flag people down for items not delivered to the table, and even failed to do so for more tea and ended up giving up on it and just getting the check.
One of the best meals I've had here in Chinatown. Some of the menu items are standard things you'll find in any Chinese restaurant. We just asked our server to make recommendations and we were blown away by the curries and traditional Malay dishes. 10/10 recommended.
The food was actually really great! The decorations and atmosphere was also satisfactory. It's just the service was mediocre. But, it's a weird thing because it's a nicer restaurant within China town. So if I hold it up to Chinatown standards of service, well, it's average Chinatown standards. Menus are just printed papers stapled together and when we first sat the table, the table was so wet from the wipe down, we had to dry it with napkins. But you're also paying a notch up in prices, so would expect these things to not happen. Staff was friendly, but they just felt untrained and just part-time workers on short stints at the restaurant. I'd come back for the food though. Solid portions of good tasting food!
Delicious, flavorful and comforting Malaysian food. Service was fast. Started with the roti canai (forgot to take a pic) and shrimp puff. I had the Hainese chicken with chicken rice and my neice has the beef randang. Place filled up fast after we arrived but they have a good flow. Street parking is hard but many parking lots around
We saw this place the day before while taking a walk and decided we would go. This was insane Malaysian food. Wow!!! Highly recommend it. Plate were so huge we had 2 containers to bring back. We gave them to someone in need nearby.
Loved the food! The lady who waited our table made sure we understood what we ordered! When we ordered the hainanese chicken she wanted to make sure we understood it was steamed chicken - didn’t want us to be surprised. The open kitchen was amazing to look into while eating the food, especially how they made roti!
All in all, amazing food and ambience!
Dining in with family tonight and restaurant was packed. We were seated with no reservations but told it would take 45/1 hr to receive our order as it was a holiday evening. We took our chance but service was so incredibly quick and were served within 15 minutes. Matthew was our waiter and was so attentive and kind. Thank you for your hard work and for making our evening with family so enjoyable! You work so hard to care for others and it’s truly genuine appreciated! Thank you Penang for an incredibly delicious meal and service 😊
Quick service and good food. Nothing was really spicy which was surprising. Ordered a roti telur, satay mix, curry chicken with onion, nasi lemak, and half hainanese chicken. The satay (beef and chicken) was amazing!
Perfect late dinner spot when you need something hot and fast. The staff was was awesome and we loved our food! The prices were also incredible.
Second time coming to Penang and the Malaysian food served here did not disappoint! For appetizers we had roti canai, vegetarian roti canai and chicken and beef satay. To my surprise I actually slightly liked the vegetarian roti canai curry over the regular roti canai! The satay was grilled to perfection! For the main course we ordered beef rendang and the fried pearl noodles. They both were super delicious!! If you can get past the long service time, I definitely recommend this place to have a delicious and enjoyable dinner!
