I'll admit, my decision to buy something was based solely on the fact that I love monkeys and the color purple .. and well, cookies. These were the best cookies I've had in a long time, so yummy!

We were in Philly for the day and all our scheduled events were cancelled because of the weather so we popped into the market. My daughter was so excited that you had some vegan options and was even more excited that they tasted so good! We went back and bought more!
Always a favorite stop when visiting family in Philly. Their pies are delectable comfort food with each sweet bite. And definitely worth the extra gym time!

The BEST whoopie pies I've ever had!!!!! I bought a dozen to share with my family. And they loved them too!!
Stopped in yesterday and got a piece of chocolate layer cake, a cookie dough brownie, and a piece of chocolate butter cake. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic Whoopi pies, certainly some of the best I’ve ever had, though I’ve never had any that weren’t store bought until today. I ordered 2 which I believe is “enough” since they are small relative to most Whoopi pies I’ve had in the past. I enjoyed the original, but I think I liked the “whoopwich” better. I’ll probably end up back there again before the end of the week.
We stopped here for a whoopie pie because we read that they have good ones. It was pretty good but not amazing. If you want a really good whoopie pie, go to Beiler's around the corner. They're much better, bigger, and cost less. But don't take my word for it---do the taste test for yourself!
Ignore the other reviews. This was my first time trying a whoopie and it was DELICIOUS. The breading with the cream reminded me of a cannoli, but soft (whoopies aren’t hard) and differently sweet. I got the butter beer flavored one and would get another in a heartbeat.
If you’re going to Reading Terminal, please go here and try a whoopie. Ignore the other items if you have to.
I'm a lyft driver and one of the employees was my passenger. He gave me a box of cookies which was very nice. The cookies are delicious. I'm definitely going to go to the establishment to purchase some more items. I don't like chocolate chip cookies but these have just the right amount of chocolate chips. Not over powering at all
Today I had the pleasure of sampling Elizabeth Halens “bars”. S’mores, pecan pie, butter cake and lemon to name a few. I COULD NOT stop eating these bars. Decadent only partially describes these delicious creations. They were so damn good. I wanted to stop at one taste but I just couldn’t. The lemon bar with the buttery crust was my favorite but I have to say the gooey butter cake was running a very close second. Then there was the homemade Graham cracker crust on the s’mores bar….. I could go on and on. You’ll just have to try them for yourselves. Decadent and delicious. A real treat! Thank you Elizabeth. I’ll be thinking about your lemon bar for a long time.
The chocolate chip was really good, similar to the Wegmans cookie. The vanilla cupcake was awful, the frosting on top is very dense and the cake doesn’t taste good and also dense. The Whoopie pie was not good. I prefer the ones at farm stands. I’d go back for the chocolate chip cookie though!
I ordered a carrot cake for my mom's birthday and we all loved it! Sometimes carrot cakes can be very dense but this was moist, light icing, and perfectly sweetened. Best carrot cake in Philly!
Excellent lemon raspberry whoopie pie, just small. And great lemonade. I suppose the service is what you’d expect from a vendor in a market.
Perfect place to stop if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. Lots of variety including unique options so definitely at least one option even the pickiest people will like. Friendly staff which is happy to give more info and help you pick something special.
Picked up cupcakes for my mom's birthday dinner and they withstood the train ride into Jersey. Love that they have a perfect size box for 4. I'm not a big frosting person but this chocolate buttercream was delicious - not to heavy, not too sweet.

Flying Monkey is a staple of Reading Terminal. Their whoopie pies are famous and a must have for a visit here. However, quality control seems to have gone slightly downhill in my opinion. For our visit last weekend, we ordered a classic whoopie and a Guinness whoopie, a chocolate and a cheesecake brownie, and a lavender and rose cupcake. Unfortunately, we received two classic whoopies instead of the Guinness, but it was so busy and we weren't upcharged so it was not a big deal. The rose cupcake was pretty good. The flavors weren't too strong, and the brownies were rich and delicious. The whoopies were average, but the cake was very moist. The problem we had with the food was the lavender cupcake. The flavors were so overpowering it tasted super soapy and unpleasant. Luckily the cake was good so we scraped off the frosting and enjoyed the rest, but it was dissapointing.
My issue with our last visit comes to the service. As we were ordering we were rushed through our selection because we ordered more than two things. All of our items were also shoved into one small box and taped together, and after opening it there was no way to properly re-close the box because of this, and it caused some of our items to be squished. We asked them for another box to separate the items since my mom and I were not returning to the same places but instead the man behind the counter aggrivatingly handed us small paper bags instead. It was frustrating, but not the end of the world. It was just midly dissapointing with this situation and then the instances with the taste of the food.
Delicious desserts! The pumpkin whoopie pie was just so tasty and the cake was moist. The lemon blackberry whoopie pie was surprisingly sweet and tart you could tell it used fresh fruit. Also got a really good creme brulee cupcake and a wonderfully chewy molasses cookie. Would definitely get treats here again!
I absolutely love flying monkey bakery, I always try to grab a treat or two whenever I'm at reading terminal. Their whoopie pies are so good and they also have a good deal of vegan baked goods!
